Editors Note: Sorry for the delay in posting this final Rivals II article, I've been busy the past few months and have been sidetracked by other things, which has taken time away from properly editing this article & posting it well after the finale. So, please accept my apologies.
For right now here as winter is in the air (including a cold snap as I finally post this), reminiscent of what we had back in early February, things have been calm in Real World/Challenge land; albeit with buzz surrounding the next season of The Challenge, and buzz for Real World Ex-Plosion about to begin, having wrapped filming recently right up the road from where I'm situated in Silicon Valley, episodes being edited as we speak and the trailer now out there for everyone to see. By now, those who follow this franchise as passionately as me are recovered from the excitement of a great Challenge season that saw two deserving veteran teams winning the Final on Rivals II, followed by the first-ever live Challenge reunion which made twitter headlines for an punch in the face that was seen live on MTV's airwaves...an explosive end to this exciting season to say the least.
As we post this here in December at the beginning of the holidays, many of our favorite RW/Challenge personalities are back on their social platforms after being frozen for a month & a half (which also meant they weren't able to wish me happy birthday on Wednesday, November 13) as they were out of country for Challenge 25, returning on Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. And shortly after they departed for that Challenge, a new set of seven strangers re-emerged on social media from filming in the City before the RW buzz begins anew, with big shoes to fill after a standout Real World season up the I-5 in Portland, now with a huge twist. As you would suspect, I have welcomed the Season 29 cast with open arms, just as I have for the ladies of Big Tips Texas and the nurses of Scrubbing In, which both have been providing me with a good warmup for RWSFO (for which I've also extended my twitter welcome mat to both casts). For now, nearly 3 months after the finale (it's better late than never), we wrap up our coverage of Rivals II with my debrief & thoughts on the season that was in Thailand.
