Inside MTV Reality: The Siesta Key WRAP - A 4th of July Party Up North

And so, we welcome you to the first Sunday of March, and it's been quite a week in our world... but if you are one of the many who need a respite from it, we at DCBLOG are here for you. This week in MTV Reality, the countdown began in earnest for Season 35 of The Challenge: Total Madness, and we'll kick off our coverage of that the week after next as we ramp up towards April 1st. But for both this & next week, our focus is on the summer fast approaching its sunset down in Siesta Key.

Lately in Central Florida - save for all the exes drama, the spotlight has been on Jared: he celebrated his birthday in Episode 7, and as the only one in the clique who has been married at one time, last week his ex-wife Jessica flew into town for a visit. Meanwhile, Chloe & Alex reopened a beloved neighborhood bar, and then proceeded to get into what went down with him & Juliette, which forced him to own up to Alyssa, all while Brandon got into it with Amanda and ex JJ at that reopening gala.

This week, something we here like to call a Double Shot: back-to-back episodes, which offered a much-needed viewing alternative from Super Tuesday politics. First up, the King & his crew are headed up to Georgia to celebrate the 4th of July but will the drama bug follow them up the road? And Madisson's producer boyfriend returns to town with a big question to ask her. See you after the jump for the first half of this doubleheader...


 THINGS TO KNOW 
EPISODE 9

● TRIP TO GEORGIA: We begin with the Party Up North, and after what has gone down in the past few weeks Alex and Alyssa decide that they want to have a respite from all of the drama that's gone down in Siesta for something different. They will follow what the Floribama Shore bunch did in spending some time away from the hometown by taking the nearly 6-hour drive up I-75 north to her family's lake-side house in the Southern Georgia town of Albany to celebrate the 4th of July. Ultimately, Chloe, Madisson, Amanda JJ, Jared and Madisson would join them for the trip to GA.
   Meanwhile, the rest of the group stays back in the Key for the Independence Day festivities by the Gulf, with Brandon hosting a weekend party at his place and Madi coming by with her boyfriend in tow, and immediately the gentlemen squash things after their dust-up at Jules' graduation party earlier this season... and Kelsey also joins in as she catches up with Garrett. And Juliette is busy working at her new job at a small business fashion boutique whose grand opening is approaching (more on that in part 2 later).

● ISH RETURNS: Ish is taking a break from his production assignments also up north - but well in the Great White North in Canada, and he comes back down to Siesta for a few days to meet up with Madisson at the same local restaurant where Alex & Juliette had their series-opening date three years ago... of course, Madi would go on an Alex date of her own later in that premiere back in summer 2017 in spurring the love square of that first summer.
   Here on this date, Ish gives her a gift of a necklace that he got while he was away... the last time something like this happened here, it led to #Jalex getting broken up. And then, he asks her if she would be willing to make the cross-country trek out to California to move in with him.

● 4TH GONE BAD: Alex's crew make the trek up to Georgia to celebrate the 4th with Alyssa popping open the champagne, and Madisson is there with the group too, looking to perhaps make a move on Jared after what happened with Kelsey. As Alex is busy having a good time on the jetskis, Alyssa and Chloe are busy shucking corn when the gossip queen discusses what went down the previous week at the Crescent Bar reopening. Alex gets word about the potential that his call to Juliette might be brought up and of Alyssa being intolerant about not being truthful. But it's when everyone gathers around the outdoor dinner table after making dinner for the first time by themselves that things get heated once Alex asks Chloe whose side she's on. This is what happens next...



● FAMILY & BREAKUP: Once everyone returns from Georgia - and after Chloe returned early after her tirade with Alex, the attention turns back to Madisson & Ish. The Hausberg family gathers with them at a local restaurant to discuss the chance that the daughter may be heading out to Hills country with him, including her sister & season 1'er Paige (best known for kissing Brandon's crush Canvas two years ago). There, their daughter discusses her intentions of moving with Ish to L.A., and while she is thrilled about the chance to continue living under the sunshine her parents have other thoughts as does Paige when she says, "Isn't it kind of cliche: a producer dating a young actress."
   When they gather at a bench by the water, Madisson and Ish discuss if they do want to move in together out in California. Though she's ready to spread her wings out of the Key, the person Your Observer dubs "Father Time" decides that they need more time on their hand to think about whether they do want to be together considering her family's skepticism of a 40-year-old man dating their daughter... and they break up.
