DC WRAP: Real World Bad Blood "Not The Show You Think It Is"

BY DC CUEVA

As this DC VEGAS Weekend kicks off across my network of social media platforms here on this Saturday, this week we have an abbreviated edition of the WRAP for Week 2 of Real World Bad Blood. The Bad Blood of the original seven strangers flew to Portland this week to begin their trek up the Pacific Northwest and up the I-5 to Seattle where they will be surprising the housemates with them moving in much to the shock of the originals. This week, we had the opportunity to learn more about the histories of the castmates and their bad blood, and of course we saw the twist drop on the bad blood as they took a nice road trip through the majestic region.
The episode Wrap, that is - the Things to Know review of the night's key moments, will be tabled over to next week's edition of the Wrap, but that doesn't mean we'll be ducking this all entirely... we'll have the results of this week's DC FORUM Polls here on this shortened edition. Afterwards, two AYTO-themed pieces of ExtraTime as an Original goes to a national political convention, while yet another AYTO baby is headed our way. Join us here next.

 DC FORUM POLLS

The only thing related to Week 2 of this Real World that we'll be covering here this week is just these poll results. First, we begin with the original questions asked by me after the episode aired...

"Whose RW Bad Blood girls' story are you looking forward to most?"
● ANIKA & WILL: 5%         ● JORDAN & ORLANA: 0%
KATRINA & ANNA: 10%   TYARA & KIM: 85%
  - Out of 21 Total Votes on @DC408Dxtr
"Whose RW Bad Blood guys' story are you looking forward to most?"
● MIKE & PETER: 14%       ● ROBBIE & JENNIFER: 14%
 THEO & KASSIUS: 72%
  - Out of 10 Total Votes on @DC408Dxtr, 242 on @MTV
"Considering their long history, do you think Anika & Will will hook up?"

YES, Why Not? - 92%
● NO Way! - 8%
  - Out of 13 Total Votes on @DC408Dxtr
"And with the big twist about ready to go down in Seattle, whose side are you on?

● ORIGINAL FIRST SEVEN: 40%
 NEW BAD BLOOD: 60%
  - Out of 15 Total Votes on @DC408Dxtr

Our takeaway from these polls are that the history of Tyara & Kim will be fascinating to watch among the girls, and it's not surprising considering everything that's gone on with those two. Personally, I feel it will be big one to watch as well, though a close second for me will be Katrina & Anna and what we saw in the premiere is a harbinger of what could happen here. And for the guys, the fallout from the drug raid that ended Theo's NFL chances will definitely come back to bite him when Kassius arrives. But each of these originals do make a case for their history to be given top status - that's why they split up the show into seven stories, after all.

BEFORE THEY WERE MTV STARS:
JJ GOES TO THE CONVENTION

First, it seems fitting to post this latest edition of "Before They Were MTV Stars" in the midst of something that takes place in this country in the same year as a Leap Year and the Summer Olympics, and with its most recent act having just taken place in the city that I will be calling home for the next 50+ hours in some three hours from now -- Sin City.
As we approach decision day of a presidential campaign that's been anything but typical to say the least, there is a member of the Trifecta who has experienced what is like to be in this atmosphere of where top political big wigs come together to prop up their top contender for the highest political office in the land. Not surprisingly, he is in a field where making jokes about politicians is, has, and always has been par for the course: on the late night talk shows, on Saturday Night Live and in local comedy clubs. This week's final presidential debate will sure provide fodder for the folks at 30 Rock to make fun of when it airs later tonight with host Tom Hanks and musical guest Lady Gaga.
One of the stops on the road to Election Day in the battle for the White House is a presidential national convention held by all political parties, with the vast majority of interest being focused on the ones thrown by the Democratic and Republican parties over the summer. There, delegates from every state in the union, the District of Columbia and the outlying territories all come together in one arena to nominate their choice for their candidate, as well as outline party platforms and meet with the world's media. And, of course, there's the myriad of figures -- both big & small and in & outside the political spectrum -- giving speeches before the stage is cleared for the acceptance speeches by the party's nominees for President, and the balloons that drop at the end of the convention's last night.

Over a year before John Jacobs of the first Are You The One? season flew to Hawaii to be part of MTV history and a legendary cast -- and when he was just a local celebrity to those in Cigar City, the circus (as I like to refer to major events like these) came to his hometown of Tampa Bay, FL as the GOP party held its 2012 national convention. When he's not telling jokes in the comedy club, JJ is doing web videos for his YouTube channel, which has plenty of the fun stuff. And when the world descended upon Central Florida as the campaign rolled into town, he went to work to go around Tampa and become a man on the street to talk to political figures, media, delegates and supporters. This includes the man on your right, Newt Gingrich, who was Speaker of the House and the highest-ranked Republican during most of President Bill Clinton's eight years in the White House.
Here below are JJ's series of videos posted from that summer of 2012 when he went around Amalie Arena, site of the 2012 Republican National Convention and, for a moment, saw the funny reporter became reporter John Jacobs. Notable people included in the videos are MSNBC Hardball host Chris Matthews, former RNC head Michael Steele, FOX News contributor Juan Williams and Eugene Robinson from The Washington Post.

ANOTHER BABY!
Lastly... well, it's safe to say that wouldn't be a season in the Trifecta without mentioning anything about babies... we've sure had a good number of them in our time covering this world on here. In our RW season preview, we told you about Tyler from AYTO Season 4 announcing his incoming entry into fatherhood, and as Tony from RW Skeletons & two Challenges prepares to become a dad for the second time in nine months next month, they and so many others who've gone through this experience now have some company: another one is on the way.
It seems as if the AYTO Season 3 cast - Team Ohana - has had quite the past 13 months: two couples in Zak & Hannah and Chuck & Britni still together, Amanda & Nelson dropping into Rivals III, the many adventures of Kiki, and of course Mike making his much talked-about crossover into RW land. And of course, there's that most eventful finale and its ending 11 months ago that earned them the Underdog Award on last year's Reality Debrief Awards. Now, they have something in common with a few other alums of their show and so many others in the wider Trifecta ecosystem.

It wasn't that long ago that we were discussing inside the Strategy Room about what could possibly happen if Devin & Cheyenne could make a run at Bananas & Sarah when they were second at the end of the first stage of the Rivals III final. That didn't turn out that way, but along with Team Princess holding up to the pressure at least now there is an additional consolation prize to go along with adding to that prize money that Devin singlehandedly helped them win the $750,000.
On Wednesday while many's attention were split among Real World, the debate and baseball, Cheyenne announced on Instagram and on her 24th birthday with a simple caption news that would reverberate in the Trifecta: "the greatest birthday present in 24 years πŸ‘ΆπŸ½✨." That angel who's about to be a mom revealed her baby bump to everyone, all part of a 24th birthday party and baby reveal party thrown for her in her L.A. pad to reveal to the world her new munchkin and was captured for those on that social media platform to see. A Snapchat story captured all the excitement and plenty of dance moves for the big day, as well as her eating a cupcake that revealed the gender of who the baby would be, and it turned up pink - which means she has a baby girl coming.
She further adds on IG, "Thank you for all of the loving text, calls, and comments.. yesterday was one of the best days of my life full of love, happiness, and support! I am having a girl πŸ’—πŸ’•πŸ‘‘." We send our congrats out to Cheyenne and the Floyd family and wish her all the best.

And on that really fantastic note, we will wrap things up on our Week 2 posts for Real World Bad Blood. As we now await the collision that is the Bad Blood moving into the house to join the original seven strangers, here's just a few webcasts of significance...
● On Wednesday, pop station XL 106.7 in Orlando and the Johnny's House morning show welcomed in Anna from the cast as they discussed the season and the twist. Hear the interview here at just after the 1:20 mark of the extended podcast featuring the entire Wednesday show which you can listen at iHeartRadio - note that an email is needed to hear the podcast.
