The Look: The Busch Family Brewed

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

As we enter the month of March this weekend and celebrate a Saturday Leap Day tomorrow, we're now entering that time where we'll be spending more of that outdoors with those you enjoy your company with as we say so long to winter and hello to springtime and warmer weather. If you can feel it in the air in some parts of the country it's already here, but for others before you know it the snow will melt and the sun will shine a little bit more thanks to Daylight Savings Time.

For many of you, this will mean plenty of bonding with friends as college kids will soon travel to warmer locales down south for the never-ending madness of Spring Break. For others, it'll be time to fill out those brackets and watch college basketball's best as NCAA March Madness takes over America's sporting attention. And of course, there will be plenty of the good stuff on display on March 17 where we will all dress up in green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

From left: Billy Jr., Haley, Abbey, Christi, Billy Sr.,
Maddie, Gussie, Peter & Grace (MTV)
And it's with these three items in mind that offers the backdrop to MTV's next new reality series, taking place affectionately in one of the capitals of beer on the whole planet and deep in the heart of the Midwest. It also rekindles a tradition of MTV cameras following famous families, which includes the family of Run of Run DMC and the show that was its highest-rated until the arrival of Jersey Shore took over: The Osbournes with rock star Ozzy, wife Sharon and kids Kelly & Jack. And this show also has a coveted spot: launching in the slot after the Sitch, Snooki & their squad.

The subjects of this series are a family born into a brewing tradition rich in history dating back over a century & a half by their ancestors of their great grandparents who founded a beer brand that bears their surname and created the legacy that is Anheuser-Busch. But now as the family forges a new direction, they are ready to bring everyone to their part of the country for MTV's first reality series based in Mid-America, and to show them how to have a good time being around beer, family and fun in a series that's described as, "a perfect blend of hops, havoc and heart" --- Busch Family Brewed.

DC ExtraTime: Bad Chad Gets Busted!

If you think that all the drama on The Bachelor this winter has been all about what's been transpiring with Peter Weber and his group of suitors, then this week saw not only more twists and turns on his show, but also some fireworks off of it in the case of one of its alumni. In fact, it came on all of things, Bachelor Monday, and with the latest tale in the saga that is Bad Chad.

Four years ago, Chad Johnson made his debut on JoJo Fletcher's season of The Bachelorette -- one that has seen him and two other suitors (Chase McNary and Daniel Maguire) go later onto MTV's Ex On The Beach and a third (Robby Hayes) head onto this year's season of Siesta Key as Juliette's post-Alex boyfriend. Those who watched Chad saw him become the drama king in the Villa in him stirring up plenty of moments that spring of 2016 before he got sent home halfway through the season. And it continued when Chad went on Bachelor in Paradise later that summer, and his behavior was too hot to handle for both the cast and host Chris Harrison, being ejected after just that premiere episode the night before Johnny Bananas' steal on The Challenge: Rivals III.

After appearing on Celebrity Big Brother UK overseas and starring with a pre-daddy Jersey Shore Ronnie on E!'s Famously Single, Chad returned to reality TV in sharing top billing with another bad girl, former Teen Mom Farrah Abraham, on EOTB Season 2 last year. He stirred a vendetta with Big Brother houseguest turned 2-time Challenger Jozea Flores and fell in love with that season's lone representative of The Challenge, Bloodlines alum Nicole Ramos. Her & Chad's relationship blossomed in the house but failed outside of it where she got into it with him on the reunion show, and spilled some tea on Bad Chad on YouTube afterwards.

On Monday night, Peter's Bachelor season entered its closing stages with the final three ladies -- Hannah Ann Sluss, Madison Prewett and Victoria Fuller -- going onto their fantasy overnight dates as they flew to Australia's Gold Coast and Brisbane, Queensland before he chooses who he will be his one next week. But just that went down Down Under, there was drama of another sort taking place involving Chad that's as juicy as what the flight attendant has had all winter long.

Inside MTV Reality: The Siesta Key WRAP - Parties, Receipts and A Splash

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

We have only a few days left of this month of February (which includes a Leap Day this year), and with their wild cousins over in Floribama Shore having wrapped up an entertaining third season, after this week the drama in Siesta Key will become the focal point on our weekly episode coverage here for the rest of this winter, as the weather only heats up as does the drama.

Previously, the events of what transpired at that ill-fated housewarming for Juliette and Kelsey's house finally came to a head: the former finding out about Phone Gate finally saw her and Robby break up, and he had to face the music with Amanda which didn't turn out well. And a night of country line dancing at the saloon saw hookups with Amanda & ex JJ, and rekindled feelings for both Kels and Jared, and most especially Jules and Alex.

It seems every time we come to the Key during this season, there's another party taking place - and deservedly so as we are on the edge of Spring Break. This time, it's the birthday of the man whose crash of one party who is being celebrated at the scene of the crime, along with the man who is now an ex-boyfriend for the queen of this town. Join us after the break for those, a pregnancy scare and more on something that one castmate has that the others don't before what goes down tonight.

DC SocialPulse: Floribama Shore - The Season 3 Finale Part 2

Welcome back... it may feel like ages ago considering all that has happened since, but it was in the late autumn of last year that we continued a new early winter tradition on the MTV calendar: a trip down to Florida for a show born in the tradition of its biggest-ever hit, but unique in its own way in bringing what fans loved about Jersey Shore to the American South. Well here we are at the end of February and on the edge of the madness of Spring Break, as Season 3 of Floribama Shore is wrapping up its stay in its new locale of St. Pete Beach.

When we last left this Tampa Bay Area suburb on the outskirts of St. Petersburg earlier this weekend, a man who's been doing bodybuilding in Vegas this weekend, Jeremiah, found himself isolated from everyone - continuing a winter of discontent in losing a good friend in Gus and then getting close to his Challenge friend Mattie. So, he looked to one thing to help lift his spirits: calling brother Josh to come by, and considering what's happened the first two summers it's not gone well. And something a bit unusual but familiar took place on the group's last few nights of partying here.

That would be of Codi buying roses for Candace, and it sparked some fireworks with his good friend Kirk in the bar and back home. As we rejoin things, the house is once again unraveling as they did at the end of their first and second summers here... but the group will try what they can to work out any and all unresolved issues in house relationships before they leave. And for the king and queen of this palace, will they stay true to the saying that "third time is the charm?" Perhaps, something that's a favorite food of ours may have the answer to that.

After the break, all the action, reaction and interaction from the last night of Season 3 of Floribama Shore... plus, could there be more in that busted bromance? Join us for the 'Pulse ahead.

DC SocialPulse: Ex On The Beach Peak of Love - Truth Week

BY DC CUEVA

Welcome back... and we congratulate those of you who've stayed up all night across the pond seeing a changing of the guard in boxing as Manchester's Tyson Fury has just regained a share of the world heavyweight championship tonight knocking out American Deontay Wilder, joining fellow Brit Anthony Joshua in holding the belts in that division. This will be of great news to the section of the MTV Reality family who've made great strides the past two years: the British... they've done it on The Challenge, and now on the show that with that franchise's help brought over here in Ex On The Beach.

The fourth American season of Ex, Peak of Love, is approaching the end of its winter down under in New Zealand where Georgia and Callum have become the golden couple of the chalet. And last week saw the season's last ex arrive in the winter resort town of Queenstown in Allie's other Temptation Island ex, Cameron, sliding down the mountain. We also saw the last Hot Date get handed out in Marlon and La Demi deepening their up & down relationship by going for a ride in the sea. And we saw Adore find herself in the drama as well too.

As we return to the Peak, this week sees the third appearance of what's now become an end-of-season ritual to ask the question: Who is telling the truth? The Sauna of Secrets will evolve into the Truth Booth this week as, instead of which couples are confirmed perfect matches, a lie detector will await each of the singles and the exes who are still here with us, and no doubt this will cause everyone to lose their minds. And the results may wreck the best laid plans for that one British couple who are looking to do what no EOTB couple has ever done: seal things with a ring.

We'll have the answers to that here ahead as all the action, reaction and interaction from week 12 by the Peek. And we'll also have more on the passing this past week of the host of the UK version of the show that one of the singles comes to us from, Love Island. Join us after the break...

DELAYED EDITION
BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

We have made it to Friday and the end of the short work week thanks to the Washington's Birthday & Valentine's Day holidays last week. And we bring you into the week that was Inside MTV Reality -- well, make that the past week or so in this world as we are about to bring you a backtracked edition of the DCBLOG SocialPulse as we head towards the end of what's no doubt been an entertaining third season of Floribama Shore from the Sunshine State.

When we last left St. Pete Beach (which was a couple weeks ago our time here), we were offered with yet another new tradition being born in front of our eyes in the wild ritual of baby birding being made mainstream. But it's safe to say that Jeremiah has had a rough third summer in Florida: he lost a fellow friend in Gus, he had a connection with a close friend of his from War of the Worlds last year Mattie... but a beach day out with the group caused him to isolate himself from them.

Summer for the crew is rapidly reaching its conclusion and with spirits running low with him, Jeri is once again asking someone to come over for support from back home. It's the arrival of someone familiar that will once again strike nerves for everyone in the house, and it may not help in his cause to further deepen his relationship with the house newbie. But what happens when something as simple as flowers can spark one of THOSE moments that can only happen here?

After the jump, it's the Pulse of the first half of the Season 3 finale of Floribama Shore - delayed to this week just for those of you who got to catch it before this week's second half. And welcome to the weekend, Shore friends...

DC ExtraTime: Someone You Should Know - Below Deck's Captain Lee

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

As we've been able to expand covering MTV Reality over the years, so has the amount of subject material for us at DCBLOG to feature in these ExtraTime stories. You would think that we should stick to just covering the episodes like other sites and podcasts do, but we do this as a way to broaden the fanbase of the shows you enjoy watching to those outside the MTV fandom... and in turn, we get to introduce them to everyone through this prism. This post: no exception.

Below Deck cast at Season 7 reunion (Bravo)
Last year at this time, we got used to seeing the sights of boats out in the sea, in the harbor and by the beach thanks to Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club. Last week, we saw Marlon and La Demi embark on the season's last getaway date on Ex On The Beach when they got to go out to sea in the late winter's breeze of Queenstown Bay in New Zealand... and of course, boat trips are common in Siesta Key including on the ship owned by king Alex. And then, there's people who do this for a living and a job... and it takes place across the TV dial.

The Bravo series Below Deck debuted six months after Vanderpump Rules began airing, but it is a different and independent series from The Real Housewives franchise. Like its West Hollywood counterpart at Lisa's SUR restaurant and its affiliated TomTom bar, Below Deck documents the lives of the crew members that both work and reside on board a mega yacht during the summer charter boat season. Like other reality docuseries, the crew deals with personal hardship to ensure their careers run as smoothly as possible, and where guests have been featured during its eight seasons... same goes for its spinoff, Below Deck Mediterranean over in Europe.

A person who has been through it all on Below Deck is Captain Harold Lee Rosbach, who has immersed himself in the yachting industry for more than two decades. This native of the major city of mid-Michigan in Saginaw first discovered his love of the water while being a restaurant worker, and someone who worked with him let Rosbach know of an opening as a mate in delivery of sailboats. He did for the opportunity to earn some more allowance money on top of his job at the eatery, but he didn't know it would become a life's passion of his. And in his mid-30's, Lee received a license to become a Captain and turned his attention from overseeing waiters and food to chartering the seas, eventually seeing boats that measure as much as 160 feet in length over his time in the water.

Earlier this month, Season 8 of Below Deck wrapped up with something the Captain has never had in the first seven: not worrying about firing someone for bad behavior. But nonetheless, the season ended with barely a breeze: a longtime stalwart of the series as the longest-reigning crew member other than the captain, charter chef and six-season veteran Kate Chastain, announced on Twitter that she would leave the series to pursue a new role back in her native Florida. And in a rare moment of him losing his cool, the captain himself walked out of the reunion special last week when his fellow crew got into it verbally on set, no doubt frustrating him and Bravo king Andy Cohen.

Captain Lee most recently got to meet up with someone who himself was on a boat trip six years ago: Jay G from The Real World Ex-Plosion, The Challenge Exes 2, and who memorably made a phone cameo on Max Joseph's last episode of Catfish. The boat trip Jay went on was in upstate California on a summer's weekend during his RW season when he and his cast were sent up there while work on their Bay Area house was done to bring the seven strangers' exes to the house, including Jay's ex Jenna Compono, who has become much more well known than him thanks to her relationship and now engagement to Zach Nichols, not to mention her many Challenge seasons.

The Captain and the now-former Below Deck castmate Kate had a club night at Pool After Dark, the major happening at Harrah's Atlantic City before the reunion aired. And Jay happened to be in the same building as the two notable Bravo figures in a town that has suffered in recent years with many resorts closing in what was once America's most-visited casino town before Vegas doubled down and retook the lead. Jay captioned the picture below on Instagram, "I am the captain now.. Selfie with the captain himself @captain_lee_rosbach thank you for the courtesy @poolafterdark #belowdeck #ac #poolafterdark"

Below Deck is produced by production company, 51 Minds, who recently produced Paramount Network's Battle of the Fittest Couples with Bachelorette couple Jojo Fletcher and Jordan Rodgers (who beat four alumni who've gone onto MTV in the past two years), and who are also the minds behind MTV's next new reality series, Busch Family Brewed, which will chronicle ascendants of the famed Busch family which founded Budweiser and its longtime parent company Anheuser-Busch. We'll be profiling this new iteration of The Osbournes meet the Clydesdales on here next week.

DC SocialPulse: Ex On The Beach Peak of Love - "Breaking Winter Balls"

*** Advisory: DC SocialPulse contains adult language, objectionable content & spoilers for some readers. Viewer Discretion is Advised. Due to its length, take frequent eye breaks if you're reading this top to bottom. ***

Hello again and welcome back... love season has wrapped up as far as the calendar is concerned with Valentine's Day last week, and The Bachelor is heading towards decision day with Peter's hometown visits. And Love, MTV Style is also headed towards its conclusion for the time being as we're heading towards wrapping up the winter season of Ex On The Beach in America.

Last week at the Peak of Love, Adore found herself in a rough spot inside the Sauna of Secrets as it opened up for her to meet her ex Trenton, and he wasn't the only one to arrive as Tyranny's only ex of the season, E'mari, came coming down the mountain. And there were fireworks at the winter's last Ice Ceremony when things unraveled for La Demi when Callum got into her face.

As we return to New Zealand, the last ex of the season will arrive before one final winter ball and the end-of-season test of who's telling the truth. This also means, one last Hot Date will be handed out which will see one budding couple head out to sea and where tensions will flare and someone may be brokenhearted. And the one who's been entertaining the Drag Race fandom will have a big choice.

After the jump, the Pulse of Week 10 of Ex On The Peak, plus Valentine's Day for Team MTV, and more baby news as one who knows what it's like to to go through this over in Britain is now about to become a new dad. Thanks for joining us as we wrap up your Tuesday night here...

Inside MTV Reality: The Siesta Key WRAP - A Breakup, Apologies, and Rekindled Feelings

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

We're all back to work and to school after the long holiday weekend where we got to mark George Washington's birthday and Valentine's Day. And with the ladder in mind, the slogan that MTV's Siesta Key has used for both last year and this year is, "Love At Your Own Risk." It's no different as Season 3 rolls along down in Florida.

Previously in the Key, Juliette found herself having to deal with several things: returning back from a trip to Greece that turned out to be a trip from hell with Robby, her going to Alex's mansion to talk to him for the first time since their breakup, and apologizing to Chloe after that housewarming fight. The third item took place at Amanda's birthday party where things got testy with the crew, and where she had another showdown: this time with Alex's new girlfriend Alyssa - who also happens to be a former hairstylist for poor Jules. And while all this was going on, Cara left the Key.

With the revelations of what happened at the housewarming, Juliette finds herself at a crossroads, and there is other relationship drama with the rest of the crew. After the break, the WRAP of Week 6 in the Key before an all new episode (an explosive one, at best) goes down a few hours from now.

DC ExtraTime: From The Beach to an "Encore!"

*** WARNING: Contains Spoilers for Some Readers, Please Read with Caution ***

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB
    Estimated Reading Time: 18 MINS.

As we near the end of winter at the Ex On The Beach: Peak of Love Chalet, if you saw our uncensored look back at its first season last month we relived some of the biggest moments of that season in its raw form. We also laid down plenty of info involving practically everyone famous who has been on the U.S. version of this global dating phenomenon: Taylor Selfridge & Cory Wharton having a baby, Angela Babicz & Nelson Thomas apparing on Dr. Phil, cameos in videos with Cardi B. and Camila Cabello, the numerous reality stars who've been on here, and much more.

That first season of Ex U.S. saw plenty of intriguing romances as in the two MTV alumni who came into the house single and exited boyfriend & girlfriend, Angela's love triangle with Tor'i Brooks and Derrick Henry, the first appearance of future Challenge villain Paulie Califiore and others. Not well known much as there was the dilemma on the mind of L.A. DJ Chris Pearson (one of the three singles who didn't have any prior reality TV experience) in having a few of his exes in paradise, including Skyler Mikkelson who just announced a pregnancy last week (adding to Faith, Camila & Amanda), and an emerging singer he worked with a few years back named Chelsko Thompson.

While you were busy last month, Chelsko (who was Chris' first ex along with another, Haley Reed) added to the array of appearances of Ex On The Beach U.S. alumni outside the three mansions which have hosted the show's four seasons. But her TV return comes in a totally different world in many ways: instead of being on another romantic reality dating show, the backdrop is something she hasn't done since she was a teenager going to high school when TRL was still airing on MTV and a year before two of its biggest hits began airing.

And to sweeten the deal, the show Chelsko appeared on is not airing on a traditional linear TV channel, but streaming through the internet on the most buzzed-about video on demand platform of the past few years; where its target audience is a broader section of the population than what MTV can cater to, and whose content is as squeaky clean as the shiny windows adorning the many attractions of two of the biggest theme parks in America. And it involves something timeless: the magic and the energy that is performing live theatre.

DC ExtraTime: Before They Were MTV Stars - Triplets, Dresses... and a Situation

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

In the midst of this Valentine's Day weekend, soon the sun will set on the fourth installment of the American adaptation of MTV's global reality dating phenomenon, Ex On The Beach. But unlike the first three seasons of this version and over forty other different seasons of the show that have aired in the U.K. and thirteen other global territories, Peak of Love has taken place not on a sandy beach under a scorching sun, but at a winter resort with snow, colder conditions and plenty of heat coming from heaters and a sauna to keep everyone warm during cuffing season.

For a series that was introduced to us here two years ago by having four of its alumni from the originators of the EOTB franchise in the United Kingdom, each U.S. season of Ex On The Beach has had representation from competitors from The Challenge. Several seasons' veteran Cory Wharton starred on that first season which debuted after Vendettas in 2018, soon followed by his fellow Young Buck Nelson Thomas, Bloodlines alum Nicole Ramos and Big Brother transplant Jozea Flores on Season 2, and Cory's Final Reckoning partner Devin Walker & his ex Marie Roda in Season 3.

Peak of Love has had four past Challengers taking up residency in the chalet: Rivals 2 finalist and Real World Portland roommate Marlon Williams, his ex and several times competitor Jemmye Carroll - also an RW alum from its second trip to New Orleans in 2010, and Free Agents champ Laurel Stucky, who was the first ex to arrive when this season debuted back in December. Laurel is the ex of the fourth Challenger of this season, Nicole Zanatta, who was on The Real World Skeletons five years ago and who has made it to the final of both her seasons on Invasion of the Champions and Vendettas.

When we first saw her in Chicago at this time in 2015, Nicole forged friendships with her roommates, had a rough fight one night with one of them (Jason Hill) near the end of that stay in the Windy City, and was part of a long line of Staten Islanders to make their way to reality TV. We, of course, got to see Nicole on Invasion and Vendettas where she forged that now infamous relationship with Laurel, which in turn brought them to New Zealand during this Challenge offseason. And she's found time to do these shows in between what is always a proud duty in her part of the Big Apple: being an EMT and a firefighter, and where she also works alongside one-half of SI's most well-known reality duo: Angelina Pivarnick of Jersey Shore.

You may or may not like her, but while Ex On The "Peak" is her fourth different series she's done for MTV (having also starred on last year's U.S. adaptation of European reality format Game of Clones), you probably don't know that Nicole was on national TV before she made it onto The Real World. And before becoming the most well-known person in her household, this Staten Island native found herself in a totally different environment than when she's been in her MTV life: with the ones she's known her entire life going through picking a key element to the one magical day where love wins. By chance, this installment of Before They Were MTV Stars also stars a fascinating man with abs who returns to our TV screens with his crew once Nicole leaves the Peak at month's end.

DC ExtraTime: AYTO Meets An American Idol

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

This extended Valentine's & President's holiday weekend we're now in will, this Sunday, see the premiere of the eighteenth overall season of the show that is the epitome of when up & coming singers from across this broad country of ours take the stage, perform in front of the bright lights and who can go from being no-names to big names in the span of a few months. As the granddaddy of modern-day musical talent showcases, American Idol enjoyed a glorious run of being the most-watched show on American television for nearly a decade, and like many other programs it has not only been revived after it went off the air a few years ago, it's also a reality genre that was brought to us by the folks across the pond.

(Josh Vertucci/ABC)
The Idol franchise originated in 2001 in the United Kingdom when TV producer Nigel Lythgoe saw a TV musical talent show while on holiday (British slang for "vacation") in Australia and was inspired by that show's idea of a judge panel watching singers audition in front of them. He & music exec Simon Fuller (the man behind the Spice Girls) took that idea, added voting by phone (and later, by mobile texting) by viewers, humanizing the performers in telling their backstories, and everything going on in real life to create Pop Idol. He hired a little-known but always blunt record producer & talent scout named Simon Cowell as a judge, and the program became successful first in the UK before evolving into the more successful The X Factor, and the originating show turned its attention to outside Britain (where a local version has been adopted in nearly 50 countries), including becoming big in the United States.

After a lukewarm reception in its initial pitches to the American networks, the FOX network would ultimately and reluctantly sign onto the Idol idea in the summer of 2002. It stayed true to the original British format, but tweaked the series into airing multiple nights to show as many auditions from cities across America in the season's first phase, then ensure everyone coast-to-coast could vote for their favorite performances before the results are revealed the next night -- now standard practice for reality competition shows. The combination of incredible performances and talent, the judges and the interactivity of the voting process, saw Idol become a phenomenon in its rookie year, and saw Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson and many others become household names as did its original judges in Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon, and its host in a radio DJ by the name of Ryan Seacrest.

American Idol returns for its third season on ABC this weekend... and it's in that spirit that we'd like to tell you one small story involving an MTV Reality alum who got to meet one of its biggest alumni. A note: this does not include the two notable Idol alums who are heading towards the end of their winters in the Ex On The Beach: Peak of Love chalet of Adore Delano (aka Daniel Noriega) from the '07 & '08 seasons, or fellow alum Ryan Gallagher... but the co-subject is part of an exclusive club that only her and sixteen others are a part of.

DC SocialPulse: Floribama Shore - "Bad Day at the Beach"

Welcome back... reality TV fans tonight got to witness the first act of Season 40 of the show that brought the genre to network television in Survivor. And after those of you out west have just seen 20 past champions join Jeff Probst for the start of the $2 million season there around the tribal council campfire, we've saved a seat this late night to bring you another part of the newly expanded Viacom/CBS reality slate, MTV's Floribama Shore - which believe it or not is headed towards the end of Season 3 in Florida.

Previously down in St. Pete Beach, a night of partying saw Nilsa flash her boobs to the streets below, and the house had to scramble to bail her out of jail in the latest episode of Cops and Floribama colliding at one intersection. The reason for that night partying was for Kortni deciding to return, but the anxiety of what she had to go through led her to leave for good after another meltdown. But there was some good news in Aimee getting a message and some waxing in anticipation of her boyfriend, Dillon, coming to town.

As we return to this suburb of the Tampa/St. Petersburg area - and similar to what has happened to Juliette over in Siesta Key, isolation is once again causing one of the group to be all alone, and that will give everyone some frustration and it may drive his crush away as well. And that person will resort to a last chance to keep themselves afloat to bringing in a familiar but but not so friendly face back into the lives of everyone. And if you thought Puke and Rally is the order of the day on a party night, then wait until you find out about the latest craze taking over the house: baby birding.

You'll want to join us after the jump for the Pulse of last week's Floribama Shore ahead of the coming season finale... and thanks for joining us here for DCBLOG After Dark.

DC ExtraTime: Three Challengers, Three Babies

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

There has been an influx of news in the MTV Reality community lately with some of your favorite Challengers, and the King of Siesta Key, announcing their entries into parenthood, headlined by Taylor Selfridge welcoming her first kid and Cory Wharton becoming daddy to two girls in addition to Ryder with Cheyenne Floyd. The year of 2020 will sure see us make many congratulatory words to new parents in Team MTV in the coming year, and the first of those came last Friday, adding to a month that's certainly worth a million in the minds of the resident pop-off queen...

Last month, Are You The One? Season 3 alum and six-time Challenger Amanda Garcia held a baby shower for her new kid that also doubled as an engagement party when her boyfriend popped the question and the ring. And last Friday, they welcomed a 6 lbs, 13 oz. baby boy named Av Anthony Reinhardt, for which he captioned on Instagram, "Our family has grown by two feet 👣💙 He’s sooo perfect, thank you babe for giving me the best gift EVER!! #blessed #priceless #familyfirst." And the new baby mom wrote, "l o v e a t f i r s t s i g h t ."

Hello and welcome to Hump Day, and the one week all year where those who are into love look forward to more than any other: Valentine's Day is coming up Friday. And whether you are in love or not - and as you're planning to buy roses and chocolates for the one you love, there's no steamy romantic reality television franchise than Ex On The Beach, and winter rolls along at the Peak of Love in New Zealand.

Previously, the one who's a good friend of new Grammy winner JoJo, Jemmye, got to stir the pot for the last Fire Date of the season when Tyranny was not chosen for the date when new ex Paris was chosen over her to join Sam on a date that brought them to some bungee jumping. Meanwhile, the romance of Georgia & Callum hit another snag when his ex came by, and the Lord of the Rings was given tribute for the party.

As we return to the Chalet, the winter down under is reaching towards its conclusion but there's a lot to be had. The representative of the show whose host helmed Saturday Night Live last weekend may find herself in a precarious spot as the Sauna of Secrets opens up once again, while this week's Ex arrival may cause a welcome distraction to one of the residents. And the attitude another single has towards her Ex may lead to fireworks in the winter's last Ice Ceremony.

After the jump, the Pulse of Ex On The Beach along with more baby news and the Super Bowl, plus a bowling trick shot from a stripper who's now $250,000 richer. Thanks for joining us...

Inside MTV Reality: The Siesta Key WRAP - Newbies, Make-Ups & a Birthday

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

We've just had Hollywood's biggest weekend in all of Hollywood, as the biggest stars in movies gathered for the annual celebration of the 2019 in film at the Oscars, and with it came plenty of parties for everyone in the entertainment industry. That includes a Korean director who stole the show as his film Parasite won Best Picture and much history as they must've been playing the K-Pop in SoCal. A group of people who knows a thing about throwing galas, fiestas and pool parties is the cast of Siesta Key, and it's there that we kick off our look at last week Inside MTV Reality (and apologies as I caught the flu bug and these posts are up later than planned).

Previously - and in a bizarre repeat of what Lauren Conrad found herself with on The Hills on her first season, Juliette found herself having to make a choice between a new job she took up at a startup fashion boutique or accepting her boyfriend Robby's request to join her for a summertime trip over to Greece... and she chose the ladder rather than what LC did of staying in the mainland. Meanwhile, Brandon, Amanda, Jared & Kelsey went on a boat trip that might as well be called "Ex On The Key," for that Amanda's ex J.J. joined in on the fun. And while he's now been tasked by his dad to join Chloe to run a local pub, Alex had to deal with ex Cara one more time before she bolted away.

With him back in town, it's time for Alex to introduce his new girl to everyone... and it comes at, of course, a party - also with plenty of newbies and a chance to make things up for those two girls. The top moments and tweets of Episode 5 from the Key await you after the jump before a new episode airs tonight.

DC ExtraTime: Someone You Should Know - JoJo

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

On the post-Christmas Thursday last year, those of us who identify themselves as part of Challenge Nation were treated to a night to remember: two of those who've competed on past seasons of the fifth major pro sport took their talents to two different MTV shows in the aftermath of the two seasons of War of the Worlds. In the first hour, WOTW1 competitor Gus Symrios was joined in his Floribama Shore house by a fellow rookie from this past spring, Mattie Lynn Breaux, as the house picked up the pieces after his blowup with one-time bromance partner Jeremiah Buoni.
   And in the second half, the fourth American season of Ex On The Beach, and its winter-themed Peak of Love, provided us with a belated Christmas gift. Challenge alums Nicole Zanatta and Marlon Williams were called to join host Romeo Miller to see "Whose Ex is Next?" In came an ex of his from a few years earlier, Jemmye Carroll from The Real World: Back to New Orleans and a veteran of seven seasons of the fifth major pro sport. They had to face the music of going into the Sauna of Secrets to find out about the night he ghosted her - the reason for them being exes.

This winter of 2020 marks ten years since Jem packed up her clothes & heels, and traveled (via train, or all things) from her childhood home of Starkville, MS to New Orleans to film Season 24 in the Big Easy - the first of what is now nine seasons of MTV Reality programming that she has done. And it was exactly a decade ago tonight (as this post publishes on Friday, February 7th) that she and her castmates were on Bourbon Street to celebrate the Saints' stirring Super Bowl win, five years after the heart-wrenching experience that was Hurricane Katrina.
   It was also there in New Orleans that she met her longtime boyfriend, the late Ryan Knight, and it was only four years later on Thanksgiving that she and her MTV family were heartbroken by his untimely passing. It came only 13 days after the death of Challenge legend Diem Brown, before she and him competed on their last seasons of The Challenge on Battle of the Exes 2, for which he and Jem were partners more than two years after they broke up, and who also competed together on Rivals II and their first Challenge, Battle of the Seasons 2.

We'll be saving telling the story of Jemmye & Knight for another day... but instead, we'd like to focus the spotlight on someone well known who she's gotten to cross paths for this installment of Someone You Should Know. And it was sixteen years ago that the person who she met up with not long ago was one of the biggest pop stars on earth... and a few weeks ago, she had a night she has never had before in her musical career, as JoJo had her finest hour in the musical spotlight as she returned to the fore to pick up the most coveted piece of gold in the American music industry.

DC ExtraTime: Team Jogan Takes Las Vegas

Follow-Up to Dancing with the Chippendales
BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

TW @JossMooney
It was two years ago this winter that The Challenge, and MTV in America in general, was invaded by a group of people who those of us on this side of the Atlantic had no idea about, but who have made quite an impression on our shores. Season 31 of Vendettas expanded the big show's potential field of competitors by quite a bit when those from the United Kingdom first came onto both the show and our airwaves both on the field and in the houses of that season and succeeding ones since then. Those like Kayleigh, Bear, Georgia, Theo and Kyle have made their mark on The Challenge ever since

Perhaps, two of those who have become fan favorites to those of us in America as they were on their multiple series of Ex On The Beach (for which it was introduced to U.S. viewers by their appearance and premiered after Vendettas) have become this series' latest bromance in Joss Mooney and Rogan O'Connor. The former was part of a memorable elimination against Derrick Kosinski on Vendettas and made it to the Final Reckoning final, while the ladder went from being gone in the opening purge in Spain to ultimately become one of the four teammates on Team UK that won War of the Worlds 2 just a few months ago.

Team Jogan is relishing this newfound fame after Rogan's $250,000 payday (or, £192,000 in British currency post-Brexit) for winning that WOTW2 final with Jordan, CT and Dee - not to mention meeting Logan Paul in London when they were there for the reunion and the YouTuber for the press tour for his rematch against KSI. And given his part-time job being a stripper back home in London, it was no surprise that the Chippendales gave him and Joss a call if they could host a weekend of shows in Las Vegas.

It was before Final Reckoning premiered that Joss got to hang out with the famed strip troupe at its permanent home at the Rio Las Vegas off the Strip and donned the famed bow tie & cuff links. And last year, Vinny Guadagnino did an extended, two-stint gig of hosting with the Chippendales that was documented on Jersey Shore including when he struggled to get through the first few shows after suffering in injury in rehearsing.

Below, some of the best from their time in Sin City hosting the Chippendales and the press tour proceeding their gig on the weekend of January 24-25 (yes, the weekend before Kobe Bryant's death), plus their Challenge colleague Josh Martinez joining them in Vegas for Conor McGregor's return to the UFC and that victory over the Cowboy the proceeding their gig. They also got to hang out with Vanderpump Rules OG Scheana on her podcast, as well as Kleber Bambam of the Brazilian version of Big Brother and a friend of Team MTV, Mikey P.

DC ExtraTime 'Gram Scan: An MVP, Lovers, and A Connection

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

When it comes to the original aspect of our DCBLOG MTV coverage, there are varying lengths to the unique part of our wide-ranging palette of content known as ExtraTime. It can be a well-told story involving memorable moments from the shows you love, or offering a look at the fascinating people who are the stars of it all. And there's the fun part: people from around the world, from pop culture and newsmakers who get to meet these people.

For this latest 'Gram scan: several items of note worthy enough to have its own post -- two of them involve something that took place over the weekend down in Miami at American sports' biggest bash, and a possible next future Challenge alliance all formed by the feeling that love knows no boundaries.

  MEET THE MVP

On Sunday night, Super Bowl LIV pitted the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers in what was billed as a matchup between a star quarterback on the rise and a franchise that hasn't been to the final game of the NFL season in 50 years, against a complete team who overcame a tough period of mediocrity to become a power again. And for the first three quarters, it was a performance by the NFC champions, QB Jimmy Garoppolo and its defense, who looked poised to become the third team to win six Lombardi Trophies.

But in the 4th quarter with the Niners holding a 20-10 lead, it was a whole different story: Texas Tech alum Patrick Mahomes, who had a stellar first season in the starting job the previous season (5,000+ passing yards and 50 TD's in 2018) and won the league MVP award, and his Chiefs turned it on when it mattered most: being behind by double digits in the postseason as it was in their two AFC playoff games at home in Arrowhead Stadium. With nine minutes left, Mahomes led two lengthy drives with key long completions to Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins, and touchdown passes to Travis Kelce and Damien Williams to put KC ahead and ultimately win, 31-20 after 21 unanswered points.

His 26-for-42, 286 yard night, which also included a rushing touchdown in the first half, was enough for Mahomes to be named the youngest player to ever win Super Bowl MVP at 24 years & 138 days. Before this season, he appeared on the cover of the Madden NFL 20 video game... usually a sign of bad things to come, but after a small knee injury he became the first to win a Super Bowl after that preseason designation in extinguishing the Madden Cover Curse, as KC became the first to come back from 10 down three times in January & February to hoist football's biggest prize.

IG @TalkToMeToya
Despite the obvious fact by my social media avatars of this blogger & my family rooting for the Niners, we brought up Patrick up on this site for the mere fact that someone from The Challenge got to meet up with the NFL's new king. LaToya Jackson first appeared on Real World St. Thomas in 2012, and then appeared on three Challenge seasons: Free Agents, Invasion of the Champions, and on XXX: Dirty 30. And she's one of the most recent members of the MTV Reality community to become a new parent, as the new mommy welcomed her first kid back in December.

'Toya posted a picture on Instagram of her and Patrick posing for the camera when they met up in Orlando at the 2019 Pro Bowl, a consolation prize after his Chiefs fell short to Tom Brady and the Patriots in the 2018 AFC Championship at home in OT. She captioned, "It was just last year that we had no idea you would be a SuperBowl Champ this year🏆🏈 💪🏽👏🏽 #patrickmahomes #kansascity #superbowlchamps." And Vegas oddsmakers have the Chiefs as morning line favorites to repeat, which is good news to Challenge king Wes and the rest who are part of the Kingdom.

And along with this, Twitter posts were discovered of something the new king of the NFL had in mind: for decades it's always been a tradition for those who win the Super Bowl to appear in a commercial by Disney Parks that would ask, "You've just won the Super Bowl. What are you gonna do next?" Patrick envisioned a trip to Disney World after the Ravens' SB XLVII victory (also over the 49ers) just seven years ago, and he rode a float yesterday up the way in Orlando realizing that dream he had in 140 characters or less, just as National Anthem performer Demi Lovato had of one day doing the Star Spangled Banner before the Super Bowl.

Inside MTV Reality: The Siesta Key WRAP - Choices, A Boat Trip, & Ex On The Boat

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

There are particular reasons that we consider this winter to be Sunshine Season around here: the world converged on Miami and South Beach over the weekend for Super Bowl LIV as the Chiefs came back to beat the Niners and make a ginger-haired guy with two Challenge titles feel proud to be part of the Kingdom. And up the way there over in Central Florida, two of MTV's sunniest hits are sharing the spotlight this winter, including that beach down on the outskirts of Sarasota, Siesta Key.

It's safe to say the first month of Season 3 here has been quite a ride, and last week saw the consequences pay out of the biggest fight to ever hit Siesta when Juliette had to apologize to Chloe after the gossip queen reported her to the police in the wake of their housewarming fight, while we got to the heart of phone gate involving Amanda's missing phone being taken by Robby. One budding couple got to deepen their passion for one another when Jared and Kelsey went mudding and went up to a treehouse K-I-S-S-I-N-G, while Cara & Garrett began to grow apart. And Alex made his return to town in time for Brandon's party, all as he began to reconnect with Amanda... also sealed with a kiss as well.

After what has transpired here so far, what crazy can possibly happen next? Well... it can only get juicy, right? Choices, exes and a boat trip take over the Key as we bring you our WRAP of Week 4 from Siesta coming up after the break...
