BY DC CUEVA
Well, if you're seeking a haven of sorts from the events of the past day or so, then you've come to the right place as we welcome you back to DCBLOG and our look at Week 5 of Real World Bad Blood. While there's been drama in the campaign's last days and now with Election Day done & dusted, there has been some drama over in Seattle as the originals and Bad Blood are now united.
Last week, the principal focus was on Theo and Kassius and their stare down of who did what in the case of pot-gate. We also had Mike and Peter patch things up and then proceed to romances with two of the girls in the house. And the saga between sisters Katrina and Anna continued as the guy who's caused a lot of drama the past 11 months causes more drama with the Stacks.
Coming up as we now stand hours from a new episode: the Things to Know wrap of Episode 5 plus the results of our Twitter polls. And to give you something a bit more refreshing on this day after the Election, in ExtraTime we'll share with you some of the best of the Halloween costumes by the people of the Trifecta. Join us here next.
THINGS TO KNOW
● THEO & KASSIUS: The main focus of this first full episode of this house being at 14 people is on the two guy cousins. The episode begins with Theo and his grandma talking about Kassius and his cover-up of the police pot raid that cost Theo his football career, and she tells him to calm down after last week's fight and not get physical so that their mom doesn't get embarrassed. Katrina talks to Theo at the club, and then Tyara brings Kass into the confessional to get their sides of the story. In the ladder, Kass cries worrying about not making money and trying to get out of the hole he's in right now. Theo walks in on their conversation but then walks out.
It's not just about these two guys and their history, there's also another family issue to contend with.
Kassius opens up to Anika's ex, Will, about having a kid, which is something that wasn't even mentioned in the cast synopsis compared to what Will went through with his 10-month-old after his breakup. Kass rings up his family for an update on his son, which sees him break down in starting to feel the stress of being thousands of miles away from home and his son. And when they all head out to a day party, Theo decides to not say a work when the guys try to talk to him, but deep down inside he's not been a happy camper since the day that changed his life.
We've been starting to understand where both guys come from in this ordeal that tore apart their bond, and both just can't seem to come to an understanding of who put that marijuana in one's protein milk bottle. However, Kass holds out hope that this relationship he and his little more stubborn cousin once had will be rebuilt and Theo's open to this. If things progress as they are right now, it should be a key story to come out of this once this is all done and dusted.
● PETER & THE SISTERS (and Mike): It's not just Jordan & Mike who's been flirting in the house (the two's touchy-feely feelings continued despite not hooking up): a week earlier, Peter began to flirt with Robbie's ex Jennifer on the RV ride to Seattle. As he moves in, Peter turns his attention to Anna, and when they go to the club and everyone else gets down, the two begin to fool around. Also, he and Mike go to the confessional to hash out their fall-out behind closed doors and they take of that professionally without any drama.
Later, Peter get into bed with Anna and it's not clear if they want to seal the deal. The next day, he and Katrina try to resolve things and she tells him to treat her sis well in spite of her thinking he's just hungry for attention, someone Anna might not like. But then when they talk while doing yoga, Anna tells him her sis becomes jealous when it comes to relationships, a common occurrence in the Stack household. And then the two begin to make out... Peter's the lady's man here.
● SISTERS vs. MIKE: Something we've been watching with interest this first part of the season has been of the relationship of sisters Katrina and Anna. With everything that took place with them before Anna moved in, you would think that their bond would be scared when the twist unfolded, but so far things have been alright. But when a guy comes in between them, it will get interesting.
When Mike walks in after his session with Jordan, he begins to talk about Peter and Anna, and Katrina gets mad. The ladder and Mike then get into a fight, where he invites to the sisters about his frenemy as the rest of the house watches. Katrina gets to the point of attaching Mike, but Anna holds her back; same with Theo calming Mike down. And when everyone turns in for the night, Mike wakes up, speaks to the camera and then writes a note that reads, "F... Anna."
● NIGHTS OUT: As the Bad Blood gets used to their new surroundings, the girls and the guys go on separate nights out in the city: the girls go on one outing, the guys on another, and Peter opts to go with the girls instead. As third wheel, Peter decides to go with the girls to hang out with Anna and Katrina, and he feels like he's in that position of just going along for the ride when he's supposed to be with the guys. He pretty much gets the shaft as the guys' night sees Mike dance with a random girl and gets Kass lit up and leads to a heated talk and Theo storms out. When he & the guys return, Tya tries to tell Theo to chill but he doesn't want to talk to her.
● ANIKA & WILL: Two years ago, we all were jaw-dropped in seeing what would happen next between the numerous exes that called San Francisco home. It's pretty much the same thing with having two pairs of exes in this house full of stories in Seattle, and one of them is Anika & Will. When news of the aforementioned baby comes up, the chat Will had with Kass catches Anika's ear and they get into words after. When the group goes out, Anika's complaints about the ex continues, all while Will is back home throwing out Anika's food in the fridge. We know what the big stories of this season might be after Episode 5, but don't turn away from this tale with them.

FASHION FILE: A TEAM MTV HALLOWEEN
Last week before this country became Cubs crazy and anticipated the end to the campaign, the attention was on the annual tradition of people like us dressing up and becoming kids for a time in going trick or treating all over the neighborhood for Halloween. With trick of treating now in the hands of my kids, once again my custom was to pass out candy to the people who came to the door where I live. But, there were people in the Trifecta who once again dressed up for the various parties and events surrounding this unique holiday. It wasn't an easy thing to pair down the list of the many who dressed up for this October 31st into the ten that made the list (in no particular order and with their Instagram photos linked to their names), but we begin with the two recent members of the Trifecta to say yes to the question they got recently of "Will you marry me?"
IG @TrishelleC |
● JASMINE: This was the first Halloween for Jasmine as a mom, and for the first October 31st for baby Madeline and the RW Cancun/Challenge vet, the newly engaged mom dressed up as a blue Crayola crayon while the daughter dressed up as an adorable bunny and her fiancé just put on an anonymous mask.
● ROBB: With the election season means lots of late night political satire and Saturday Night Live steps up big time. Not anything political in this bit, but of course it's also football season and lots of school pride. Robb from RW St. Thomas and his girlfriend dressed up as the Spartan Cheerleaders made famous by Will Ferrell and Cheri Oteri back in the '90s.

● RW BAD BLOOD: For the girls of this season's Real World cast, Anika dressed up as a skeleton for her Halloween festivities (some other RW girls also had the mouth she had on in her IG pic. For Jordan, she channeled the ultra popular app SnapChat which I joined recently and decided to just get a dog's nose and ears and become a dog, mirroring its ubiquitous dog filter. And for Katrina & Anna, the sisters just went simple and donned Scream masks with knifes in their hands.
● AMBER & ETHAN (and Scarlett): This was the second Halloween for the daughter of AYTO's First Couple, and for Amber & Ethan they dressed up as characters from Pixar's Monsters Inc. as their Snapchat story documented Scarlett and them walking around the Texas neighborhood. When the Diamonds got home, and before she went to bed, the two surprised her while in their costumes.
● BRITNI & CHUCK: For another AYTO couple that's stayed together since that Hawaiian experience, for Britni & Chuck from Season 3 last year they dressed up as superheroes in the Atlanta night: he donned the Superman "S" (albeit upside down), while she decided to dye her blonde hair brown and become Wonder Woman.

● CURTIS & JENNI: Lastly, there's that AYTO 2 couple who matched up after they came home from Hawaii. Last we spoke of them here was on the Season 3 preview and since then Jenni has moved from her native Minneapolis to join Mr. "Do What You Love" in San Diego. And for their first Halloween in Surf City, they dressed up as a pirate and his girlfriend.
A NEW BABY, AND A NEWLYWED
Before we wrap things up here, we want to congratulate two members of Team MTV on two life-changers that took place over the weekend which seems now far away but still are great moments nonetheless that means so much than what's happening right now.IG @ShaneJRaines |
● And second, we send congrats to Challenge veteran Evan Starkman, who got to say "I do" to his fiancé this past weekend down in Mexico. Fellow friend Kenny Santucci, as well as RW Sydney alum Trisha Cummings, were there to witness the two-time Challenge champ tie the knot, with the former being best man, of course. We send our congrats to them and the brothers.

And on that note, we will wrap it up here for DCBLOG's posts for Episode 5 of RW Bad Blood. Usually, this is the part of the Wrap where we would provide at least one or a few links to webcasts and podcasts relating to the latest episode and the week that was in the Trifecta. But because everyone was wrapped up in the election and all else, unfortunately there is actually no links of interest to share with you here in our epilogue this week. But as always, do check out the previous episode Wraps for links to all the discussions and interviews from this Real World season so far, as well as related material from The Challenge and Are You The One?, for which the ladder concluded filming last weekend and the former continues taping overseas.
Of course, make sure to follow my DCNOW live Twitter handle for live tweets of Real World Bad Blood at 10PM ET/7PM PT at @DC408DxNow and #DCRealWorld. Also, I looked forward to this week for a bigger reason that yesterday for the very reason that it's DC BDAY Weekend, which begins tomorrow as the 3-day weekend begins due to Veteran's Day taking place on Friday, 11/11. We'll plan to have another edition of DC Playlist on Friday, and the big event is UFC 205 as Madison Square Garden is site of MMA's debut in the city and state of New York, which has been the epicenter of things the past few days. I'll again be celebrating with you all on my social media avenues, and as always include the hashtag #DCBDay in your posts across my entire network.
For here on DCBLOG, in addition to our Episode 6 coverage coming up this weekend, as mentioned on my Twitter handle @DC408Dxtr I'm also working on several compelling, long form posts that will drop in the coming weeks. And make sure to follow my YouTube channel, Instagram @DC408Dxtr, Flickr and Snapchat @DC408Dxtr1.
That's how we look at it for the week that was in the MTV Trifecta. Thanks for joining me, and talk to you later tonight.
