MTV Trifecta: Countdown to The Challenge XXX - Dirty 30

BY DC CUEVA
■ @DC408Dxtr  TW / IG / YT

Hi, hello, what's up, and welcome to our fifth year of Inside the MTV Trifecta on DCBLOG. We hope you all are enjoying your summer as well as us in taking advantage of the warm weather to enjoy the barbecue, relax on the sand-clad beaches and everything else synonymous with the year's hottest season. And after an offseason lasting just a few weeks, as well as the mid-summer's holiday week that's just past us, here in the heat of the summer we're ready to begin another cycle of covering this site's strongest passion: television's most unique, dynamic and fascinating reality ecosystem.
There's one thing this site covers like no other site in the blogosphere: one of TV's longest running franchises of The Challenge and Real World, and the new kid on the block - Are You The One?. To best brand this threesome, this best-in-class site and its webmaster fan refers to this as the MTV Trifecta. And once again DCBLOG will offer you wall-to-wall coverage of these shows from every angle and every step of the way from the preseason buildup right until when we crown champions once the leaves fall in a few months from now. Before you know it, we'll be into Season 6 of AYTO as a new group of twenty-something singles will take the stage as well as a brand new host. And also, there are two new MTV shows on the horizon that might as well become TV's next big thing, and we will discuss them here in due course.
The most recent cycle of the Trifecta, which began last October, ended last June and in between went to four countries before and returning to the West Coast, saw so much go down. First, we saw a group of Bad Blood ride up to Seattle invade a Real World house featuring an ex-boyfriend of one of this season's competitors, then saw the AYTO Season 5 cast go in the books as the first cast ever to lose the money, and Season 29 of The Challenge crown a two-time champion in CT and a surprise first-time winner in Ashley M. We also saw Devin add to his resume in joining Rashida to win AYTO Second Chances, watched ten pros take on ten champions for charity where Cara Maria & Darrell won Champs vs. Pros and Olympian Lolo Jones steal the spotlight, and witnessed a group of ten adventurists endure 40 days in Fiji being Stranded with a Million Dollars.

Now, after some vacation time lasting all of four weeks from the end of the last cycle and the start of this one, we return with our focus turning to what's ahead and what awaits us in the latest chapter of the show regarded by many as the "fifth major pro sport." And with it premiering in a week from now, this is also the first time that a new season of The Challenge will lead off a new cycle of our coverage. If what we've seen in this show's first 29 seasons is any indication of why viewers such as you and I love watching this franchise, then we are in for something epic. And fitting for a season that will celebrate a milestone this summer - in this the 25th anniversary of the start of MTV's reality TV odyssey, Season 30 promises to be the biggest one yet.
It's The Challenge XXX: Dirty 30, as MTV is bringing thirty of the show's most unpredictable and dirtiest players to the South American nation of Columbia for this milestone. This group of devious players will do whatever they can to win at every cost and compete against each other in some of the craziest, extreme and most daring challenges we're gonna see on this season. The reward for those who make it all the way to the winners circle will be something very handsome: for the first time in the history of The Challenge, $1 Million will be on the line. Of course, with seven figures at stake, fan favorites ranging from multiple champions to newcomers will be in for intense competition, and with this assortment of players here, there will sure be plenty of backstabbing and masterminding ahead both in the heat of competition and off of it too. We can expect that along with love, drama and everything else we expect from what makes the MTV Trifecta so good to watch.

This is the nineteenth MTV season we'll be devoting blog coverage to here on this site, and we'll be covering all the episodes, offer the stories behind the story of the franchise and its people, and of course being you all the social reaction in our unique style. And ahead in this first post of this new cycle, we'll give you an idea of what awaits us in the format, have a look at the entire cast, and our traditional introduction to this season's crop of Challenge newbies. And this is just the beginning: this weekend Andrew Kirk and I will discuss Dirty XXX as part of our two-part midyear Reality Debrief just before premiere day next week, and we'll afford you a chance to get involved in that at post's end.
So, get yourself warmed up, put on your Under Armour uniform and Join In with us after the jump as DCBLOG kicks off a new cycle of the MTV Trifecta, with our Countdown to The Challenge XXX - Dirty 30 from Latin America, coming up. See you there.

THE BUZZ BEGINS
(Advisory: contains adult language, please read with discretion)

First, what better way to kick off this preview than by bringing you our exclusive look at the Trifecta and the episodes as seen from social land. DC SocialPulse presents all the action, reaction and interaction from castmates, alumni and fans from the episodes and the buzz surrounding them, and we'll have all of that each weekend to kick off our weekly posts. A key element to our coverage of The Challenge, these timeline-style diaries are presented as a public service to fans of the Trifecta by this very site and powered by Twitter. And whether you're a hardcore fan who wants to experience it again or one who subscribes to an over-the-top service and catching up on all the tweets for the first time afterwards, you'll be covered in a way that only this site can bring you.
Here's how the buzz began back on the weekend of June 10th -- DC SoCal weekend when I was down at Disneyland -- when those who attended an MTV reality TV panel the Austin TV Festival were given the first world premiere of the trailer to Dirty XXX, followed two days later by MTV officially revealing the season to all of us. And after the Pulse Extra, an introduction to this season's competitors and a look at what to expect in Columbia.

 WHAT TO EXPECT

In the twenty-nine previous seasons of The Challenge, we have had a lot go down since the show began as a simple spin-off of MTV's two original reality shows, Real World and Road Rules where the channel sought a way to keep cast members from those shows in the public spotlight after their seasons had ended. And thanks to the many specials we've seen during Invasion of the Champions and Champs vs. Pros this spring, we've been able to relive so many big moments, epic eliminations, heartbreak and so much more from the fifth major pro sport.
One of the many things we have seen over the years on this show, and the others that have fed cast members into this system for a quarter-century, has been of dirty behavior and gameplay on the field and off of it. Whether it's having to steal money from your partner after winning a final, joining an alliance of your friend's biggest enemy, or even exposing what your fellow roommate did in a house you live in, the cast of this Dirty Thirty season have all had their moments which have earned them their tickets to Columbia for Season 30 and to join host TJ Lavin.
Last season, Invasion was divided into two stages in identifying those Underdogs who were worthy enough to have their time in the spotlight in the Shelter before the Champs came around to spoil at least half of their party inside the Oasis. This season 30 will see us return to what we are used to with it being a level playing field and all the competitors on this season competing in week 1, and enjoying Johnny Bananas' customary toast when they move into the house. And we'll be playing it down week to week to whomever is the final players left in this season, and they'll compete for the $1 million.

On the second Challenge season we got to cover here, Free Agents in 2014 saw, for the first time since The Duel II, an individual-based Challenge where players were eliminated one by one each week and saw the players who went to Uruguay being tested as individuals and teammates in every mission. That format will again be used here for Dirty 30, where everyone who competes here will be forced to compete on their own, but the challenges that take place each week will actually vary and they won't know what it is until they arrive at the venues. One week, they'll be divided into two or three groups, the next they could be part of a two- or four-person team, and then ones where they'll compete by themselves. No matter the format, those who win each challenge will not only gain immunity from elimination but also control of which player they get to send in at nominations.
What made Free Agents so appealing was The Draw, where a mere flip of a card determined who would go into the one-on-one elimination rounds, not by the politics and strategy we see all the time inside a Challenge house. That was where Johnny Portland gained the same wave of luck Devin had on Rivals III last year: every time he was up for possible elimination he got a blank card which gave him safety, much the same way Big D & new mom Cheyenne were spared last summer. That will be used once again for this season's elimination process, but this time it's not just the last place finisher who goes in automatically, but also those who finish in the bottom group of anywhere from 2-5 players will up for possibly going home.
And that's where things get interesting: if you saw what happened with Nelson in the Bloodbath, then he played both Cory and Shane, and led to fireworks with the former both there and on the reunion. Inspired by what happened there and on some occasions in past Challenges, the twist being used here is called the Double Cross. And instead of kill cards and black & white skulls as in the past, there will be boxes with an X and a XX inside of the drum. If a player pulls out the Double Cross, he or she can vote in anyone other than the mission winners to go up against them in the elimination chamber. If a player picks an X out, then they'll just wait for someone to pull that XX out. So, no one will be safe in elimination... except if you win each week. And eventually, this will all play down to a final handful of players, who'll go for the seven figures when fall begins.

For the six-time champion and being called the dirtiest of the Dirty 30 by way of what happened 11 months ago, in a blog post on his site Johnny Bananas wrote the following:
"With Summer in full swing, Challenge season has finally arrived and The Dirty 30 promises to be unlike anything you've ever seen. As a cast member with a decade of experience and double digit appearances under my belt I thought I'd seen everything the Challenge Gods could throw my way, but upon arriving in Cartagena Colombia it soon became clear that there are diabolical schemes even a seasoned vet like myself couldn't have prepared for. ... And this season is no different! Take everything you've ever known about a Challenge crumple it up into a ball and throw it out the window. Buckle up folks, because you're in for a wild ride!"
And one of the pioneers of reality TV, franchise co-creator Jon Murray told Hollywood Life, "We're embracing the underhanded moves. There's an opportunity throughout the season for someone to play a little underhanded and try to get on top." This, indeed, promises to be a roller coaster with a decidedly different format and a game that should be test everyone's nerves all season long.

 MEET THE DIRTY 30
For this summer's Dirty 30, each and every one of these competitors have, at one time or another, have engaged in either gameplay or behavior that has been deemed questionable and suspicious during MTV tenure. This has a mixture of both the big names diehard fans of The Challenge are used to, and newcomers to the show being introduced to this franchise for the very first time.

AMANDA: With her reputation as the "Popoff Queen" by way of her two past Challenges and her memorable AYTO season, Amanda is definitely no shy girl. Earlier this year on Invasion, the one with the freckles started rumors of Jenna hooking up with Bruno on the plane to Thailand then acted as if she had nothing to do with starting that all by herself. If what happened in Asia, Mexico and Hawaii is an indication, Amanda will no doubt be the last one to back down from fireworks.
AMMO: At first glance, you'll think that Ammo has an outer demeanor... but deep inside he has the smarts and the ability to be shady too. Last year on Real World Go Big in Vegas when he was Chris, he decided to backstab housemate Jenna when he leaked her racist remarks. But instead of taking the blame for him deciding to put it out in the open, he sat in the background as Kailah took the blame herself. Now he takes this philosophy to his first Challenge.
ANEESA: In this, her twelfth Challenge, Aneesa has been so close and yet has not cashed in. She's also no stranger to dirty play and drama, and in the first two Rivals seasons she took on the opportunity to put in Laurel & Cara Maria on the first one, then got into a fight with fellow Real World original Trishelle when the Vegas bad girl provoked her and ultimately led to her exit. And who can forget what happened with Aneesa and Diem on the first Duel?
ASHLEY M.: For the newest Challenge champion, Ashley M. has had her moments of being loud and unapologetic going all the way back to the Bay Area and her Real World. En route to winning Invasion, she revealed that inner trickiness when she validated that upset win when she decided to leave behind her fellow underdogs up in the air in their first challenge. With what we've seen from her in Thailand, the Bay and Rivals III, you never know what will happen with Ashley M.
BANANAS: There's no question that this format owe its inspiration from The Challenge's most decorated champion, and Johnny Bananas has always had a knack for using his genius of his to be shady in this game. It was nearly a year ago that he pulled off the dirtiest move of all: the payback he gave Sarah for her burning him on Exes by deciding to take all of the $375,000 in winnings from finishing first in the final and leaving her in the dust. What will happen next on Dirty 30?
BRITNI: We saw Southern belle Britni two years ago on AYTO Season 3, and wasn't one who wanted to fly under the radar. She didn't say sorry for being blunt in putting those on blast at the matchup patio or flirting with those guys she wasn't supposed to. Folks might question her about her gameplay, but Brit is not afraid of other people seeing her dirty deeds, which includes flirting with those she knows she should keep her eyes off of.
CT: There's no question that our defending guys' champion is The Challenge's biggest bad boy. CT has been in many arguments over his long tenure. He's also had a dirty record as well: a DQ while in an elimination on Duel I, his fight with Adam on Duel II, among other things. And will the presence of fellow dirty players reemerge CT's bad boy persona? Or will we see that humbled dad bod that we saw on Invasion?
CAMILA: Camila is no doubt one of the most entertaining people on The Challenge with many a great meltdown, and is no stranger to controversial moves. We saw her toss aside another Rivals III team's key during a challenge last year and denied it even if it was caught on camera. And on Invasion, her rogue streak continued to the misfortune of Cara Maria when the Exes champ wrapped her body around ropes to hang on. No doubt, Camila will be hard to shake off here.
CARA MARIA: Off of her win on Champs vs. Pros, Cara Maria not only is a great competitor she also knows so much about Challenge politics. On Cutthroat, she used her then-relationship with Abram to swing nomination votes and save her from the Gulag. On Free Agents, she convinced another team to put Bananas into elimination. And there was what happened on Bloodlines as well. With a knack of stooping low to get what she wants, what's next for Cara here?
CORY: For this two-time Challenge finalist pegged as the next generation of this show, Cory also takes on the role as resident ladies man as well. Behind those nice twinkling eyes of his is a mind with a lot of tactical strategies which are able to trick everyone else and some deceit too. On Rivals III and then on Invasion, Cory was willing to break off friendships he had outside the game to get ahead in the game, and became notorious for being aligned to some other teams. What's next for him?
DARIO: For Dario, he's also become a ladies man as well (take him & Ashley K. now), and also shares traits with Cory with dirty gameplay too. On Rivals III, he sided against Cory in favor of a vet-led alliance, and he convinced other teams to always put the strongest players elimination. He then went against his word as well as the wishes of partner Nicole to take a 180 and vote in his own alliance. Now the question here is of if he can keep his promise of have his true colors exposed.
DARRELL: There was a time before he became a dad when four-time Champ Darrell was a Golden Glove boxer who had a short fuse. Who can forget Brad deciding to go after him on the Ruins... and those who saw that got a taste of how explosive Darrell can be. As his comeback tour continues here in Columbia, no matter what dirty stuff the other players will find themselves, it's best to make sure to not set off Darrell here after an impressive run on Invasion and Champs vs. Pros.
DERRICK K.: Fellow Road Rules alum Derrick is part of the old-school generation and it's been some time since we last saw him on Cutthroat. He's always been that scrappy little fighter who proved he had some dirty to his game when he was part of the group who double-crossed Paula on The Island. As he makes his Challenge return here, Derrick has something in common with others here in being dads, and he'd like to win one for his son here in Columbia.
DERRICK H.: For Challenge rookie Derrick H., we last saw him back on Week 1 of AYTO Second Chances when he was eliminated. And that came after he took the Season 5 cast on his back and became strategy master to try to uncover the matches late in their season, and even saw him steal someone else's girl during that crunch time of a valiant effort that came up short. With him coming into this season with a girlfriend who's on this cast, what's next for who they call Team Chocolate?
DEVIN: If there's one AYTO alum who thrives on playing dirty, it's Devin with an infamous resume for mind games, masterful manipulation and sometimes questionable behavior. On Rivals III, we saw him rally his alliance to take out strong vets but then saw him turn his back on them to go with the establishment. And down in Australia, we saw him & Rashida take out his opponents by ones with worries that she could be a victim of a steal. The rest of this group should be beware of Big D.
HUNTER: Heading into Invasion, Hunter was a sweetheart, but after we saw there it's true he's become a time bomb. We've seen him play with girls' hearts to then benefit from lust-fueled alliances, and after we saw him win a challenge on Thailand earlier this year he got to call out another player who had doubts that he could stick with the big guns... and we also saw him get into it on the reunion as well. Is there someone who will get in Hunter's mind and explode here?
JEMMYE: Jemmye from RW Back to New Orleans returns two years after the passing of her late boyfriend Knight and it'll be in her mind here. She's known for more than her loose lips and ability to spread gossip: on Rivals II she wasted no time to say how she would let not want to hear from Camila anymore, only for them to tough it out and make the final. Everyone else should be aware to share any politics with her because the dirty laundry will sure be brought out in the open.
JENNA: Jenna is that sweet girl-next-door who the Challengers like and who has made it into three finals as well... but there's that dirty side to this blonde. Remember what happened on Bloodlines when she got into words with her own cousin Brianna about the bakery their parents worked at? Or how she was able to form an alliance last season with a fellow bad girl who no one liked on Invasion? Jenna is no doubt ready to tell everyone that this Barbie Beast is one to not push around here.
JORDAN: For the Exes 2 champ, Jordan makes his return here to Season 30 as well. And for the RW Portland alum, his dirtiest moment came when he wanted his chance to go up against Johnny Bananas on Free Agents and decided to pull all three kill cards to get his shot at the champ. He came up short there, but it was his tenacity that proved that nothing will stop him from getting a shot at facing an enemy and risk harming his ego. What's next for Jordan here?
KAILAH: When we first saw the RW Go Big alum on Invasion, Kailah came in with no plans to make friends in Asia, and instantly bonded with good girl Jenna. When she was put into that first elimination, she not only won but also blew everyone away in proving she's no cupcake when it comes to competing and one no one else should face. Having just met the guy they call The Money Man, Kailah's quick to open her mouth and ready to play dirty to cash in here.
LATOYA: On Free Agents, we saw Latoya be on the short end of the politics when she was put into elimination, but then shut down the doubters in winning that season's first elimination. And just on Invasion, we saw Toya use all of strengths to try for a spot in the house, even winning a night in the shelter with one guy there but falling short in the end. Now for this St. Thomas alum, will this girl go through unharmed to go all the way?
LEROY: For someone who's as well liked and respected as Leroy is, the question is, why is Leroy one of the Dirty 30? Usually one to fly under the radar, he isn't as innocent as first, and what we saw on Exes 2 was proof of that. When he made a deal with Zach, he then met up with Wes to change alliances and thrown in Thor. And that blindside saw him do the dirty stuff on his way to cashing in the Exes final there. Now, who's gonna be safe around Leroy? Bananas isn't included there.
MARIE: As Marie graces our screen again, her being here is because of what we saw on Battle of the Seasons II. When she tried to save herself in Turkey, she decided to gang up on another team in a challenge there. And when her other players tried to throw her St. Thomas team in (her and ex Robb), she did whatever she can to try and get out of it in playing dirty, and got put in anyway. And to add more to that, she went off on the entire house... including a house pot. What's next for 'Ri?
NELSON: The most recent example of Challenge dirty play comes to us thanks to Nelson: on Invasion we saw him tout his loyalty to the alliance he built in the Oasis. But when those in his inner circle were dwindling, his devotion to them went down too. And in the first-ever three-way elimination battle, Nelson made a double deal in secret: one with friend Cory and the other with Shane L. And when he barreled to the bell there, the rest is history. What's next for Nelly T?
NICOLE R.: Nicole is no lady you can mess with, just as it was for cousin Nany. Last year on Rivals III, we saw her defy her own blood when she told partner Dario of Nany's alliance with another player there. When it was uncovered, Nany could do nothing but blow up on Nicole over this mistrust, and led to them battling it out in elimination when the ladder won. With her on her own here, Nicole will have to go through this season forming new alliances.
SHANE R.: For the Bloodline rookie and brother of a two-time dad, Shane is not afraid to put anyone on blast...not even Tony. And when he saw that he had a bad attitude in Turkey, Shane decided to stand up to him, escalated into a shouting match which turned into blows. And it's not just the Raines circle: he's also gone low on social media in gossiping and put it out there in the open if he sees questionable behavior online. Will that happen again here or will Shane coexist with the 30?
SIMONE: Simone has made her presence known ever since we saw her enter that AYTO house in Hawaii. There was what we saw on Exes 2 which we never saw, but on Rivals III she decided to go all in on Tony for starting rumors of her wanting to get in bed with him. And she also had fights with Ashley M in the house that almost led to her exit. There's no doubt she won't back down when it comes to competition... house will be on alert for what Monie has in store next.
TONY: It seems controversy has followed Tony from when he entered the RW Skeletons house to right into The Challenge, and he's been making a lot of waves since. On Bloodlines, he not only cheated on Madison back home but also got into punches with Shane. And then on Rivals III, his bad boy behavior got the best of him when battles he had with partner Camila led to them getting the heave-ho. Will the old Tony reemerge, or will the new Tony persist and make it to the end?
TORI: AYTO Season 4 alum Tori comes to Season XXX after some rest following a 2nd place Second Chances showing and with not only being well-rounded and genuine who's not fun to hang out but also smart as well. What brought her here is by way of what happened in Australia where she made enemies with Devin, and also having the skills of politicking to perhaps make a rookie run here. Will that translate again here?
VERONICA: For our last person, Veronica is the latest to make their return engagement after time away. She is a Challenge original bad girl with three titles to her credit, and this Road Rules alum of 18 years ago knows how to go at this game hard. She has manipulated votes many times and even encouraged teams she's been on to throw challenges to take the weak links out. She's ready to show everyone how to play this game dirty, just as her predecessors have done for many years.

 WHO ARE THESE NEWBIES?

A stated vision in our preseason Challenge previews is that we want to make sure that you don't meet a new or returning competitor before the season begins. To that end, since we began covering The Challenge on this site, we offer an introduction, background information and previous show history to every new competitor for the sake of longtime hardcore fans of the show, and to returning players in the interest of new viewers watching for the first time. Check out each of our preview posts (24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29) for more on all new competitors that have emerged since Rivals II.

ROOKIES
AMMO: We first saw Ammo, aka Chris, on Real World Go Big last year down in Las Vegas. He came there from New York via Salt Lake City where, while living a new life in the Big Apple, began to accept himself and his "pansexuality" as he began to fight religious discrimination and becoming an advocate for LGBT people while, at the same time, turning his back on his conservative family.
While the leak he exposed in Vegas brought him to this season's cast, Ammo's most notable moment in Vegas came when he went across the way into the Utah capital to send in his resignation letter to the Mormon Church after the Ladder Day Saints angered LGBT allies when they denied granting baptism to kids adopted by gay parents. Later after the season, Chris went on Twitter to go after 53 U.S. Senators who had rejected enforcing stricter gun control laws in the wake of the Pulse Orlando tragedy. We'll be revising those in an In-Depth on Ammo during this Challenge.
BRITNI: Britni made her MTV debut along with Devin, Amanda, Hunter, Nelson and the Season 3 AYTO cast almost two years ago. In her bio, MTV wrote of the Augusta native, "Britni may be sweet as a Georgia peach but, this beauty queen has a taste for the wild side. She knows her best assets and she isn't afraid to use them to her advantage."
In Hawaii, she developed her own unique personality in being able to make her voice heard at the matchup and flirting with guys out of bounds, as we noted above in our cast capsule. In the end, she came out of that experience with a boyfriend in tow -- Hawaii resident Chuck, and the two would stay together after that season and beyond... they are still together even today.
DERRICK H.: Derrick H. is on his third MTV show of this year after we first saw all the way back in January on AYTO Season 5. He came to us from South Carolina where he was a star college athlete who also worked towards getting an Master Business Administration degree. There, he played college basketball at The Citadel and at Winthrop after playing high school ball near Atlanta.
On his AYTO season, he found himself in some drama, no bigger than a drunken house fight he had with Michael late in the season where after they had seen the same girl in the house and him deciding to swoop in. He then took command of their failed strategy by conceiving a plan that saw them get to nine perfect matches in week 9, only for Shannon to screw up that week and then lose the next week.
TORI: For Tori, we met her last summer on AYTO Season 4, where she came to HawaiI with a background in music and working red carpets for the Worldstar Hip Hop site (we'll share with you some of that here later on this season). She possesses a strong ambition and drive thanks to that hip-hop career and, like this guy does with this very site, she does all the promotion by herself.
In Hawaii, she was part of some of the drama and house fun as well -- including most memorably putting Gio to sleep in a rap battle. But the big drama surrounded her and perfect match Morgan, which then translated afterwards to Second Chances where in both instances they went into the boom boom room while en route to the cash in Hawaii and then 2nd to enemy Devin down under. And there's her brief relationship with Morgan's roommate, Mike from AYTO Season 3 and Real World Bad Blood, which ended when Magic Mike cheated on her when he got close to Jordan in Seattle.

RETURNEES
DERRICK K.: We first saw Derrick K. on the final season of Road Rules back in summer 2004 when he went on that RV trip around Europe. The Chicago native described in his bio as confident, cocky and energetic who was a high school sports captain and coaching youth football. He went through everything wild and extreme, including putting on boxing gloves and being able to show his intensity and athleticism with his unmatched heart despite his fairly small size at 5'6".
That would translate into doing nine Challenges starting on Battle of the Sexes 2, recently on Cutthroat in 2010, and amassing three titles - Inferno III, The Island and The Ruins and over $175,000 in winnings. He's strong, determined and feared, and also one who preferred to leave the strategy, politics and drama to the rest of the house and simply fly under the radar. He was also Diem Brown's partner on Fresh Meat I and heard from her first about her cancer diagnosis, and was in Washington, D.C. along with other Trifecta alums when her late sister Megan went to Capitol Hill. And Derrick is also a podcast pioneer in doing one of the first podcasts related to the MTV world.
● VERONICA: After we saw her for the first time in some eight years on Champs vs. Pros, Veronica makes her ninth start on Dirty 30, some eighteen years since we first saw her on Road Rules: Semester at Sea in 1999. There on board a cruise ship, she and her cast traveled around the world in lieu of an RV in taking studies and traveling to many countries in getting a glimpse of what would await her in her Challenge career.
It began on the first Challenge I got to watch, Challenge 2000 when she and Team Road Rules won that season back when it traveled across the country. Veronica then appeared on Battle of the Seasons I, Battle of the Sexes and The Gauntlet when she went to the final with Team Road Rules and won in Colorado along with going into a hot tub with her longtime friend Rachel and Abram. En route to her second Challenge win on Inferno I came two Veronica moments: first, Julie tried to unhook her from a harness while above ground, then she got into a heated argument with fiery Road Ruler Katie. V's three wins are tied for the most among female challengers.

After all that, we have all this time until next Tuesday. Let's have some fun.
