When we left Malibu previously, the house got shook by the entrance of not one, but three exes to the house: Corey's ex Sha dove into what's already a twisted love triangle... one which was enhanced further Morgan & Jay went on a date and her sister Alex crashing it. But the two other exes who came by are more well known to the MTV crowd: Malcolm's ex Nurys invaded the beach to again put him & Diandra under the same roof, while Nurys herself had to see her ex Nelson of Challenge and AYTO fame... and she wasn't having it, nor did her & Didi with Maya & Janelle.
For this week, the focus shifts for one of the singles to having their day in court and it's what happens when they come home that they show their support for them despite wide public disapproval outside the house. There is also a bit of jealousy when it comes to the love triangle that has those in the cubicles of a former Viacom corporate sibling watching this show very intently when an intimate truth gets put out there. And at our second elimination, we as viewers will understand once again that while we can expect the unexpected, sometimes history can repeat itself.

So, halfway through this season we have a double elimination: Nelson casting his last vote to send both Maya's ex Kareem and Murray's ex Cory Z. home. And that comes after a fight with Jay and Corey over Morgan, Farrah coming home to a hero's welcome, and the Nurys/Nelly drama continuing. We're about halfway through Season 2.
THE LOOK AHEAD
THE CHALLENGE TAKES OVER UNIVERSAL ORLANDO

In case you have been living under a rock, this week saw the launch of The Challenge: War of the Worlds which kicks off in some 17 days from tonight, three days following what will now be another championship matchup between teams representing Boston and Los Angeles with the Patriots facing off against the Rams in Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta -- a rematch of Super Bowl XXXVI where Tom Brady's legend began. But as we mentioned here earlier, the interaction we usually feature in our Pulse diaries is being saved for our preseason series which gets underway here this coming week -- hence, the shortened nature of this post.
Lately, one of the things MTV and its content production arm, Viacom Velocity, loves to do is to link a corporate sponsor to one of its shows. During Invasion and then during Vendettas, The Challenge has teamed with Universal Orlando to host several competitors for a mini Challenge that will air during the episodes. We've seen Zach, Laurel, Hunter, Cara and others compete at Universal Studios Orlando doing what they do best in the Florida sun.Last week - and to help appease the Challenge fandom for the influx of newbies taking over this world, a group of big-name veterans from seasons past gathered for the latest special Challenge at the Islands of Adventure. Alton, Darrell, Derrick K., Emily, Tori H. and Veronica were chosen to put on the jersey one more time for the sake of fun... which it should be the case given the recent negativity in social world lately among the MTV Reality family. Between these six, they have many finals appearances, twelve Challenge titles and the first two Champs vs. Stars MVP's to their collection. And above is a picture of them with a worker at Universal Orlando while they were filming there.
While we've been able to see Darrell, Derrick and Veronica represent the old guard of Road Rules, Emily continue an unbeaten run during the Champs' dominant run on Champs vs. Stars I and Tori move along in parenting after her publicized divorce from Brad, in the case of Alton he recently helped to shine light on a story that was put into focus during his original Real World Las Vegas season in 2002, and we'll be looking at that story later during this upcoming season.

On Monday before we shift our attention to preseason coverage of War of the Worlds, ExtraTime will have some fun with a Real World and Challenge alum who had a successful 2018 as he and his friends take over the stage of one of the most viral hits in all of television. Good night friends...
