This week sees the kick off of a special six-week mini season of The Challenge in Champs vs. Pros, as NFL star Victor Cruz takes over for TJ Lavin as host of this season full of all-stars from all around the sports world as they take on seven champions we just saw on Invasion of the Champions plus three more making their return. Here, it's Olympic athletes, NFL stars, and an icon of fight sports, taking on the likes of Bananas, Wes, CT, Cara Maria, Camila and others in the SoCal sun for not just glory but also charity as well.
But first, as the co-feature to this week's Challenge Tuesday, there's the always-entertaining conclusion to any season of the Trifecta: the Reunion, and for The Challenge, it's Invasion of the Champions with a true MTV icon. And to help commemorate the 25th anniversary of Real World this weekend - Season 10 Back to New York alum turned WWE Champion Mike "The Miz" hosts the big show as many of the castmates gather to discuss rivalries, friendships, hook-ups and more from Thailand... and plenty of drama too.

So, a heated final conclusion to season 29 of The Challenge in a reunion that was certainly more entertaining than the final itself with plenty of fireworks from just about everyone on set. And quite the opening salvo for Champs vs. Pros as we saw someone who has been doubted all her life, including on this premiere, in Lolo Jones becoming the breakout star for the pros winning her pros elimination. We'll have more on this on the WRAP coming up in a few days.

#TeamMTV GRADUATION DAY: 2017
As evidenced by the 80's, 90's and 100's forecast for California and Nevada this weekend - and certainly not in Amanda's snowy Colorado surroundings, the weather in much of the country is now starting to warm up to seasonal conditions, a week out from the unofficial start of summer: Memorial Day Weekend. This also means that if you are reading this blog and you're in your late teens or early 20's and a senior, then you're anxious for what will be the biggest day you will experience in this adolescent stage of your teenage or young adult life... perhaps, you have just lived that dream.
Of course, it's graduation, as tassels will be donned, diplomas are handed out and all of you will have a true coming of age moment like those girls on My Super Sweet 16. And this weekend, or coming up in a week or so for some of you, colleges and high schools will be the place to be where you live for commencement and promotion ceremonies. This would only mean that in addition to what's on the charts right now, as we noted here last year, graduation-related songs will be in that playlist as is the time-honored summer standard "Pomp and Circumstance."
In the last Trifecta cycle that spanned from AYTO Season 3 to AYTO Season 4 with two Challenges and a Real World in between, we looked at AYTO alums and Challenge competitors Briana and Anthony, Cory's bloodline Mitch and the object of Devin's affection in Hawaii, Kiki, as they went through the life-changing experience of walking up to the graduation stage to receive their college diploma and enter a new phase of their lives. And not long ago, we looked at Nicole's big moment: graduating the New York Fire Department Academy and becoming a firefighter.
There is just one person we're spotlighting this graduation weekend and also - as we mentioned at the start - the 25th anniversary of The Real World, and this takes us back six years. There in 2011, we went to Las Vegas for the second time in the show's long history as it hosted season 25. We had to endure the delusional behavior of a guy who is now a lawyer in Adam, but also saw the first appearance of Challenge mainstays Nany and Leroy, and everything you could want to have in a memorable Real World season, taking place in that fantasy playground.
There in Sin City, she became close to fellow roommates Naomi and Nany, where she had a sensational girl on girl hookup with the ladder during the season. And like many other Real World'ers, Heather found herself in love with a roommate, and from the moment she laid eyes on him when they moved in, she knew she was in love with Dustin. That relationship first took flight in the club in the premiere and never let go… not even an early forced hookup with Dustin's rival Mike and one of the Real World's biggest jaw-dropping moments when his past with gay adult pornography put him in US Weekly and their relationship on pins and needles. But through that, their relationship persisted for some time after Vegas, including stints on Battle of the Exes and VH1's Couples Therapy.
This past week, Heather entered that real "Real World" when she joined with over a thousand of her fellow graduates (a third of them undergrads) as they graduated from Philadelphia University, a private university in the city, and held their commencement at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Center City, which is how the locals refer to downtown Philadelphia. In the comments on Instagram including in one photo embedded below, Nany wrote, "So proud", while Ashley K. added, "Congrats pretty girl!" And for another Exes competitor whose graduation moment is this weekend, Priscilla from Real World Back to San Diego (and Ashley's roommate by the ocean) wrote, "Omg me next! Congrats bb!!!"
Heather was hardly the only well-known person in the house: a true icon of the City of Brotherly Love, Sixers legend "Dr. J" Julius Irving, gave a keynote speech and received an honorary degree. There, the Doctor told the crowd, "Innovation means you're playing offense, not defense. You cannot wait for your destiny to become a matter of chance. You must always keep it as a matter of choice." Wise words for a man whose last NBA game was 30 years ago, all part of a day full of joy and excitement for everyone including the Marter family.

Still ahead this weekend: we'll be catching up with a Road Rules and Challenge veteran and a good friend of one of the Champs on this season and who has good news to share with everyone.
