MTV Reality WRAP: Siesta Key - A Fashion Show, an Ex Returns, and Moving Out

We've arrived at the end of a week that's seen one of the biggest MTV franchises find itself meeting with a sudden final reckoning, but it's also one where the one sport that's kept us entertained this spring & summer is also having its last act. We'll have the ladder covered in short order along with yet another hookup in the Double Shot abode ahead in this week Inside MTV Reality, which begins with an appetizer down in Siesta Key.

When we last left Florida, just about everyone in town was shook by the news being scooped by, of all people, Chloe that Alyssa is pregnant with Alex's baby... and when that was relayed to her Juliette was reduced to tears all around some pizza and wine. Elsewhere, things are alright again for Brandon, who's now back together with his former girlfriend Camilla and who's now working a real job... but you can't say that for his ex Amanda after she & her ex JJ got into it at his birthday party at her place.

Now, things are about to get even more juicy in the summer heat: someone moves out because of one's sketchy behavior of spreading something other than a virus, an ex decides to make his return to town, and a familiar scenario from years back makes its way out east as another prestigious event goes down. After the jump, we begin our now weekly recaps of Season 3B of Siesta Key, plus some historical background to a big moment of this week... and welcome to the weekend.


 THINGS TO KNOW 
SEASON 3B - Episode 5

☀️ RUMOR MILL: If you've been with the show from day 1, you know that Chloe has earned her title as the most-trusted source for gossip in the Key, and her being able to find out about Alyssa's pregnancy may have those news operations ringing her up to become an investigative reporter. But for now it's matters with the clique that she has to report on, but is she getting into everyone else's business a bit too much? While at lunch, Chloe tells the girls of what Alex and Alyssa have in store...


☀️ MADISSON MOVES OUT: It's because of Chloe's way of reporting the facts and her meddling with everything taking place that has the one who's been living with her think that enough is enough, for now. While meeting up with Kelsey at her house, Madisson decides to take it upon herself to tell the gossip queen to keep everything in check... and she chooses to create some space in her friendship with Chloe... quite literally -- as in moving out, and taking a step closer to heading out to Ish's.


☀️ HERE COMES JAKE: The Halloween party that turned into Siesta's own Ex On The Beach has seen exes drama translate from Malibu to Florida: last week it was Amanda & JJ, and before that it was... well, a boat load of others. This week, it's the turn of Jake to enter the picture again after he and Kelsey had a thing going earlier on this year, leaving early to head home to tend to his dad's death. Jake returns here while she & Garrett are reconnecting... see what happens below.


☀️ FASHION FAUX PAS: While she deals with the baby bomb, Juliette is going along with pursuing fashion and her new job. Her bosses offer her a new opportunity to oversee a fashion show taking place at a local house, and whenever it's uncharted waters that a new person ventures into it might be as daunting as, well, a rookie going into a Challenge final. Jules does a reasonable job in doing her first fashion show with one major slip-up: Madisson falls down... but she doesn't fall into the water.

 ENDGAME: Flashback 
"EVERYBODY FALLS"

For some context to what went down this week, those of you who know your MTV history well are no doubt aware of the adult version of the two series that inspired Siesta in The Hills. The main star of four & a half of the six seasons of that series was, of course, Lauren Conrad, and she had her eyes on a career in the fashion industry once she left Laguna Beach for L.A., and this is what Juliette has on her mind as we saw her do that fashion show.
   LC cut her teeth in this world for the first time when she & Stephen Colletti headed to a fashion show during Season 1 of Laguna, and it was she herself who helped to coordinate a segment on classic outfits for ABC's Good Morning America in association with Teen Vogue magazine during 2006 Oscar Week. And one of the models who got to show off those clothes was one of the other main characters on The Hills, her fellow intern at the magazine Whitney Port, who joined with a few others to show off clothes worn by attendees to Hollywood's biggest annual extravaganza.
   But unlike what was the case for Jules here this week, the Teen Vogue segment aired on live TV in front of the entire country. And because GMA airs live to the east coast every morning, it also took place before sunrise on the west coast and before rush hour out in L.A. at roughly 5AM. It always makes for a recipe for disaster whenever people have to get up in the middle of the night to prepare for something to take place before the kids wake up for a ride on the school bus.
   And while she and the models were stepping down the stairs, it was Whitney who took a fall - and Lauren had the same reaction that a lot of viewers had: their jaws being dropped. It is always the fear that comes with anyone who does live television: you get just one take to get it all right... and when she got done doing that GMA segment Whitney got emotional about it. But as they did with Madisson, it's just one bad moment that happened at the wrong time, just like Murphy's Law.

This Siesta Key WRAP is coming to you a few days earlier than in the first few weeks of this second half of Season 3, and this plans to be standard for the rest of the summer... same goes for last night's episode of A Double Shot at Love, which we'll cover here tomorrow as a familiar face pops in. It all leads up to the week's main event and the Pulse of The Challenge Total Madness finale, as a man the Siesta Seven met at the 2017 VMA's goes for an untouchable 7th title in the trenches of winter.
