MTV Reality WRAP: Siesta Key - Comings & Goings in the Caribbean

On the heels of an eventful Father's Day & Juneteenth weekend, today is the Summer Solstice - best known popularly as the longest day of the year and the first full day of summer. And while you're just chillin' with a beverage in hand, our journey Inside MTV Reality at DCBLOG is plowing along with just one show we're covering on a weekly basis this summer 2021 now that The Challenge is into its offseason... though we had the pleasure of having a video postcard last week from TJ Lavin from Croatia, where a new season will commence at summer's end. But fitting for the hot times you and us now partaking, it's Siesta Key that is the focus of our summer on this site on the MTV front.

As you all are anxious to finally be able to get out of your hometown and travel, the Key crew is spending part of their summer in the Caribbean... and last we were in paradise, they were on their way from Florida to Palm Island in Saint Vincent & the Grenadines. With their extended vacation down south, that meant Brandon having to say farewell to his son but it also meant that he had the time to bring us the latest steamy MTV hookup with the one who made Juliette's painting in Jordana, just as her subject had to deal with having her man invite Kelsey along for the ride. And his ex also made a painful revelation of her having suffered a miscarriage... and had things gone her way, than BG would've found himself in the shoes of a fellow Challenge dad: being a dad to two kids.

We've had to wait quite a bit for Week 2 of the Caribbean Key extravaganza owing to country's best taking the stage in Nashville at the CMT Music Awards, but after the break get yourself set for one person deciding to take the rest of their summer off and many more arrivals to Palm Island including a potential tropical storm. And thanks for joining us on this 6/21/21 summer's day...


  THINGS TO KNOW  
EPISODE 5 ▪ "Happy to See Me, Right?"

😘 CHLOE'S LAST WAVE - When Sam invited everyone to come along for the flight down to the West Indies, there would eventually be just one person who would decline that invite. Given what we have seen from her during this show and the strides she has been making to try & better herself, Chloe decided that it would best that she would not fly down for this trip to protect her mental health. But after getting texts from the island of how she is doing, she sends the following video to the group... and despite inklings from a couple of the ladies about it, this is indeed Chloe's last wave in the Key.


😐 CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE - With being part of this power clique, there's always the possibility that those who are part of this might encounter some pitfalls when it comes to having to take sides. This latest instance sees Amanda finding herself in the middle of the row that has ripped apart Juliette and Kelsey and their dueling plans to take over fashion. Here, there's the precarious scenario that both came to the islands to do photo shoots for those lines, and that even the same models will be used for those pictures. And you thought this was gonna be smooth sailing... it won't be.

💏 CONSEQUENCES OF HOOKING UP - Whenever some as scandalous as someone hooking up in front of your eyes, there's always bound some consequences. It's not just the many times Jules hooked up with Alex, but also Madisson's sister Paige kissing Canvas, and the list goes on. In the case of this last instance of Siesta Hookups, it was Brandon kissing Sam's ex (and Juliette's portrait painter) Jordana on the beach... and BG's ex Camilla had a front-row seat. After trying to talk things out earlier on at the engagement party, she finally gets to the heart of that Jordana kiss as she confronts him below...


⛵ MORE ISLAND ARRIVALS - When we flew down south, much of the group were aboard that private jet to start their stay in the islands, but due to certain matters not everyone joined Jules & friends and frenemies for the first few days. That changes here with the queen's star Instagram friend Serena Kerrigan flying in from the Big Apple to help her out on her best laid plans, along with Garrett & his girl Kenna. And below, they arrive in the Caribbean but one entrance stands out among the others, and it's not any of those three.


💣 HERE COMES CARA... - Season 2 two years ago saw Jared spark that infamous backyard brawl, but it also saw Alex's ex Cara also arrive to his birthday party... and she instantly turned her attention to Garrett. Their relationship lasted for a bit until a dramatic meltdown last year by the boat led her to bolt away back to the Big Apple, and it was there when Madisson met her when she was in New York to make things up with Ish. Just before Cara arrives on the island, she explains to Kelsey why she decided to invite Cara to the Caribbean... and surely this will not be a pleasant sight to her fitness guru ex.
