But when it comes to those on TV's most-revered reality network getting pregnant and becoming new parents, there's one other MTV show where those instances are worthy enough to make tabloid front page news than Teen Mom, and twelve years ago this month saw the birth of a franchise that's actually longer than Jersey Shore when predecessor series 16 & Pregnant made its debut. Teen Mom 2 is currently into its 12th year with Jade Cline of Young & Pregnant (aka Teen Mom 4) replacing Chelsea Houska who departed the series last year, joining originals Kailyn Lowry and Leah Messer, and relative newbies Briana DeJesus and Ashley Siren who joined TM2 from other spinoffs of the show.
For those of us who have been more than entertained by two seasons of The Challenge airing this first half of the year - and who also follow three other shows in that first paragraph, there is reason for some of you to at least have some interest in Teen Mom. It's for the fact that the rest of the MTV Reality world is represented in this sorority by the ecosystem that surrounds the franchise's first person of color to be a leading figure in either the OG or TM2 shows - and who's also a close friend of Ashley's. And in what's been an amazing past six months for Cheyenne Floyd, it has culminated with saying "yes" to a proposal and welcoming her second kid in the space of only thirty-five days.
Last year around Yuletide season just as he was embarking on Double Agents, it was Cheyenne's turn to mark the holidays with her announcing the impending arrival of her second kid. A picture of her on the beach with her growing family revealed to everyone that she was expecting, which brings the number of playmates in Challenge Nation's Teen Mom representatives to three... and in a gender reveal video on New Year's Day, the sex of that new kid was revealed: blue coming out of a flying helicopter over the Floyd house, emblematic of a forthcoming addition of a baby boy.
This winter's season of Teen Mom OG featured that gender reveal -- done under strict guidelines with everyone being tested and having to quarantine prior to coming to her house and before the widespread vaccination program has brought us just about back to normal. And when we rejoin Chey and friends in in a few months' time (along with perhaps seeing the Young Buck on back to back nights again), we will be getting to witness the two latest chapters in her life, the first of which came back in April. And as it was for another fellow member of AYTO's most successful cast ever, this came at her baby shower.
The second and other celebratory element of every impending parent's journey to parenthood comes when family and friends gather to give the mommy to be gifts aplenty during the second trimester of any pregnancy. But obviously, baby showers like these in its traditional form have been far and few between during this pandemic... and as it was for the gender reveal everyone invited to join Cheyenne and her boyfriend Zach Davis again had to play it safe on the healthy side before joining them amidst the sight of teddy bears, balloons, cakes, desserts, Instagram-ready picture displays and a whole lot of other goodies for what became more than just a gathering of friends to honor the new mom.
Two years ago, someone who joined Chey, Cory and his eventual Young Buck ride or die Nelson Thomas on that Rivals 3 Challenge, Amanda Garcia, also marked the arrival of her first baby by also saying "Yes" to an engagement ring from her then-boyfriend at her baby shower... but their engagement soon crashed to the ground after some caught on camera misbehavior. But here when night fell in their baby shower gathering, a blindfolded Cheyenne took off her beauty mask to see Zach eventually pop out the ring and pop the magic question to who will soon be his wife. And he also gave a promise ring to young Ry Ry, which is a small and scaled-down replica of her mom's engagement ring.
Chey wrote on the IG caption above, "speechless... We said Yessss! Today was perfect! I can not put it into words yet but this is a moment I will cherish forever 🤍 thank you @z.terrel I love youuuuuu!!" And Zach in his caption added, "She said yes! Put a ring on both of their fingers! I love you fiancé @cheynotshy today we celebrate a lifetime together!" And when this engagement was announced, of course the social world got to say their congrats for what would be the first time in a month & a half.

And then a week ago, the second big moment for Cheyenne & Zach: when she revealed her pregnancy last winter it was during the second trimester... which made sometime in spring 2021 the arrival due date. And late last Thursday night before 11:30PM PDT at the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend that Ace Terrell Davis was welcomed in the arms of her and Zach, weighing 7 lbs. & 2 oz.
A caption on the new dad's Instagram read, "(Bro•ther) n. 1. A best friend for life 2. A builder of forts. 3. Teller of stories in the dark. 4. Player of catch and shooter of hoops. @thatsryderk you are gonna be the best big sister in the world! Our cub has entered this world healthy and handsome as ever, This was by far the best day in my entire life. @cheynotshy thank you so much for this. My life has changed in so many ways I cannot wait to show you the world son @aceofdavis."

But Cheyenne is not the only AYTO alum who has also announced a pregnancy in the past month, and it also has ties to that mommy-to-be too. When Cory flew to Hawaii for Season 1 of Ex On The Beach after getting the news of him being Ryder's biological dad, he got stung not once but twice by seeing Season 5's Alicia Wright in the Shack of Secrets and then later on the beach itself.

And it was on Mother's Day that Alicia revealed on Instagram @lavida.alicia that she too, is also expecting... but she had to overcome something as she wrote below, "Today we celebrate our mothers, & our own journey. Thank you @xander.maddox for giving me a gift at one point in my life I did not think I could receive. When I was diagnosed with endometriosis I was told I may not be able to conceive or carry on my own, and somehow,someway this little girl has already fought her hardest to meet us. This pregnancy has not been easy, I am considered high risk, but I am so grateful to have you in my belly. Our families & friends are so excited & have already made her feel so loved. I love you @xander.maddox , the home we’ve built together , and our little girl that will see us in September. 💕"
As it was also, Team MTV also sent their congrats to Alicia, and we do so to her and Cheyenne as the family of babies continues to grow... one that has two more in the Shore franchise, and we'll have more on those just to come.
