If there's some sort of silver-lined serendipity to the last 20 months we've had to go through, it's that there's been a big boom in the number of babies being welcomed into our world. If you're reading this, it's likely that you, a family member, a friend from high school, a fellow co-worker or an acquaintance has given birth to a young boy or girl during the pandemic... and you are not alone. When this blogger gathered with family and friends for our aunt's 80th birthday during the summer, one of my cousins announced that he & his girlfriend were expecting weeks before they made that public on Facebook.
Of course, one of those still in the running for the $1 million is part of the inner circle that surrounds the one who represents not just The Challenge, but the rest of the MTV Reality family in the Teen Mom sorority just as Cheyenne Floyd's road to welcoming her second kid is being documented on the current season of the OG series. But this past month, three of those Cory Wharton has competed with on the show -- and in the case of one of them, lived in his Real World house -- got to join him in the category that a growing number are joining him in: being both a Challenger and raising kids.

But when they first glanced at each other in Central America, they knew that they were meant for one another: her being the self-proclaimed "Barbie Beast" for her mastery in the elimination arena and being an absolute sweetheart, and him finally finding the one lady who would tame his sometimes arrogant personality that's overshadowed a Challenge career that has a title to his resume. And with the sole exception of over a year apart, #Zenna have remained together... and that includes them becoming official in wedding rings when they tied the knot in an intimate wedding that was postponed by a year.
A month before they became a married couple in front of his family in Michigan -- and with their grand wedding day being slated for next April back in her New York home, Jenna & Zach chose the global holiday of love known as Valentine's Day to reveal something not necessarily related to romance. Pictures they posted on Instagram announced that they were becoming parents, and he wrote, "I gave Jenna some lovin, and she’s giving me a family. I have never been this excited. August couldn’t come soon enough... because that is when Jenna will officially be a milf."
In actuality in fact, the father-elect actually missed the due date by a few days when the day they had in mind of August 28th -- over three weeks after his birthday -- came and went without his wife going into labor... and when the calendar turned to September she would get induced. She wrote on IG, "It has been a crazy journey and a long 41 weeks, tomorrow is the day I get induced! I gave myself some time to go into labor naturally because I am at 5cms walking around fine with zero contractions. My doctor and I made the decision weighing the pros and cons of MY situation and pregnancy thus far, and that’s what we decided! Wish us luck tomorrow! 👶🏻"
And on Thursday, September 2nd at just before 9:00 PM Eastern time, they welcomed Anthony Joseph Nichols, who weighed in at 8 lbs. & 14 oz., and whose length was measured in at 21 & a half inches long.

Jenna & Zach are hardly the only ones in The Challenge family who welcomed their first kid this past month -- the latest member to join them in the Parents' Club competed with both our new mommy & daddy on both Final Reckoning and War of the Worlds... and who made his debut the season before the former on Vendettas when America's fifth major pro sport began its global expansion.
As MTV Thursdays this fall has Floribama Shore and A Double Shot at Love with Vinny & Pauly D., it's easy to see how much the global Shore franchise has grown since Jersey ruled pop culture a decade ago. Last week, Brazil became the latest territory to have a localized version of the show when Rio Shore debuted on MTV Brazil and its local offering of Paramount+. Along with that, ViacomCBS' entry to the streaming wars has just made available the Mexican version of Acapulco Shore, while Hulu has Super Shore which brings together housemates from Gandia Shore in Europe, Acapulco, a castmate from the Brazilian Are You The One and Italian Ferruccio Lamborghini's granddaughter Ferruccio.

And it's because of the global invasion of The Challenge on Vendettas that we have Kyle Christie in our Challenge family on this side of the pond: he's made two finals and has also made noise in and out of the competition arena -- from him flirting with Cara on Vendettas to the ensuing beef he had with her man Paulie. He got his MTV start on Geordie Shore in the early stages of its run when he moved into the house in his home region of Tyneside, forged a relationship with longtime stalwart Holly Hagan and got into his fair share of the spotlight on Geordie before going on The Challenge.
Back in March earlier this year, Kyle announced in the now-standard way of things of getting to post on Instagram him holding a sonogram with his girlfriend, joining a few in the Jersey crew, Nilsa of Floribama Shore and others in his Geordie crew to add the title "parent" to his CV. And before 4PM BST on Monday, September 13 (eleven days after Jenna & Zach), the pirate and model Vicky Turner welcomed their first kid, Crew Jax Christie, who weighed in at 8 lbs. & 6 oz. -- or in the British way of measurement, just over 3.6 kilograms.
The couple wrote on IG upon that announcement, "Welcome to the world Crew you are so loved, we couldn’t of asked for a more perfect little boy. Mam & Dad love you so much. They say 13 is unlucky for some but he was always destined to be, judging by my tattoo. Thank you to @vickelizabethx for bringing this perfect little man into our lives, you honestly have done an extraordinary job from start to finish. I honestly don’t know how you women do it, you’re all incredible…..my little family 👨👩👦"
