Hi, hello, what's up and welcome to the first edition of DC SocialPulse for Real World Skeletons. With an incredible 2nd season of Are You The One? now in our rear view mirror (and with two last posts coming up here shortly), our focus now turns towards what will ultimately be an ultra-busy Tuesday for MTV fans. And eventually, there will be two reasons to look forward to this night, as there will be episodes of not just The Real World, but also The Challenge airing back to back.
On Tuesday, the 30th season of the iconic reality franchise kicked off in Chicago as the new class of seven strangers made their move to their new city for an experience they will never forget. Right off the bat, a romance starts up with two of the castmates. Plus it's déjà vu all over again as something that happened on Free Agents earlier this year happens again in Chi-Town. And this all comes before any of the skeletons of the seven strangers walk into the door of their house in the West Loop. We'll have the premiere covered here, along with the release of the trailer for The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2 as we reach four weeks before its debut, hence the new name Double Shot Tuesdays.

And they're all carefully pieced together by me to replicate that experience in real-time, tweet-by-tweet, uncensored and unfiltered into these diaries, so you won't miss a thing. It's because of these SocialPulse posts I've done since Rivals II that made up for what will soon be 20,000 views of this blog. Yes, it's a really long process of compiling all these tweets for you here, but the reward is a worldwide audience that reads this site, and receiving acclaim from fans and castmates. And the work I do to put this together, along with all the other posts that I do in covering these shows, have certainly made it worth it too. After all, no shows can lend themselves more perfectly to this kind of great insight, perspective and storytelling like MTV shows, and no channel has a deeper, more intimate relationship with & impact on both its personalities and its viewers.
Enough of this prologue. Let's get now to the reason you are actually here for: the following are the actual tweets of the cast, alumni, fans and me as we got to see the premiere, along with the Monday buildup to the premiere, the Exes 2 trailer being released and the day after the first episode.

theWRAP: The Premiere & First Impressions
So, now to my thoughts on the Premiere and my first impressions. And instead of doing a recap for every episode following the diary like we've done here for the past few MTV seasons, I will shift over to having random thoughts and providing perspective after all the tweets. Something that I experimented with during Are You The One?, any editions of theWRAP providing more-detailed recaps of episodes will now appear in separate posts from DCSP to help conserve space in these diaries so fans won't have to go all the way down to the bottom for it.
As I wrote in my First Time post the day of the premiere, it's always a favorite part for me on The Real World to watch the first episode of every season, with the group moving into their new city & house, meeting their new roommates and seeing those first impressions. Though some would think the Real World format might be dated, for me it never gets old to see all these people go through this first rite of passage on our screens.

Overall just like everyone else, I enjoyed watching the first episode. We had more than our fair share of the usual pomp and circumstance that comes with that first day or so in the house. We've had not one but two romances right off the top and some drama as well that has revealed secrets about the roommates. And of course, there's always the first impressions that we have of the castmates.
- Someone who I can definitely like on this season is Nicole. As I wrote in my preview, she has traits of both St. Thomas' Marie and Back to San Diego's Sam: she's from Staten Island with that accent, and she's lesbian who likes hooking up with girls. With playing on a football team, she's also the most ready to use that gym time to eventually being a Challenge fixture, in addition to being an EMT and training to be a firefighter, which makes that work being a hero in that NYC borough a very good one. And there's also that hilarious moment of her, Bruno & Jason go on what was a 45-minute walk from their house to the store, but that store is actually only a few minutes away across the street.
- I know, from the fans view of this that Madison might not be universally liked simply because of her high-pitched voice. But I'm one of those people who always believes that people shouldn't judge a book by glancing its cover, and we should wait for more of this season to play out to give her a proper judgement, and obviously I won't join the conversation. But after putting on that revealing black dress for that first night, she did show generosity in leaving $100 on the counter to make up for the first night's events. She does have that story of her tough past, including drug addiction and being arrested for stealing, for which her sister was shown confessing what happened with her. That's something I'm looking forward to watching Madison.
- Violetta, as I wrote last week, may become the RW30 candidate for the one we love/hate on this season. It was just with reading the recaps that it was her who had "Thug Life" tattooed on her lip. She also had the honor of also getting the house drinking underway by bringing in a tequila bottle inside. Violetta also found out about the group's $800 bar tip after spending all of their money on the goodies for that first night, and of course she goes HAM, and again during the after-hours. She also shared to Bruno her story of being bullied in school and how that turned her into a bully, which once her skeletons show up, it will make for plenty of fireworks.
- Sylvia also looks to be follow in V's footsteps as someone who can also be feisty but can also have the ability to make everyone laugh and have a good time. We saw what she is capable of in the premiere of her flipping out over what happened with Madison, and of course we can't wait to see that fiery Latina in her has in store for us. Like a number of the MTV family who come from there, Sylvia can also take pride in her Kansas City hometown which after next week's tweets we'll share a unique story about it on here.
- In Grantland's premiere wrap, Bruno was described as having "a Jersey Shore vibe, a Bruno Mars vibe, and makes poses in front of cars." In addition to finding out in my blog about him having a pet cow, we also saw him having his own teddy bear...sometimes you're never too old to have a cuddle buddy in bed. We also saw him make out with Sylvia and they seem to also have a great vibe as well. And there's Jason as well, though he wasn't featured much this week.
