It's Christmas weekend (and Boxing Day weekend too if you're joining us from overseas) as we bring you the Week 4 edition of DC SocialPulse for The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines. On Christmas Day, we brought you our DC FORUM Reality Debrief of 2015 as Andrew Kirk and myself recapped the year that was in the reality TV world. And that is just the start to a year-end flourish of posts to wrap up 2015 right here on DCBLOG.
As we turn our focus from the year in RTV to the current Challenge season, this game has certainly turned on its head in so many ways. Last week, TJ Lavin dropped a bombshell of splitting the remaining castmates into two teams, but still having the bloodlines concept in play. A dangerous mission above water saw two players go to the hospital, while the voting for the players turns heated. And in the end, one player's condition gets so weak, he collapses unexpectedly en route to the Pit.
And that's where we begin this week's activities, as we learn the fate of that player, plus the most volatile episode in many years as far as players leaving & entering this Challenge. That includes a familiar face who also happens to be the significant other of one of the top contenders and threatens to be the biggest wild card. Plus, a scorned veteran gets a chance to go after her rookie hookup when she eavesdrops on some sketchy confessions. And of course, there's our favorite game: trivia.
We'll have all the action, reaction and interaction from this week's episode here plus in the leadup to Wednesday: life changers to two Challenge vets, a Road Rules OG heads to a night at the fights, a sorely-missed Challenger takes a stand, and of course reaction to Miss Universe. And after that on DC ExtraTime, we'll join with a few familiar faces as they mark the holiday season and entering the traditional winter break with a walk on the graduation stage.

So, we saw three teams go in one night - an unprecedented shakeup on The Challenge not seen in a long time. Two of those teams were sent home by injuries suffered during the previous week's mission, and a third pair who was eliminated in the Pit had a past Challenge winner and was a preseason favorite. We also saw Cory & Aneesa turn their backs on one another after an sketchy conversation eavesdrop, and we had trivia. And for the second week in a row, another cliffhanger with the episode ending after this week's mission before the deliberations. Good thing next week there's back-to-back episodes to appease everyone for those three dreaded words the past few weeks.
Now, because of last week's cliffhanger, the policy I have here stipulates that when that happens, the write-up for that week is carried into the next week's edition of DC WRAP. So, look out for the Ten Things to Know recap of the past two episodes, plus Winners of the Night and more before the New Year's Eve Eve Double Shot right here in a day or two, and something special too.

GRADUATION DAY... IN THE WINTER

But for three others, the weekend before Christmas saw them go through a life-changing experience synonymous with summertime. Mid-year graduations took place this month for those students who completed the necessary credits to earn their college degree and the right to walk the graduation stage to the tune of "Pomp and Circumstance." And for a member of this Bloodlines cast and two singles from Are You The One?, that meant the holiday celebrations kick-started a week early to mark their official entry into the real "Real World."
● Mitch: First, there's Cory's bloodline Mitch who we saw with Rianna and then give advice to Cory on Aneesa on this weeks episode. Well, he calls the Bay Area home permanently even before Cory headed out there for RW Ex-Plosion a year ago and is a proud UC Berkeley student. Last weekend, Mitch & Cory came together once again as the blonde guy celebrated his graduation from Cal with his parents in attendance as well as Haas Pavilion to witness his moment in the sun. Cory's IG reads, "Proud of my cousin for graduation today, it wasn't easy but it will be worth it congratulations @mitch_reid12 #Dab #timetomakethatrealmoney." It remains to be seen, of course, if he will have two of them in the course of a couple months, but for now Mitch is enjoying this graduation like a Challenge champion.

● Kiki: Kiki was named one of my two Favorite Roommates in my Reality Debrief and that is an honor that will go along with all else she's accomplished this year. That includes graduating college, which she did at George Mason University, best known to those outside of Fairfax, VA & the D.C. area and college hoops fans for the Warriors' '06 Final Four run. Kiki graduated with a Masters degree in Special Education, and enjoyed her graduation with classmates, family & friends. Her IG reads, "Today I graduated with my Masters in Special Education. I couldn't be more thrilled & proud of myself. This was a tough journey, but I kept pushing! Congratulations to everyone else who graduated today, & especially the College of Education and Human Development. We did it!!" Something she's looking forward to now: a much-deserved trip to the mountains for snowboarding and time in the snow.
● Anthony: Finally, there's Anthony from AYTO Season 2. Last year, he masterminded the cast's roadmap to winning the $1 million - much like what we saw with Devin this past season, and last weekend he too got his diploma. When we met Ant, the Chicago resident was about to enter his final year at Eastern Illinois University, and this past semester, he completed that "victory lap."
To all three, congrats again on your respective graduations and hope you all are enjoying this much deserved time off after the pressures of being in school are finally done & dusted.
