Last week in a week that saw betrayals plenty in MTV land, there was one in the AYTO house when after he and Kam became the house's first perfect match, Edward spent his next to last night going off to do his thing with her best friend, Alicia, as she became the house's latest public enemy. We also saw the house being put under the lie detector, and Gianna stringing Hayden along when she decides to actually play this game in going into the closet and kiss Michael in the closet. Despite getting the season's first light beam, things in the matchup department remain stuck at neutral.
This week, the guys are put under the ringer again, this time with their guy best friends coming in to spill some embarrassing secrets as they break "Bro-Code." Meanwhile, Tyler is once again put under the microscope as well as a confession he makes causes one of the girls he's broken their hearts reexamines the intentions she has for him. And what is next for Alicia after what happened last week? Obviously, she's not done just yet.
Ahead, all the action, reaction and interaction of Team AYTO, plus them marking the single biggest day in romance - Valentine's Day, and the Wednesday aftermath from The Challenge. And afterwards on ExtraTime, we'll head down to the Bayou to meet the most controversial man in reality TV as he talks to an Are You The One? original as she has now become a local TV reporter, as well as meeting another man who's about to be Stranded with A Million Dollars.

We saw the best friends of the guys' coming in via Skype to let out some secrets of the men of the house, which saw Hannah and Shannon take the dates and them choosing Ozzy and Tyler for their date. We had Tyler being put under focus again when his confession of coming to the house to get it on with the girls saw Shannon and the girls bring him in to discuss his mindset. After what happened last week with Edward & Kam, Alicia began to focus in on Hannah's crush Ozzy as things once again get tense at the matchup, all after Ozzy & Hannah are a no match in the truth booth. And though Ryan Devlin grills them for not finding the right strategy to get out of the four-beam rut they're in, Mike and Kari do come up with a strategy of seeing who the strongest couples in the house are, and do limit the possible 11 light combinations. We'll delve into all that, as well as another competitor quitting in Challenge land, on DC WRAP in a few days.

If you're a reality TV fan, then you know about Duck Dynasty on A&E, which began five years ago next month and has documented the lives of the Robertson family, owners of their own business of making products for duck hunters - Duck Commander - in West Monroe, Louisiana in the northern part of the Bayou state. Duck Dynasty has since overtaken the channel's original flagship series Biography as the network's highest-profile show, succeeded MTV's Jersey Shore as the highest-rated reality series in cable history, and is in the midst of its final season on the air after eleven seasons on the air. The family includes CEO Willie, fellow siblings Jase and Kep, and brother Si, and those men are known for their long beards and, in this deeply religious state of the South that also gave us that reality TV icon Trishelle - strong Christian views.
But the man at the heart of this family-run operation is Phil Robertson, who when he was a young adult was a standout quarterback at Louisiana Tech starting ahead of NFL hall of famer Terry Bradshaw, but gave up an NFL career to pursue a different passion: duck hunting. After a period of soul searching, he became religious, reconciled with his estranged wife and founded the Duck Commander Company in 1973. Even in this age where his show can be watched in the palm of fans' hands, Phil prefers his social networking to be with just friends & family in person as someone who doesn't like modern technology. But in December 2013, Robertson made headlines when an interview he had with GQ magazine saw comments deemed derogatory to homosexuals, A&E suspended him from the show - only for that to be rescinded shortly later after strong public backlash.
Last year during AYTO Season 4, we caught up with Kayla Lusby of the Season 1 cast, who after being part of a Hawaiian love triangle with her, Ryan & Wes, has turned to her local TV roots as a reporter and weekend anchor on the news side of things for KTVE/KARD, the NBC/FOX duopoly in the Arklamiss serving Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. And this past week, she scored a big interview with Phil at the Duck Commander headquarters, as the patriarch discussed his relationship with the new President, his son and his relationship with the new First Family in the White House. Their interview was promoted by the station during the heart of what those refer to in the TV industry as the "sweeps" period, where networks air big events & highly-promoted episodes, and local stations like KTVE air high-profile investigative stories and interviews to grab viewer attention.

MEET STRANDED's ALEX
On Friday during a lunch break from all of this blog work, I decided to give a second cast member of Stranded a Twitter follow. Here's our dialogue...

The man who's our focus here is Alex Apple, who is a Nashville native and has a knack for being persuasive and being as fiercely competitive as those we see on the Trifecta. If you've seen those like Dustin, Cory, Hunter and other fellow Challengers over the past few years, Alex has an eye on utilizing that competitive fire during this ultimate life's challenge of sharing an island with nine other strangers, $1 million in possession and 40 days with which to navigate themselves through. And his plans to any winnings to build a financial foundation towards a career in real estate.
Alex enjoys being able to talk about himself and reminding those around him of the high IQ he has. And the social skills he plans to use with the group has been acquired over time from his experience being a journalist: both at Texas Christian University where he went to college (he anchored the college's newscasts with a co-anchor who went on to be on The Bachelor), and up in Vermont where he served as a reporter & anchor for market leader WCAX. There, he reported on events large and small in the 98th largest TV market and earning a regional Emmy nomination, as well as doing work for Politico, the Dallas Morning News and the AP. And as Vermont is also the home state of 2016 Presidential candidate and Senator Bernie Sanders, Alex was there every step of the way from the campaign trail, taking him to Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Washington, D.C. and across the border to Montreal, Canada too.
