As you wind up your weekend, DCBLOG returns with more from this week in the MTV Trifecta and The Challenge XXX - Dirty 30. Episode 3 saw our first trip into this season's elimination setup of The Presidio where Britni took on Briana and Cory battled Derrick H. in the first one-on-one battles of this season, and the Southern belle and two-time finalist taking those duels. This came after another twist was thrown to the competitors in the Double Cross giving those up for elimination a chance to play dirty, and also after Cory revealed his "hit list" of veterans he wants to beat to win. And we also had the return of Hall Brawl to the Challenge stage, this time as a regular mission too.
Coming up, we'll head inside the Strategy Room to reveal our first set of the Winners' List to see who performed well enough to play themselves onto that list three episodes, as well as this week's poll results. Then, on the one-year anniversary of the most famous - and infamous - moment in Challenge history, find out what Johnny Bananas is up to next... and if you have a broader selection of shows to choose from than yours truly, you'll probably figure out where he showed up this past week. That's ahead.
DC FORUM: POLL @DC408Dxtr
First, this week's poll....
Who is your Week 3 MVP?
● ANEESA (girls challenge) 36%
● BRITNI (girls Presidio) 0%
● CORY (guys Presidio 8%
● CT (guys challenge) 56%
STRATEGY ROOM
WINNERS' LIST: THRU 3
Three weeks into this season, as is always the case we're getting an idea of which players are standing out so far, as well as who will need to pick things up as we go along. With that in mind, for the first time this season, we'll take the chance here to pick who this site thinks are those who are worthy of joining the Winners' List of those who've impressed through these first three episodes.
● CORY: After what we saw from him in that final earlier this year, Cory has had his work cut out to try and bounce back from that to regain the potential of what we saw from him on Bloodlines. From the house standpoint, we saw him mingle with the girls who he's hooked up with previously. As far as this game is concerned, in week 1, he gained one enemy when he put in Darrell, and it led the veterans to put him into the first elimination after putting it out there in the open of his intentions to take them down early. And him being able to answer his critics by taking down Derrick H. now sets up an opportunity to either take this game by the throat in making this road easy or simply die trying in the face of these veterans who want him out.
● TORI: Yes, she was heartbroken when she saw Team Chocolate lose in the Presidio, but Tori does have something going for her here. She is one of two competitors to be on the winning side in the first three challenges here: she was part of the winning team in phase 1 of the Week 1 Purge, held her own against the tomatoes in Week 2, and was on the green team that won in Week 3... the only other one to steer clear of that is Cara Maria. A lot have showed high expectations for her after what we saw on her first two shows and so far, her Challenge debut has been going good, especially with past champs and finalists she's sharing the house with. The big stuff is still coming but for now Tori is holding court.
HONORABLE MENTION
● GIRLS - Britni (winning the first Presidio), Veronica (for her gameplay, especially this past week), and Aneesa (for her leveling Jenna in the hall challenge)
● GUYS - Ammo (for his unique confessional moments), and Derrick K. (for proving that a 7 years absence hasn't waned in his return).
As we speak to you on this Sunday night, August 6th, it was 369 days ago tonight that we saw not only the biggest moment in the recent history of The Challenge, but also one of the biggest TV moments of 2016 and one of the most memorable in the long history of both reality TV and MTV's 25 years of pioneering and mastering this television genre. Of course, we're talking about what happened on the finale of Rivals III when TJ Lavin asked Johnny Bananas what to do with the $275,000 he and partner and rival Sarah picked up for winning the final. The rest is history, and it is why we have the theme of this season by way of him stealing all of the money from the one who backstabbed him back on Battle of the Exes II.
To mark the one-year anniversary of that famous moment, this past week American Dad!, one of the many animated series to air on the Turner networks including TBS and its late night Adult Swim block, approached him to make a cameo on that show in his true animated form. Fittingly enough, the title of the episode was "The Bitchin' Race," name being a reference to the CBS show Amazing Race and doing a parody of reality competition shows. Not surprisingly, Bananas appeared alongside a character named Yeager Chillaz, and whose hashtag was #FameWhores.
Bananas talked to MTV News about this unique opportunity given to him: "As a kid growing up watching Saturday morning cartoons, it was always a dream of mine to see myself as an animated character. Now all these years later, the child in me will finally get to see that dream become a reality. I've made a career out of winning in the reality television world, so it’s time to try my hand competing against cartoons and see how I stack up. Most of the people I compete against on The Challenge are characters in their own regard and far more strange than any creation a cartoonist could come up with, so I think I’ll feel right at home."
Below is Bananas' cameo on American Dad!, and in other posts on this site we looked at when The Challenge and Are You The One? were spoofed by Adult Swim's Robot Chicken.

With the usual reminder to bookmark this site for our look at the MTV world and DCNOW for live tweets at @DC408DxNow, this coming week DCBLOG will plan to have our long-promised midyear Reality Debrief with a review of what's happened in 2017 in reality TV up to this point. That's actually the reason why we posted our WRAP earlier than usual in bypassing the usual Things to Know recap of key moments from the episodes, which we won't post our first installment of that until after the Debrief finally takes place. And of course, rejoin us here next weekend for your DCBLOG fix covering Tuesday's activities.
That is how we look at it this week in the Trifecta and week 3 of The Challenge XXX - Dirty 30... hope you enjoyed it. Until then, enjoy the week ahead and see you then.

Recent posts by Allan took a look at which alliances the house have, the alliance of Cory, Nelson and Hunter, and the best players to not win a Challenge... along with interviews he did recently with many MTV alums.
