If you think that all the drama on The Bachelor this winter has been all about what's been transpiring with Peter Weber and his group of suitors, then this week saw not only more twists and turns on his show, but also some fireworks off of it in the case of one of its alumni. In fact, it came on all of things, Bachelor Monday, and with the latest tale in the saga that is Bad Chad.

Four years ago, Chad Johnson made his debut on JoJo Fletcher's season of The Bachelorette -- one that has seen him and two other suitors (Chase McNary and Daniel Maguire) go later onto MTV's Ex On The Beach and a third (Robby Hayes) head onto this year's season of Siesta Key as Juliette's post-Alex boyfriend. Those who watched Chad saw him become the drama king in the Villa in him stirring up plenty of moments that spring of 2016 before he got sent home halfway through the season. And it continued when Chad went on Bachelor in Paradise later that summer, and his behavior was too hot to handle for both the cast and host Chris Harrison, being ejected after just that premiere episode the night before Johnny Bananas' steal on The Challenge: Rivals III.

After appearing on Celebrity Big Brother UK overseas and starring with a pre-daddy Jersey Shore Ronnie on E!'s Famously Single, Chad returned to reality TV in sharing top billing with another bad girl, former Teen Mom Farrah Abraham, on EOTB Season 2 last year. He stirred a vendetta with Big Brother houseguest turned 2-time Challenger Jozea Flores and fell in love with that season's lone representative of The Challenge, Bloodlines alum Nicole Ramos. Her & Chad's relationship blossomed in the house but failed outside of it where she got into it with him on the reunion show, and spilled some tea on Bad Chad on YouTube afterwards.

On Monday night, Peter's Bachelor season entered its closing stages with the final three ladies -- Hannah Ann Sluss, Madison Prewett and Victoria Fuller -- going onto their fantasy overnight dates as they flew to Australia's Gold Coast and Brisbane, Queensland before he chooses who he will be his one next week. But just that went down Down Under, there was drama of another sort taking place involving Chad that's as juicy as what the flight attendant has had all winter long.

A New Year's resolution Chad made to himself at the start of this year was to be sober and to be on his very best behavior. The anger that he has possessed stems not just from what we saw four years ago, but also the ill will he has towards the franchise that made him a star in the first place -- not just what happened on BIP, but also those who worked with him both on camera and behind the scenes.
Last year, Chad took a cue from our President and took dead aim at Bachelor Nation on Twitter when he blasted everyone from Tyler Cameron of last year's Bachelorette and leading men Colton Underwood, Nick Viall and Ben Higgins, to the one who was once his lone ally in The Bachelorette house in the aforementioned Daniel, and the person he made fun of on his lone BIP episode, Sarah Herron, who is partially disabled with only part of one arm.

As 2020 began, it seemed that Chad was on his way to starting the decade in a good place than he was in his two memorable Bachelor stints. At the start of the year, he discussed with the media his new girlfriend who he met last year: model, influencer & YouTube personality Annalise Mishler. She has just over 34,000 subscribers to her channel, having joined the vlogging community in 2009 and having over five & a half million views of her videos. She hails from the California capital region of Sacramento, having grown up in the suburb of Loomis... and went to the University of Nevada up in Reno, graduating in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.
Annalise has done several videos with Chad on her channel together, and shared a video there just last week on the long Valentine's Day weekend of her surprising him in their apartment in a trail of Hershey's Kisses leading to a kissing booth with her behind the table, and a cookie cake with the words "I Love You" on them.

In a catch-up interview he did with Life & Style Magazine last fall, Chad admitted that he & his girlfriend were not immune to the occasional argument... other than that he has largely kept his relationship with Annalise out of the public eye, other than for the occasional Instagram post or appearance on his stories. But little did they know that, nine days after her trail of Valentine's Day candy came a scene of a different kind in their Los Angeles apartment.
According to US Weekly, last Sunday Annalise went onto her Instagram Stories and it went live just as she was going through a harrowing episode of domestic violence, and a relapse for her boyfriend for the first time in 50 days... the first time he has had a sip of alcohol since New Year's Week. That day, she shared with her IG followers video of Chad outside her unit trying to get into the door after going drinking... and she then shared a picture of a hole in a wall next to the door which she claimed was him punching it.

Annalise captioned in her stories, "I never talk about this s___ but I really just want to take my power back," all as a man's voice (supposedly of Chad) responded, "I hope you f___ing die," after she told him to hit the road. And it's not the first time that things with the two have escalated to this level, as she's mindful of his past behavior. And the Monday after, Annalise shared in the stories, "Things escalated this morning and are being taken care of now. Share more, maybe. I'm being guilted for sharing this/'ruining his life' and I know that's not true but it's still scary ya know."
The insider who gave the info to US Weekly adds that Annalise tried to call 911 but Chad then took her phone and threw it over the fence of their backyard as well as, "a chunk of her hair," but it's not the only incident to involve her mobile device. And the events of what happened over the weekend has led Mishler to file a request for local authorities to place a temporary order on Johnson, though a bystander did call the cops on him but he had already fled the scene.

Below, footage that Bachelor Nation insider Reality Steve captured and then shared of that frightening altercation between Chad and Annalise. We caution you that the footage presented may be upsetting to some readers and we advise parental discretion.

Later on Monday, Annalise updated her Instagram audience where she tried to cut off things with him earlier after claims of blood on her door, and him coming over to her apartment to try and settle things while still feeling inebriated from the drama of the night before. Once she saw his phone with notifications from dating app Hinge in the lock screen, for the second time in 24 hours things got out of control again as they got into yet another fight.
With an eye that was swollen with visible red marks on her face Annalise told her IG fans, "We've actually broken up like I don't know how many times. We probably had six big blowouts like this and yeah we do get back together and he does apologize and says he'll change and everything but that is the cycle. It's s___ to say but I'm pretty glad that this did happen because No. 1, I’m OK, it wasn’t super serious. I mean, my eye's a little swollen it's not a big deal — I mean it is a big deal, I'm not gonna downplay it — but now there is no option to go back. I'm not going back."

Earlier in the day, gossip site TooFab scooped an exclusive day-after interview with Chad in what was originally a promotional interview for a charity boxing event featuring Bachelor alumni he was originally booked for but instead became where he shared his side of the story (and he has since withdrawn from the commitments for obvious reasons). At the time of the interview, he had very little idea of the previous night's events after blacking out in the first time he's consumed alcohol in seven weeks & a day. Like what we've seen in The Hangover he had to rely on his ex's Instagram stories to piece together what had happened to him.
Chad did tell them, "I had a little relapse... well I wouldn't call it a little relapse. Big relapse." And being drunk, he didn't have recollection of seeing Annelise after drinking to where he had no idea that he was with her, and insisted that he would never put her hands on anyone, let alone his girlfriend of a year. And he conceded that it was a "stupid decision" on his part to resort to drinking to get over a breakup, and recognized that he will need help from professionals and from rehab on a night where, in his words, "I screwed up 1000 percent. You can't take that kind of stuff back."
And he concluded by saying sorry to those who witnessed his meltdown, "I am sorry. I never meant to make anybody think all of these things. I'm just sorry for my actions."

After the second incident with Annelise which followed his TooFab interview, a squad car from the LA Police Department was awaiting Chad outside after the neighbors phoned 911, and he was put under arrest just after 4 P.M. Pacific Time... and TMZ, of course, was the first media outlet to report the news. He was led into the jail cell of the LAPD's Van Nuys station with felony domestic violence and robbery charges being stamped put into his record, and bail being set at $100,000. He has since been released, and now awaits a date in front of a judge on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th.
In the state of California, a felony domestic violence charge carries not only time behind bars which may be up to a year in jail minimum, but also fines and a restraining order that Chad potentially faces, as well as sessions of anger management class, among other consequences... this may also be potentially severe as this is also targeting women. And as far as that robbery charge goes, the minimum financial penalty is $10,000.

And earlier this afternoon - and with the caption "With knowledge, we can all do better πŸ™," Chad released his first public statement after his arrest and release from LAPD custody in an extended Instagram IGTV video. There, he explained that the breakup with Annalise, "...was like losing by best friend. I had made a promise to myself and to my girlfriend that I wouldn't do that anymore. Whenever I do drink, I don't act right. I screwed up and I drank."
Despite the domestic violence charge, he denied any wrongdoing and added, "I was in the Marine Corps; I was taught core values. I have a sister. I am a very overprotective brother. If she ever felt in danger, I would want her to call." And Johnson concluded, "I am so sorry for the entire situation. I am so sorry to Annaliese for feeling threatened. I am working on myself to get better. All I can do is put my best foot forward and try to be a better person every day from here on out."

And the day after on Thursday, February 27th, Annalise posted the following response on her YouTube channel, which was taped two days earlier.

While he's become a divisive personality within both Bachelor Nation and the broader reality TV community - and doesn't have the most favorable of approval ratings in the land of roses & rosΓ©, those who have been on his side reaffirmed their support for Chad in the Instagram comments beneath that video, including fellow Bachelorette 2016 suitor Vinny Ventiera and Kady Cannon of Temptation Island. And one fan wrote, "We all have emotions and feelings. We all mess up. We hit highs and lows. Same goes for this guy. He's not perfect. Keep the promise you made to yourself and get your chin back up. You're only human, sir."
But the most notable message of support came from Vivica A. Fox, who wrote to him, "Hey there dawling. U guys need to take a moment and BREATHE! That means no talking or beating each up over past mistakes! THINGS HAPPEN! If u really do love each time heals all wounds and then go to couples counseling. It take 2 to make a real grown up relationship to work! Prayers Up Brotha! Stop beating yourself help! U deserve a GOOD partner! #RealTalk #FaceTheTruth πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™πŸ½πŸ€—πŸ™†πŸΎ‍♀️"

Chad made a commitment at the start of the year to rid himself of the toxic behavior that has defined his persona and to remain sober & clean... he has now flunked those two tests at the end of these first two months of the new year. Now comes the consequences he will have to face for this relapse where his anger led to this moment in his life.
Along with this, he also joins other Bachelor alumni such as the aforementioned Victoria, Amanda Stanton, and Arie Luyendyk Jr. in the handful of those in Bachelor Nation who have had to pose for a police mugshot, along with Tyranny of the Ex On The Beach: Peak of Love season that concludes tomorrow night, among those who've done an MTV show who've also had to face that camera too.
Something will have to give for Chad Johnson to be a better man than to be Bad Chad... for now he is the ladder for getting busted for this.

If you, a friend or a family member has been experiencing domestic violence of late or have been struggling with substance abuse, the National Domestic Violence hotline is available for those to call at 1(800) 799-7233, and the Substance Abuse & Mental Health Services Administration at 1(800) 662-HELP.
