Back on Friday night when we brought you part 1 of it on here, the field of twelve who made their way though a deep field made it to the start line of the $500,000 final challenge: Alton, Aneesa, Big Easy, Darrell, Derrick, Jemmye, Jisela, Jonna, KellyAnne, Mark, Ruthie and Yes. As in past finals on the regular show - something only two have been through, it's a demanding two-day affair with several checkpoints along the way on day 1, the players being partnered up, and all of them being pushed physically and mentally if they want to make that run at the cash, for which the winner gets all of it.
At the end of part 1, Derrick shockingly crashed out when the boat he & Jisela were on made a wrong turn away from shore which cost them advancement in the final, as everyone else hiked their way through the wilderness doing everything we're accustomed to when money is on the line. And as we return to South America, the race continues as the OG's battle to get over a hot pepper that they had before going on that hike in the woods, and where they must survive a night of sleeping in the cold before embarking on a race to the top that, due of the points system in place for this, means that the one who finishes first may not be hoisting the crown at days end.
After the break, it's the second season finale in Challenge Nation of the year, as we bring you the SocialPulse of Week 2 of The Challenge All-Stars finale. And thanks for spending part of your holiday with the blog... we're glad you've joined us.
As we restart matters here, the field of ten still in the hunt for the cash has Yes of and Challenge 2000 leading with 14 points, followed by 4x champ Darrell at 13, Jonna with 12 and Jemmye at 11. KellyAnne, Mark and Ruthie are tied for 5th at 8, followed in by Alton (7), Aneesa (6) and Big Easy (3)... but when the players commence the second day of the final, the points allocation of 5 for 1st and all the way down to 1 for 5th will double, and it may take for a miracle for Alton or Aneesa to take away the title from the lead pack -- and Easy is just lucky to be here. And off we go to Argentina...

When I got the opportunity to catch The Challenge in some sort back in 2000 much before the modern era of this game - and me getting to watch and blog on this too, Yes was part of that Road Rules team following his trip around the globe on that Semester at Sea... and I remember watching that trek on that ship. So, it feels almost a full circle moment of sorts in getting to watch the Berkeley alum build that day 1 lead to eventually take down Mark, Ruthie, Darrell and everyone else to win that $500,000... and who would have thought that he would take down several champions in route to becoming THE All-Star of All-Stars. And you can safely say that this has been quite a season in Argentina.
Just to come as we segue way into summertime on here, we will send our congrats again to Cheyenne as she welcomes baby #2, and to two of MTV Reality's newest parents as Nilsa and the Sitch get to join that group of parents in this community, along with meeting Mr. Bretman. And we will leave you with probably the most memorable moment of the finale, and the one that will make TJ Lavin the subject of memes in Challenge Nation and beyond now until we see him again in the fall... we'll let you all make up your impressions of THAT outfit as for now, we wish you a safe and Happy Memorial Day.
