Hi, hello, what's up and welcome to DCBLOG's coverage of The Challenge: Free Agents and to DC SocialPulse powered by DCNOW. A few months ago in the wee hours of March 10, this fan posted to his Instagram cast pictures which had just been posted on MTV's mobile site, and singlehandedly started the buzz & the road to the 25th season of what many call the "fifth major sport." Now, as we are in the midst of the summer, the World Cup gripping America and twelve weeks after this all began, we are at the conclusion of the most unpredictable and one of the best seasons ever of this franchise.
Last week, we saw not one, but two eliminations that determined the last six players in the Free Agents final. To the winners & the remaining players came a change of scenery to the Andes Mountains in Chile, and when the final challenge started off in the rapids, one team struggled to stay afloat. And for where last week ended, that's where the finale picks up as we witness what many consider the toughest final mission ever takes precedent. Enormously tough conditions will all push Bananas, Devyn, Johnny, Laurel, Nany and Zach to their limits in an epic race to reach the summit of an active volcano and cash in on the $350,000 prize money.
Along with the episode tweets, the day-long buildup and the aftermath, this 2nd part of a two-part DCSP special covering the week of the finale will also include how the cast, Team MTV and yours truly saw the USA's do or die last World Cup group match against Germany which kicked off Super Thursday, plus today's enthralling opening knockout match that had the eye of one particular Free Agent. And after we cover the finale, we'll introduce you to one of the biggest fans of the RW/Challenge franchise, and I'll offer a parting shot as this blog heads towards a special milestone.

FAN OF THE WEEK
We've talked about on here numerous fans of the Real World/Challenge franchise, but this fan is probably one of a kind, and we've saved this one for last. Someone who's a great supporter of many of the people on these shows is Clarence Pryor, who comes to us from where Vinny, Angelina and Team STT's Marie all come from - Staten Island, NY. If you follow him at @IcedCofNewYork on twitter, he tweets everyday to a number of RW/Challenge cast members including Bananas, Trey, Zach and others, and we included his tweets supporting Bananas and Devyn in the final. He's also talked to a number of them on the webcast interviews featuring them, too. Deep down inside, and as many nationwide celebrate Pride events taking place this weekend, Clarance also has a serious life story that some may relate to him: he was bullied because of his sexual preference, and earlier this year, he actually came out. DC's VIEW
Now, with the 4th of July approaching, it means we're almost halfway through 2014, and already this is the 36th edition of DC SocialPulse this year. But after doing this for every single week for the last 25 weeks going back six months to early January, this is the last edition of DCSP for a little while as we'll be taking a little summer vacation from doing these diaries. We are in need for some much needed but well deserved R&R after bringing you three remarkable seasons of Real World Ex-Plosion, Are You The One? and The Challenge: Free Agents.
But don't you worry, we'll be back later this summer to cover the MTV VMA's at the Forum in Los Angeles followed by the return of regular weekly posts covering the next seasons of The Real World Back to Chicago, the 26th season of The Challenge, and season 2 of Are You The One?, and more events & shows too. DCBLOG will stay active this summer covering sports and entertainment regularly on here, beginning with my long-promised series of World Cup soccer posts kicking off here shortly.
So, it's time for a little reflection. As I mark my 2nd anniversary on Twitter this weekend, which as you know I joined on June 27, 2012, the same day as the premiere of RW St. Thomas, I am approaching a very significant and special milestone around here. Very soon, or perhaps at any moment, I will reach 10,000 overall page views of this blog. And perhaps it will be this very mega-wrap of the Free Agents finale that will take me to that number, and perhaps become the most-viewed post that I've ever had thanks to promoting this on twitter to everyone.
These SocialPulse posts are presented to fans of these shows as a public service by this fan of these shows and a virtual friend of Team MTV. Especially in the case of this mega post that's taken a couple days to piece it all together, me & my friends have poured in long hours in the days after the episodes air to compile all of the tweets from the casts, fellow fans and yours truly to bring you the communal experience of watching these shows with everyone, along with the vibe surrounding it too. So, if you're someone who wants to relive it all or is just catching up on everything after watching it for the first time, DC SocialPulse is the place you go to, specially curated just for you instead of doing it yourself.
And our work has paid off in bringing a great amount of traffic to this site, with - besides the upcoming 10K milestone - fans from all over the world in more than 30 or so countries checking out DCBLOG in addition to those based here in the U.S. who search for Real World, Challenge and Are You The One? content and surf their way over here. These are the signature posts of this blog that I started up a year ago that has become a destination for those who love these shows as much as I.
So, as I reach 10K here, just as I did when I celebrated my 1st anniversary blogging here earlier this month, thank you to everyone all over the world who visits this site, to those who've left me positive feedback on my posts, and to those who've promoted it. Thank you all for your patronage, support, loyalty and promotion. It's doing this job of putting together these posts and the dedication I have in this that's made my hobby of blogging worthwhile and something I'm proud of and take great pride in.
From a roller coaster of a season that rejuvenated a reality pioneer in my Bay Area backyard, to a group of 20 people whose lives being unlucky in love were reversed in a blaze of gold in Hawaii, and to a unprecedented Challenge of unpredictability that saw two worthy champions, it's been our pleasure & privilege over the last six months to bring you the SocialPulse of the shows you love. And after we take this opportunity to catch our breath & enjoy the summer sun, we anxiously can't wait to do it all over again, and look forward to bringing you more of the moments that get everyone talking on DC SocialPulse right here on DCBLOG.
