Happy Halloween to all of you out there, wherever you are on this big last Saturday of October. And what did DCBLOG bring to you today? It's this DC SocialPulse diary for Episode 306 (Season 3, Episode 6 if you're scoring at home) of Are You The One? to check out as part of your pregame to tonight's trick-or-treating and costume parties. And just as it was last week, there's both tricks and treats on this show too.
Last week, the house came to the realization that they're not playing this game as they're supposed to, and realize they have to move on from their non-match crushes. We saw Chuck get caught kissing Britni and we had an explosive . But we also had the first right move in the game this year: Chelsey going with her instincts that Connor is her match, and the truth booth confirmed that she was indeed right on target. But that was the only good news as far as the game play was concerned.
So how can we top what some of us call the best episode in the three seasons of AYTO? This week, the drama continues with what's become an AYTO tradition: a chance to let loose in the night sky for a group in desperate need of good news. There, a wild luau, a Hawaiian party full of entertainment, provides us that in telling us who is getting laid, or lei'd to make things better, and who's getting played. Jealousy on the part of our New Englander causes Devin to flip his lid in frustration. And confusion reigns when the guys decide to bring strategy in an effort to reverse the momentum.
We have everything covered with the interaction from this week's episode and the proceeding lead-up and aftermath, including some of the girls' weekend visit to SoCal. Also included in this week's diary: reaction to the World Series from KC and NY points of view of Team MTV, an AYTO castmate showing love to an ESPN anchor, and .

So, we saw another wild party night turn into another one of those nights for the cast, Devin losing his temper after his wish of seeing Kiki move out of the house go unanswered, his bandmate Chuck doing it once again and strategy backfire for the guys as they see only minimal progress in their quest to make a comeback. It may be late, but remember it was at this time last year at the 6th Match-Up that Team 21 had their second blackout, but came all the way back to win. We'll recap both of these wild episodes - last week's and this week's - later on this weekend or early next week after you all have fully recovered from tonight's Halloween madness, for which you can read more about it here.
But before we move into ExtraTime, and on the topic of Hunter talking briefly to co-anchor of the 1am ET SportsCenter in Stan Varrett in the After Hours section, as I tweeted on Twitter, I want to send positivity to everyone who works in the sports media world who've had to endure a very tough month. As those who follow sports TV know by now, ESPN has suffered the brunt of this downturn in a cut of its workforce and yesterday's bombshell of the Bristol big wigs shutting down the sports & pop culture site Grantland, the magna de cum of now-departed founder Bill Simmons.
It has been a rough time for everyone who brings us sports' greatest moments and stories, but rest assured that as one door closes, another one should open for those who've had to endure these rough waters lately. The quality work put out by Grantland and other sports media outlets serve as a basis for DCBLOG in fulfilling my long-time passion of writing and translating that into covering the entertainment, sports and things I'm passionate about right here. So to those who've been affected by this turmoil, stay strong...things will get better.
Now, let's transition from the ridiculous - and then the serious - to the sublime...

BABY TALK: ADAM'S A DADDY!
As some of those on the brand-new season of The Challenge are in L.A. this week to film After Shows as we march towards that new season to kick off next month, the thing that's dominated Trifecta talk this year has been babies. Madison from RW Skeletons will welcome a baby girl in the new year, and so will Laura from St. Thomas. We started our AYTO 3 preview with baby talk, and now we have our third new dad this year...adding on to the record baby count to 12 in 2015 from the RW/Challenge franchise and AYTO.
During our Challenge Free Agents coverage last year, we told you the story of Adam Royer from Real World Back to Las Vegas and his checkered life: a tough drug-infused upbringing, his infamous bad boy stint in Sin City, his short tenure on the Rivals Challenge and improving himself to get beyond the attitude that made him Season 25's least-liked castmate. A first positive move came last October when while they saw fellow castmate Mike tie the knot to his fiance Taylor in SoCal, him and Nany burying the hatchet after their toxic relationship at the Hard Rock.Now, one of the Real World's most-popular casts and a perennial Challenge contender will now have something they've never had until now: a baby. On his Instagram @AdamRoyerr last week, a picture with his girlfriend holding a pumpkin in a corn maze announced the news of, "Our Little Pumpkin, Arriving March 2016." Fellow roommate Heather was the first to congratulate Adam on being the Vegas XXV cast's first father, "Congrats @AdamRoyerr! #ItsABoy," and of course Adam sent thanks to Peanut.
It's been a long road from Adam's rough past and then him being wasted to get to this moment in his life. If you bet money four years ago when Real World XXV premiered that Adam would be the first from his cast to become a parent, then you must be one of the luckiest fans of RW right now. After all he's been through, he's more than deserving of him becoming a dad. It does prove again that you can come back from tough upbringings and change in a positive way to become a better person because of it. Many congrats to Adam.
