Well, welcome on in to the month of October and to DC SocialPulse's look at Episode 2 of Are You The One? Season 3. If our Ohana of this season promised to all of us that this season would be something else, than for those who watch this show loyally it is delivering the goods so far...and we are only thru more than a furlong into this roller coaster.
On the Premiere episode last week, we saw just about everything you can cram into a season in one night: Alec kissing four girls, Amanda & Kiki going at it at matchup, Devin at the heart of a triangle and of course spin the bottle. And we saw host Ryan Devlin give them a rather unpleasant welcome to the Big Island of Hawaii of a twist that could change the game at any moment.
This week, Kiki keeps her eye on Devin in spite of his questionable behavior, while other couples begin to fall hard for one another around the house. We also have a trip to the strip club in the comfort of the AYTO house, as well as a revealing challenge that even reveals a closet One Direction fan. But, it's a completely bewildering Truth Booth and an even more shocking Match Up Ceremony that leaves the house in nothing but stunned silence. Yes...that happened.
We'll have all the interaction from Episode 2, plus the lead-up and the aftermath for you here for what again is a two-part post; DC WRAP will bring you the episode's big moments and a DC FORUM to discuss matters in depth later this weekend or early next week. After the interaction on DC ExtraTime, we'll join with fellow Team MTV'ers in Washington as they honor the late Diem Brown with Congress, plus find out who my latest famous Team MTV follower is and her storied career.

So, we saw The Kiki and Devin Show once again as they got to enjoy their date on the scooters and then be brought back to earth by a truth booth no match. After he & Amanda christened Pound Town last week, Magic Mike provided entertainment for the ladies in the form of a strip club. And even Connor professed his secret obsession for One Direction. But when things got tense in the house, it got to the deepest point you can get in this game: a blackout...and there goes $250,000.
Yes, things are getting real around the house on the big island, and we'll wrap it up for you later this weekend on DC WRAP as well as our first in-season edition of the FORUM. This also includes a consolation prize I gave the group the day after their blackout...you won't want to miss what it could possibly be. Now...

At this time last year, the MTV family was praying for Challenge veteran Diem Brown to beat ovarian cancer for a third time after being flown from Exes 2 in Costa Rica, but as we all know that wouldn't be the case and she died on November 14th. The past year has certainly not been an easy one for her family and everyone who were close to the icon, but there have been many tributes paid to her in her memory as we reach the one-year anniversary of her passing next month.
On Wednesday, a few of the dignitaries from the Real World & Challenge world came to Washington, D.C. to support The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance and to honor Diem's memory. The event was led by MTV's representative on Capitol Hill, Wisconsin Congressman and Real World Boston alum Sean Duffy. The caucus focused in on the disease that took Diem's life too soon, and representing her family was sister and cable news producer Megan Brown.

With them in the support team was Duffy's longtime wife and RW San Francisco alum Rachel Campos-Duffy and her SFO roommate & crush from that season (and original RW bad boy) David "Puck" Rainey. Also there was Challenge vet & erstwhile podcaster Derrick Kosinski, Real World New York OG Norman Korpi, and Challenge Free Agents champ Laurel Stucky.
They all had the opportunity to catch up, listen to the discussion on that disease and show support to cancer patients and survivors. All of this comes as the month of October begins, which is also breast cancer awareness month. Now, a slice of nostalgia. Given the subdued vibe I have with all this blog work, things happening outside this world and obviously the Vegas preparations, I don't brag about my social media activity on my social nets, except if it's something that's noteworthy and felt I wanted to share with everyone. And the latest instance of a Team MTV member from back in the day following me on Twitter was this week.
Those of you MTV fans in your late 20's to even upper 30's may remember Beth Stolarczyk from the 2nd season of Real World in Los Angeles all the way back in 1993. We saw an abortion, a wedding and a precursor to country's mainstream breakthrough, among others. And the most notable moment from a drama standpoint was the 2nd person from that cast turned follower of mine David going all in on future reality staple Tami and her blanket on night which led to his demise. And there's scene of the future basketball wife slamming the door on poor Beth as she escaped to the bathroom after that fight and before she went all in on poor Dave.
Beth would go on to a long Challenge career spanning until Gauntlet III in 2008 in her 30's. Since I'm a relative returnee to following the RW spinoff a few years ago after taking time off, I don't remember much of her stint on the show outside of her on earlier seasons when the show was just your typical friendly RW/RR competition. For you Challenge fans who've watched this show for a long time, then you remember seeing Beth get slapped by Tina, having her clothes being dumped into the pool by Tonya, and her dealings with Coral. And it was only last year that she joined with the majority of the RW .
In my archive is both some Real World books and a VHS tape of the original Real World Reunion show that aired 19 years ago which I remember watching back then. Perhaps, I'll be tempted to pop in that tape and read those books with memories coming back of the latest Real World'er to give this fan a follow. Again, thanks Beth for the follow...much appreciated.
Finally, some heartbreaking news to report for our fellow MTV Trifecta fans here. It was revealed earlier this week that during the same week that she celebrates her birthday, Real World Skeletons couple Tony and Madison announced that have split up. But as they wrote on social media, they have asked everyone for privacy as they deal with this in a timely & personal matter, and we'll be respectful of them in giving this item just a small mention here. All we can say here is that we hope everything will work out for them and that they'll stay strong & positive through this difficult time. And we know that they will be great parents as well, so again be respectful of them as they navigate through these stormy seas.
