Last week, the focus of the house was on the Lavender Ladies and on two-third's of the Young Bucks, and it was Ashley, Amanda, Sylvia, Shane, Nelson and Hunter, among others, who led the charge of a plot to try and send Bananas into elimination. Eyes were fixed, no less, on the Pop-Off Queen and her turbulent partner Zach... and no even the two, who were power team, could come up with a decisive pick of who to pick. And it was them who volunteered themselves in along with Da'Vonne & Jozea, who then saw our next pair of Mercenaries, Devin and Cory, invade just 24 hours after the ladder added Teen Mom to his illustrious MTV list... and they beat both to join the game.
Bananas was, no less, a key figure of last week's drama and this week, he comes into the week's challenge on the other end of the full Lavender Ladies and Young Bucks alliance that again has their eyes set on him and Tony. The teams in the main house have another tall task ahead of them having to run up an elevator shaft, figure out a puzzle, and propel themselves down the building, while redemption awaits an impending double cross. And it's what happens afterwards that sees the loyalty of the alliances get tested... which includes a move by one of world football's most prominent figures and something the previous power team could not do.

So, in what was a must-win for them, it's Bananas and Tony who regain power team status in the house by virtue of them winning that journey up an elevator shaft and down the rope with that puzzle and propelling themselves into the top spot in the main house. But the headlines were stolen by Marie: the headbutt with Sylvia, and then her and Cara doing what Zach & Amanda could not: suck it up for $1 million. And they now find themselves in elimination, which - by the way, I did not catch for that I am the man of the the house this week and had to take care of more important matters in the last few minutes than watching a TV show.
And on an additional note: as you saw in the beginning of this episode, Devin made mention of him being part of the original cast, but then having to leave South Africa and attend to the death of his father. As we wrote back when filming took place earlier this year, Devin's dad, Tim Molaghan, passed away just after his son left for this season... but Devin had to leave upon word of the youth baseball coach getting to him; hence, Bananas was exempt in the opening purge challenge in the premiere and leading to Tony being his replacement. Now, if you've been a visitor to this site all summer and fall, you might have spotted a little different running order as far as which show gets to lead off our weekly presentation. That's because usually the show that has led off our MTV coverage since July, Floribama Shore, had its midseason finale proceeding both this week's episodes of Final Reckoning and Are You The One. As is tradition for the final act of any series we cover - whether it's a show that feeds castmates into The Challenge system or not, the summer finale of Season 2 for Gus, Nilsa and friends will appear here after AYTO - which comes up here tomorrow. Then after that, our Debrief review will begin.
