MTV Reality WRAP: A Double Shot at Love with Pauly & Vinny - Season 2 Premiere

In a time where we are in need to love each other, there is always something to love whenever MTV Reality and the world of romantic reality television get together. In the past year, we've had an Ex On The Beach engagement, proposals aplenty for many of our favorite Challengers, the queen of Siesta Key turning her attention to a Bachelor bad boy, and Are You The One? reminding us that "Love Wins" no matter who you are. And in the Jersey Shore universe, we've had two weddings in a ten-month span with Mike the Situation and Angelina having their big days on the aisle.

And that brings us to the two guys in that group of Jersey OG's who are still single and ready to mingle: Pauly D. and Vinny. Last year, they were the objects of the relaunch of a late 2000's MTV show that predated the current wave of reality dating shows, A Double Shot at Love. The show that made Tila Tequila a star returned with a Jersey Shore vibe and saw twenty ladies compete for the affection of the bromance. The season ended, though, with mixed results: Vinny giving his rose to Alysse but that didn't last long for them, and Pauly deciding to stay single after courting Nikki.

Now comes the sequel, and a second chance at love for five of the contestants, a hope that this third time will be the charm for AYTO alum Maria, and a new experience for three guys that the ladies have brought along for the journey. And after the break to get you in the mood for tonight, DCBLOG's MTV Reality WRAP recaps the Season 2 premiere of A Double Shot at Love, Las Vegas style... and the debut of us covering on a weekly basis the world of Jersey Shore.


 THINGS TO KNOW 
THE SEASON 2 PREMIERE - Top Moments

❤️ HERE COME THE GIRLS (AND GUYS): We begin where most every journey to Las Vegas ends: McCarran International Airport just off the Strip. There, we meet five of the girls who have been a second chance to impress Pauly & Vinny. There's the three girls who call themselves the "East Coast, Beast Coast Crew" in B-Lashes, Derynn and Marissa, while coming from just up the road in Orange County is Suzi... and the one who we saw on AYTO Season 7 two years ago, Maria, who got close with Vinny last year. They are joined by three guys who the ECBC know from back home, Antonio, Brandon and Nicky, as they take up residency in a penthouse suite at The LINQ - the modernized version of the old Imperial Palace where I stayed at for my 2007 Vegas trip.


❤️ FIRST NIGHT OUT: Last year, those who got to work for Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club (and who was joined memorably by a friend of theirs, Kailah) were tackled with the tricky task of having to juggle work and play by the beach... it was also the same thing that faced The Real World Cancun kids all the way back in 2009. This time around, it's the task that awaits the Squad, Suzi and Maria as, instead of competing for the bromance's love, they're also working at a hybrid day & nightclub and pool at where Pauly works at, Drai's at The Cromwell right at the heart of the Strip. The man who heads up the operation is Justin, and below he meets up with everyone at the Palms.


❤️ HERE COMES NIKKI: Two years ago, there was Angelina's famous entrance into the Miami vacation abode... and then there's this: the only one to have not made that trip with everyone else is Nikki, still understandably heartbroken after Pauly's rejection of her last year. Maria rings her up down in L.A. as she asks the star of Season 1 if she would want to head up to Vegas for another shot at love... and a day later, she arrives after Maria tells everyone about it. This'll be quite a summer...
