Hello again, and we welcome you Inside MTV Reality at DCBLOG... we know the past two weeks have been chaotic to say the least. But we know many of you come to reality TV for a temporary escape, and we're so glad you're here with us on this first weekend in June. So, let's get on with it...
But perhaps the biggest moment of the first half - and one that certainly shook all of us - came when two blood rivals whose lineage and bad blood dates back to consecutive Real World seasons fifteen years ago that was then followed by fifteen Challenges. That, of course, is the unlikely alliance being formed by Johnny Bananas and Wes, and this week may represent a turning point in the year's most unlikely bromance. And as the focus for a bunker where we're actually allowed to see what's going on turns to the game itself, a seasonal favorite for host TJ Lavin comes along, as brains are about to tested in some good old trivia.
After the break, all the action, reaction and interaction of Week 10 of Total Madness along with some additional perspective that links the two big faces of this season to that in another sport, plus more on a guy who is Bananas' equal in being a perfect reality TV villain taking his talents to TJ's Vegas digs - but for something different. Welcome to the weekend everyone... you deserve this.
As we begin, most of the Twitter timelines this week was devoted almost entirely to Black Lives Matter and the protests that have ripped our nation apart. In the interest of those of you who need a break from it - and capitalizing on our new slogan of this being "The Escape You Deserve," we've decided to cut to the chase and go straight into Challenge Wednesday and the episode itself.

I'm not saying...it's production's fault; Bananas cheated; I got robbed; this isn't fair; woah is me! I lost fair and square. This loss rests firmly on my shoulders.
I'd like to formally congratulate Bananas on his win, and a very deserved red skull. He's always been jealous of my red skull, and now has his own. 👏 It was a shit load of fun working with him this season. I hope that no one, especially him, interprets my move as anything other than both of us knowing it was time to go in.
I'm proud of how I played this game. -I only had a single vote cast in my direction the entire season, by a man who was promptly removed. / -I won more daily challenges than anyone else, and used that power to make moves that led to the demise of the people that stood the best shot at hurting me long-term. / -I'm proud of myself for the courage it takes to volunteer to go into an elimination when technically, I had complete control to sit back, safely.
I'm also incredibly proud of MTV for creating the greatest competition show on the planet; & I'm thankful to be a small part of that machine. But more importantly I'm proud of how they've handled these major societal hurdles that the world is battling. MTV is more than TV; they're a strong voice of my generation. They've pointed me in the right direction in the past several months about where to donate. They've vetted partnership organizations for me about who needed the most support, & could accomplish the most with the added promotion/funding. They've encouraged action immediately upon it becoming the right thing to do as opposed to after it became cool. They're the reason why I've been surrounded by the most diverse people on the planet, making it easier for me to be empathetic to all walks of life. They've turned my colleagues & I into a weapon of peace and change. These wars are not over. We're not at the finish line. But I see you. And I like what I see

IG/@westonbergmann: This was a fantastic episode. But I lost. Why did I lose? I lost a little bit of focus. I could have been a little more methodical. I mis-read the structural integrity of an apparatus that I should be familiar with. Notice something? I'm not saying...it's production's fault; Bananas cheated; I got robbed; this isn't fair; woah is me! I lost fair and square. This loss rests firmly on my shoulders.
I'd like to formally congratulate Bananas on his win, and a very deserved red skull. He's always been jealous of my red skull, and now has his own. 👏 It was a shit load of fun working with him this season. I hope that no one, especially him, interprets my move as anything other than both of us knowing it was time to go in.
I'm proud of how I played this game. -I only had a single vote cast in my direction the entire season, by a man who was promptly removed. / -I won more daily challenges than anyone else, and used that power to make moves that led to the demise of the people that stood the best shot at hurting me long-term. / -I'm proud of myself for the courage it takes to volunteer to go into an elimination when technically, I had complete control to sit back, safely.
I'm also incredibly proud of MTV for creating the greatest competition show on the planet; & I'm thankful to be a small part of that machine. But more importantly I'm proud of how they've handled these major societal hurdles that the world is battling. MTV is more than TV; they're a strong voice of my generation. They've pointed me in the right direction in the past several months about where to donate. They've vetted partnership organizations for me about who needed the most support, & could accomplish the most with the added promotion/funding. They've encouraged action immediately upon it becoming the right thing to do as opposed to after it became cool. They're the reason why I've been surrounded by the most diverse people on the planet, making it easier for me to be empathetic to all walks of life. They've turned my colleagues & I into a weapon of peace and change. These wars are not over. We're not at the finish line. But I see you. And I like what I see

COMPARING #TeamBanergie TO TIGER & PHIL
For some additional context to this, and for those who have been enjoying Total Madness during this hiatus from live sport this spring, what happened this week brings to mind something else that took place recently in the sports world. In the driving rain in Florida on Memorial Day weekend two weeks ago, Tiger Woods & Phil Mickelson faced off on the golf course in the second edition of The Match for COVID charity (which also pitted NFL rivals Tom Brady and Peyton Manning). That battle in using that one-on-one format of match play ended with Tiger taking the second after Lefty won the first - similar to Bananas and Wes splitting their two battles in the final for the cash and their two duels in the elimination floor.
As the two golfers who've dominated the past two decades of the game, Tiger and Phil were once huge rivals who elevated their sport from niche level into a powerhouse as prize money increase as did interest increased all year long outside the major championships. They have combined for twenty-one of those in the Masters, PGA Championship and the U.S. & British Opens with Tiger having 15 of those and Phil having six, and Tiger is one win away from becoming the PGA Tour's all-time winningest player. But as they're now older, that rivalry has diminished a bit and they can just be better off on a more amicable level, much like Jack Nicklaus & Arnold Palmer before them.
The same goes for Bananas and Wes in the aftermath of their elimination battle... and going into this season you would have never imagined that they'd be working together, let alone put aside their rivalry when they were eliminated early last season, which brought them and Laurel to the MTV Movie & TV Awards where they walked the red carpet together. But Bananas' win now vaults him to the top of the Vegas odds as he's now in the driver's seat to perhaps add a seventh ring by the time one or more of the four major sports gets back into action. And after it was all over, the two combatants sounded off on Instagram.

BAD CHAD TAKES VEGAS
To more outrageous matters: just hours after this episode aired on the west coast, at midnight Pacific time Thursday morning some of the hotels and casinos in Las Vegas began to reopen after three months of being closed due to corona. Sin City will be a focal point once again for us as our next post will preview the new season of A Double Shot At Love, which will also mark our debut covering weekly a portion of the Jersey Shore franchise. But to get you in the mood for DJ Pauly D. & Vinny, someone who knows at thing about love on reality television is about to take Las Vegas as well.
Chad has been through a lot so far in 2020 with his arrest and domestic violence charge against his YouTube ex-girlfriend Annalise Mishler, followed by him diving into that exotic world known as OnlyFans. Well now, Chad's obsession with that app is taking a step further into something even more exciting: a move up to Las Vegas not only to be closer to where the Jersey guys hang out a lot in or perhaps more real estate work, but the world of adult entertainment. TMZ cameras spotted him last week doing house searching with Hulk Hogan's son Nick and his adult film star girlfriend for a site which he plans to do something a bit more wild than Wes' Friends & Benefits project. We'll see what happens with that as the world of Bad Chad continues.
