MTV Reality WRAP: Siesta Key - Season 3's First Two Weeks of Summertime

It's now officially the summer of 2020, and usually we would all be celebrating and jumping for joy. That's not happening this time, as we're still in the COVID wilderness along with the social upheaval going on in the streets. But there is something to look forward to for those who love sultry drama coming to us from where there's over 300 days of sunshine every year: Florida, and the beachside enclave of Siesta Key. It's our fifth time heading down to this town on the outskirts of Sarasota outside of Tampa Bay, and officially it is the second half of Season 3 of the East Coast cousins of Laguna Beach & The Hills. And we were here earlier this winter as they shared top billing with their crazy cousins at Floribama Shore.

To get you up-to-speed on what went down in the first half of this steamy & scandalous season: the item that had day one'rs and the casuals alike glued to their TV's was of Juliette getting over her ex-boyfriend Alex. She did exactly that with a man someone much more well-known and where we relived his first journey to stardom last night: The Bachelorette's Robby Hayes, who snapped her up at Stagecoach... but as time went on that romance dissipated into the ocean as did a phone during that infamous housewarming. We also had Madisson landing a romance of her own: this time with someone behind the fourth wall in a former executive producer much older than her, while her ex Brandon found himself in a love triangle involving bad girl Amanda. And there's that bombshell at the end of that, which came after that trip up to Nashville.

Now, we're back in town for more drama and where more secrets will be uncovered, as they only can in this small town. We'll recap the episodes 1 & 2 of the summer half of Season 3 ahead to get you set for Episode 3 tonight, and we'll also meet the first all-Siesta Key baby. Welcome back to paradise....


 THINGS TO KNOW 
SEASON 3B - Episodes 1 & 2


● GALA DRAMA: We begin with something that's always anticipated whenever we come to this town: the parties... and the first one this summer sees everyone dress up for a charity benefit at a private estate, and the queen takes best dressed honors. But on Jules' mind is still what went down in Nashville: on day 2 of that trip in Music City she found herself in bed with the ex, and she is ready to spill the beans about it. The question is, is the gala the appropriate place to do it? Relive it for yourself below, but before that Chloe and Amanda talk about the events there and how she reacts to the handbag deal might be the reaction on your face too...



● MADISSON HAS A TALK: If having an affair with a certain someone in the spotlight has brought much notoriety for the king & queen, you can certainly ask about a relationship with someone behind the fourth wall. That's what Madisson has had after she dropped a bombshell of her and a former 40-year-old producer of the show being this close - and who can forget Chloe having wine? Below, she and Ish have a moment to see if they can settle down at home where she is, or where he is out west.



● PUMPKINS & MIXED SIGNALS: As another party awaits everyone in the Key, it's Halloween that's on the mind of the clique... and while they prepare for ghouls and goblins the ladies and a friend of the ex, Joe, head out to a pumpkin patch to help carve those jack-o-lanterns. Earlier this year, Kelsey had some renewed feelings for Jared, but now it seems she has rekindled things with Garrett as they plan to go to the party together. But as she tells Joe & Jules, there might be some flags up...


● EX IN THE CLUB: Thanks to having followed four seasons of Ex On The Beach starring three of those who Jules' ex fought for to score a Texan's heart, we're accustomed to unexpected invasions by blasts from the past. For this Halloween party in Siesta, it's the exes who steal the show in a party in the club where there are real-life ghosts compared to what we're used come October 31st. There's not one, but several of those who walk in: Brandon's ex Camilla, Madisson's ex Ben, Amanda's ex JJ, and even Robby (?!). There's also a client who works for Garrett on his workout business in Carli... and then you thought you'd be safe to party the night away.

MEET BABY ALESSI

As we mentioned here back on Friday, there was a noticeable change to how this summer half of Season 3 will play out: after social media posts of an offensive nature resurfaced, MTV made the choice to cut Alex out of most of this season and will not be back for future seasons. It was an unfortunate outcome for a lot of us who anticipated what would happen with him and his girlfriend Alyssa, considering that she celebrated her birthday prior to the June 16th summer premiere at the same time of their biggest moment yet.

That would be of Alex and Alyssa welcoming their first baby: a week beforehand on Thursday morning, June 11th, they welcomed Alessi Kompo, measuring 8 lbs, 3 oz on the scale upon her arrival. The new mommy captioned on Instagram below, "Your first breath, took ours away 💕 June 11, 2020 7:24 am 8 lbs 3 oz. I am so incredibly in love with you my beautiful Alessi. Thank you for changing our lives forever 💖 To everyone who has reached out, THANK YOU 🎀 I didn’t have my phone the entire time in the hospital because I just couldn’t get enough of our sweet blessing 🥰 #babyA #theAteam #AlessiKompo" 

And the new dad added, "The most incredible moment of my life... Is when I met you Alessi💗😍xoxo" And like it was for another MTV Reality couple in Cory Wharton & Taylor Selfridge, Alex & Alyssa will be raising their kid in a different manner than they expected: in private and without MTV cameras in tow, but we know that "The A Team" will be great parents... our congrats go out to them.
