DC WRAP Double Shot: AYTO Second Chances EP. 4 & Challenge Invasion Wk10

On this Easter Sunday, welcome back to DCBLOG's look inside the MTV Trifecta as we bring now bring you, a little earlier than usual, the WRAP as we now recap Are You The One? Second Chances Ep. 4 and Week 10 of The Challenge Invasion. Of course, this past week saw a lot go down: the second steal in the AYTO house, a bloodbath in the Challenge house and, as brought you back on Friday, Alex burning the money on Stranded with a Million Dollars.

   Now, with this past week's Challenge elimination not fully complete, again by rule we'll be tabling over the recap of that episode to next week and an extended edition of Things to Know. And in lieu of that, we'll be heading into the Strategy Room to look at where this season all stands. But on this abbreviated post, we'll be focusing more on what happened in Melbourne, with additional thoughts from those involved in the steal, and of course all the related particulars. And on ExtraTime, we'll have two reunions to share with you...join us there next.

THINGS TO KNOW

AYTO Second Chances Wk 4

♥ MAKING MOVES: As we begin, Carolina knows Hayden's relationship with her is just for show, and with Nate gone for over a week someone new decides to make a move on her: Adam. However, that doesn't work, and to add more to this she has no idea what he's saying about her behind her back... more on that shortly. Meantime, Asaf begins to eye his match Kaylen as he begins to let her know if they want to turn this relationship from a civil one to a romantic one. And with Gio gone, Alicia can now focus on her match Mike...a late night talk might make them a good match.

♥ GOING THRIFTING: Challenge #4 sees the group being given a big task: having to compromise in having to spend $200 on gifts for locals in the Melbourne area by going to a thrift mall in downtown, with the team that does best wins $40,000 and safety. This mission seems to baffle some couples in having to having to come up with the best things to get, such as the two aforementioned Season 4 teams, but in the end Morgan & Tori who become the top gift-giving match out of the house and they retain power couple status, winning their second straight mission. And for the second straight week, Asaf & Kaylen finish last and face possible elimination.

♥ ANOTHER STEAL: While on their mission, Carolina begins to wonder, "Is his head in the game, or is his head on Gianna?" As they struggle shopping, it appears any chance of them making amends make be all gone, considering Hayden's intentions to betray her. And when the two discuss possibly leaving and them having likely no chance to win, his head appears leaning towards coming home to Gianna. And as everyone else understands where he's coming from, Shanley talks to Carolina about this whole thing, but the newbie has no idea the house to trying to manipulate them and save Asaf & Kaylen again. And when she & Hayden get into it, he tells Carolina to steal the money in elimination.

   And then, it comes to this: Carolina tells him, "I feel like our relationship has been horrible but at the end of the day I want you to trust me so I think you know to trust me to make the best choice for us." And Hayden responds, "I want whatever happens to us to be your decision and no matter what happens I trust you to make the best decision for us. The ball is in your court." The decision goes down: Carolina opts to share, while Hayden opts to STEAL. She's left to say, "Money can't buy you happiness," and he answers, "It can buy me a boat."

 ENDGAME 

THE STEAL, PART II

For this latest big moment to go down in the MTV Trifecta, there are, of course, multiple sides to each story whenever something as controversial and noteworthy as this comes up. Seeing Hayden take all the money from Carolina and bringing it back home to Gianna in the Midwest is one of them.

   Here at this site, it's our philosophy that we don't take a side whenever any beef arises with any cast members in the MTV Trifecta, and when possible we make every opportunity to show all sides of the story if we get to cover it. And in the wake of this latest steal, here now from Instagram and from Twitter, the thoughts of Carolina, perfect match Hayden and his girlfriend, Gianna...and the girls had more to say than him. (To illustrate another point in us giving everyone equal treatment, we also gave all three of them their own ExtraTime bits during AYTO Season 5, too.)

CAROLINA
♥ IG/@carooduartee: "I know who I am. I know I have a big heart and I know I am a good person. For anyone to say otherwise obviously doesn't know me and probably isn't in their right mind. For gianna to say I was only thinking of myself blows my mind, I always put others before myself to the point where I got 30k stolen from me from someone you call "babe" , someone you congratulated on their "win", I'm sorry but that's not a win that's betrayal. I get that some of you support them , and honestly I had nothing against them and I never had the intention of getting in between their relationship. But you don't need to kick me when I'm down. I went through a lot with these two and they, especially hayden, hurt me a lot. And for them to try to say I'm playing the "victim" is ridiculous. I have a right to be upset and angry, put yourself in my shoes and imagine how you would feel. Those two should have nothing to be proud of and the fact that they can't just own up and apologize to me just goes to show they deserve each other. When hayden stole from me he also stole from my family. I told him how much my family could have used the money and how I wanted to make them proud and he has the nerve to say I didn't deserve it. Why? Cause I get frustrated under pressure and I annoy you? You know I didn't deserve that. No one does. I only wish you could see life through my eyes for one day, maybe you would understand. But I won't let anyone change me not even a heartless individual like you. I will always have my integrity and you will have a cheating girlfriend and a couple thousand dollars. Hope your happy in 10 years from now, when it really matters."

It sucks that we went through this insane experience and all got our hearts and minds messed with and at the end of the day, you couldn't stop thinking of yourself for a damn minute. You know what went down with our situation in that house and before Australia we were all supposedly on the same page. It wasn't just you who went through all of that hurt, I can't say there wasn't one person in that whole house who didn't go through some hurt. But of course when cameras are on no ones situation mattered except yours. So next time you want to trash someone's relationship bc it's not yours, think twice. A COAST-TO-COAST GATHERING

This past week saw many of the castmates of The Challenge Invasion and alumni from the first five seasons of Are You The One? gather. For the Challenge cast, they gathered in New York to tape the Reunion and other things that will come our way in the coming weeks. And for Team AYTO, they gathered down in SoCal to catch up on old times along with taping material for MTV and MTV.com as we head towards the conclusion of this Trifecta cycle. And as we wrap this somewhat abbreviated edition of the WRAP, we'd like to share with you some of these portraits, courtesy of Twitter, Instagram and SnapChat.

♥ First, if you have been checking out our Pulse diaries or your timelines leading into and during AYTO Second Chances, you've noticed that two people have been at it socially. And the both of them have something in common of being the least-liked guys of their original AYTO seasons: Devin on Season 3 two years ago, and Gio from Season 4 last year. Well, we don't know what the format for the next Challenge is, but if it's a Rivals season then this past week, they had to squash their beef to avoid potentially getting paired for a Rivals IV. The two joined AfterBuzz TV for this week's AYTO Second Chances recap - for which the picture of them with the show's hosts are located above, and we'll have the link to that on our Strategy Room post coming up then.
