If the press dub Floribama as the more relatable of all the iterations of the Shore franchises that air on MTV channels anywhere, than last week offered proof of it in a roller coaster of emotions. Candace got a call about Gator Jay from back home that caused her to rethink her relationship with him after that disaster of a visit from him. After a test showed that she was not pregnant, the house threw Kortni a party on the beach, but she then had mixed emotions about the whole situation that was further magnified when she revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage.
And at night's end, Jeremiah was dealt devastating news when he got word of his grandpa's death... and this week the group will do whatever they can to keep his mind off of it before he tends to a thing greater than this experience: being with family. However, things get out of hand when one of the girls gets drunk and puts a damper on the night's activities, causing a sudden friction with one she's grown close to in Panama City Beach. And the roommates split up with a girls' trip to try and patch things up, and a guys' weekend with the house all to themselves... and with a surprise visitor.

Along with the fun and drama we've been seeing all summer, it feels like we've been having This is Us vibes the past couple weeks with all the teary-eyed moments from our Floribama bunch... Gus getting to welp after revealing more about the troubled relationship with his family, and on a dramatic side with Nilsa & Aimee having some friction after a fight between them takes place when Jeremiah had to come to grips with his grandpa's death. It's been quite a past couple weeks in PCB.
Well, we're just getting started here... this week sees plenty go down in MTV land - not withstanding what we had earlier with Snooki's friend Joey becoming the star of tonight's Jersey Shore Family Vacation. But here's what have in store here in the next few days...
● First: an issue that's been prevalent during this Challenge trilogy again rears its ugly head on Final Reckoning along with a death-defying challenge that will sure get some adrenaline flowing. We'll then head to Hawaii for Are You The One? as not one, but TWO hours of drama take over with the biggest truth booth yet and things also boiling over in paradise. And we also have some fun stories share with you involving salsa, snow and some love in between this week's Pulse diaries.
● Early next week, a post you all have been waiting for over a year will finally see daylight at the end of the summer: the long-promised, long-anticipated Reality Debrief review of 2017-18 starting early next week to usher in the new broadcast calendar... Andrew Kirk and I will have lots to dissect and discuss from our favorite shows before we determine a winner on Big Brother 20 and start up a new season of Survivor... as well as Cheyenne & Cory coming over to Teen Mom also.
● And along with those, Summer officially ends on Saturday when the Autumn Equinox ushers in the fall. And with it comes the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, which this year sees Justin Timberlake, Shawn Mendes, Mariah Carey, Imagine Dragons, Logic, Panic! at the Disco, Kelly Clarkson, Rae Sremmurd, Sam Smith and more take the stage. DCNOW at @DC408DxNow will have live interaction tomorrow & Saturday night, and it's also on The CW and iHeartRadio apps.
