Winter is now over, as far as those who measure the seasons of ecology have it... although the snow that fell in the Midwest this weekend might say otherwise. And as far as those who are working at Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club is concerned, they are heading towards the end of an eventful summer working for the queen of the Mean Girls in Mykonos, Greece, as she and business partner Panos went about making her new resort on the Mediterranean the place to be in one of Europe's premier summer destinations.

During this summer, the dozen VIP hosts -- Alex, Aristotle, Billy, Brent, Gabi, Jonitta, Jules, Kyle, May, Mike, Sara, and Challenge & Real World vet Kailah -- have all found themselves having to mix being in paradise with having the toughest work assignment ever. Some of them flew in as latecomers to the party, others were sent home for not giving 110% to their work, relationships were formed, and plenty of drama in between. And they've met familiar faces in AYTO host Terrence J. and Lindsay's ex Nico Tortorella, have dealt with questionable behavior from the resident Vegas party expert, and create the summer's most iconic & viral dance move in #DoTheLilo.

Last time out, the hosts welcomed Sophie and Nathan of Geordie Shore - the show that gave America new Challenge star Kyle, but what Mike did in pulling off his pants in public that found him in hot water with the bosses... and this week he will learn his fate. It will also be the case for the rest of the house as they will also learn by the end of their last few days in Greece of which VIP's will stay with her & Panos for a second summer overseas. But no summer in any MTV Reality show can end without one last piece of big drama, and in this case an attempt for one to make piece with the other hosts leads to fireworks with one of the VIP's.

After the jump, the Pulse of the season finale of Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club, as we bring the month of March to a close.

DC ExtraTime: Lending A Helping Hand in Panama City

This past week saw the end of a stellar 9-month run on MTV for Gus Smyrnios of Floribama Shore, when he and Jenna Compono succumbed in elimination to Bear and Da'Vonne on The Challenge: War of the Worlds. It all began when Gus moved in for his second summer in Panama City Beach, Florida with the rest of his Floribama castmates and got to live it up again on a show described by many as realer and more relatable than the show that preceded it in the global MTV Shore franchise, Jersey Shore.
It wasn't that long ago that Gus made his MTV debut as that ladies man from the same hometown and common roots as Are You The One alum turned Challenge champ Hunter Barfield -- Perry, FL -- and made a name for himself on the same channel as a guy whose fiery personality infamously cost him a share of $1 million on Final Reckoning last year. Gus is one who the ladies love for being a true Southern gentleman and who has graced many a book cover, but one who never shies away from showing his emotions especially when it comes to the icy relationship he has with his family.

While PCB has seen a renaissance in national interest thanks to the two seasons of Floribama Shore being filmed in a past host city of MTV's annual Spring Break festivities - and as many college students are spending their week's escape from the grind of the school year there this weekend, the town has also made news for a much different reason in the past year. No, it's not the initial negativity locals feared would bring to their town when it premiered two years ago, but something that those who live in this part of the country brace themselves for once Memorial Day comes around: the Atlantic hurricane season.
And it's one that took place this past year -- and one that deeply affected so many people in a region of almost 180,000 people -- that gave reason for Gus and his cast to return to town earlier this month during Spring Break to lend a helping hand to their adopted hometown.

Hey there, it's the last day of March and a Sunday Funday... and we at DCBLOG have a treat for you here: three posts from the world of MTV Reality, including a drama-filled finale from that paradise in the Mediterranean known as the Lohan Beach Club. But first, we are right at the halfway point of the season of a show that, thanks to its move to Hump Day (and though it's not our thing to mention anything related to the numbers game of TV viewership), has those who air at the midway point of the weekly primetime TV schedule, 9PM on Wednesday nights, wondering where the viewers have gone. They're enjoying that thing on MTV known as The Challenge: War of the Worlds.

Last week, the competitors tackled their first challenge involving anything related to their fear of heights while being blindfolded hundreds of feet above in a game of trust. At the same time, those who came from the U.S. began to realize that the British have been dominating this game and will continue to align themselves to each other as long as this goes on. And an uphill survival test in elimination went down to mere inches: a last-second mistake by Josh and Amanda cost them a chance to give Kam her earliest Challenge exit, and Killa Kam and Ashley C. turned that miscue into her seventh win in a regular elimination tilt.

As we return to Namibia, for our overseas friends the competitor with the biggest notoriety coming into his American debut will find himself again in the midst of the drama going on here that, thanks to a call, will put Mr. Bear in a precarious spot. For the season's first water-based challenge, a person who comes from the world's only continent surrounded entirely by water will have to conquer a phobia of competing in the water if they want to retain top team status. And more drama is abound for the man whose behavior last season cost him his share of $1 million, while whoever gets picked to go to elimination will have to tackle a classic game of pole wrestle to make it to the halfway mark.

All that and more is ahead on the Pulse of Week 8 of The Challenge: War of the Worlds. Welcome on in... it's nice to have you with us.

BACKTRACKED EDITION

It is now the final weekend of March 2019, and we're well into springtime - and for many of you out there, it's Spring Break. And for a season that a night before the winter solstice - the shortest day of the year, we are at the end of Season 2 of Ex On The Beach U.S., which saw an all-star cast of ten reality castaways arrive in Malibu and endure more drama that they can handle than the scorching Southern California sun.

Previously on Episode 13, the group welcomed the season's last ex, Tor'i from Season 1, with nothing but an icy reception after Angela's massive tirade on him at the beach. But that's not all that the house had to put up with: two more trips to the Shack of Secrets awaited the house including, yes, Angela & Tor'i when her phone was browsed through by him in a reversal of what happened in the very first SOS. And Nurys saw Nelson once again in the shack, and preceded to send home Chad's ex Maddie, one of two eliminations that night which also saw Perez get the boot as well.

For last year's final act, we saw Chase reject Victoria and Angela & Tor'i become official - only of course for what went down after they left the house. For what goes down this time around for the Season 2 EOTB finale, the three girls who were sent home either for bad behavior or the midseason exes vote return to find out if they are truly over their ex. Along with the last Crush ceremony and seeing which couples may leave the house with crush necklaces in hand, the house is not quite out of the woods just yet, as the truth will reveal itself through a lie detector test to see if their relationship are as honest and truthful as they can be.

After the jump, find out who is being upfront, who is not and who is together as DCBLOG brings you a backtracked installment of the 'Pulse of the Finale of Season 2 of Ex On The Beach U.S., plus Kam,  Derrick H. and Nicole Z. continue their quest for love on Game of Clones, more reaction to Week 7 of War of the Worlds, and Spring Break in Cancun. And welcome to the weekend, everyone...

This is Spring Break Week in the land of MTV world, as this week sees a finale, a reunion and fireworks aplenty in the channel's reality programming. But amidst the sun & fun, let us a DCBLOG bring you the 'Pulse of the most recent episode of The Challenge: War of the Worlds...

When we were last in Africa, the competitors channeled their own Mad Max hanging on a wire of moving tires in the desert, and where the vets again reaffirmed their flag in the ground. We also had an opportunity to find out more about Kam and Leroy's relationship as she began to lay her eyes on Love Islander Theo, especially after the Vegas barber man may have seen his last Challenge chance slip by. And the man who hasn't had the opportunity to stake his claim to the title of the master manipulator to a bunch of newbies had the opportunity to destroy the British alliance.

And after what we saw with Da'Vonne and Bear winning in elimination, in Week 7 the attention turns for Team USA towards Team GB and the alliance the British have which they fear is getting too strong. It all comes as the fears the competitors have each season of being hundreds of feet above ground takes place as those scaries are being put to the test as the team are being blindfolded. And while one player reveals an attraction to their teammate, by night's end we'll be nearing the halfway point once the combatants in elimination face an uphill battle for survival.

After the jump, the Pulse of last week's episode of The Challenge: War of the Worlds before an all new episode airs in a few hours' time.

Hey there... the weekend is coming to an end, and so is the summer for the VIP's who are calling Mykonos, Greece home at Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club. Their stay in LiLo's eclectic setting of an escape from reality has seen so much go down, but the sun will soon set on their amazing and often times stressful experience, as the season finale and one last wave is ahead of them. First things first though: the 'Pulse of Episode 11 from the Club.

Week 10 saw the group whisked off to sea for a day's excursion at sea on a fabulous yacht on the Greek sea... but the drama that has affected the group all season long didn't exactly stay at the villa where the house's stance of being against Brent once again put a damper on things. And the Vegas club promoter himself also had to endure having to see the one who he get away, Sara, find herself in the arms of one Billy as she began to explore romantic possibilities with the gentle giant.

Those of us who've been watching the global expansion of The Challenge, and those who are into MTV's most visible franchise, know about Geordie Shore, where Kyle has become a key figure the past year and where fellow Newcastle native Zahida had a hand in knocking off Johnny Bananas on War of the Worlds. This week sees two of those they lived with on several series of Jersey Shore's British equivalent, Sophie Kasaei and Nathan Henry, be the latest big names to drop by, and the hosts will pull out all the stops to please our friends from Tyneside. But when one of the VIP's decides to take their dedication to another level, they'll have to face some unexpected consequences, as does another in his quest to score Sara's heart.

After the jump, Geordie Shore invades Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club... thanks for joining us here.

DC ExtraTime: The Lohan Beach Club and Marvel Cinematic Universe Unite

BY DC CUEVA

Brie Larson as Captain Marvel
Many years ago, the most iconic animated TV series of our time, The Simpsons, envisioned a world where 20th Century Fox would once become owned by The Walt Disney Company when it combined the searchlight logo of the former with a tagline of the ladder in one now memorable screencap. That pipe dream became a reality this week when Mickey Mouse's ambition of taking over one of his studios' rivals was realized when Disney completed the company's $71 billion takeover of much of 21st Century Fox, including its movie studio, TV production arm and other assets... creating a powerful media super conglomerate.
This news came at the most opportune time for those who follow the movies just ahead of the summer blockbuster season that kicks off in over a month from now. The now combined Disney/Fox operation -- which turned Hollywood's major film studios into the Big Five -- now distributes films not only from their two main film studio units, but also the iconic family animated films by Disney Animation and Pixar - including Toy Story, the Star Wars franchise, and titles from Marvel Studios. All of these assets will provide the ammunition for Disney to take on Netflix for world domination in the streaming sphere, which includes the top-grossing film of this spring.
When the Disney/21st Century Fox merger became official late Tuesday night, those who avidly follow Marvel Comic movies began to discuss the seemingly inevitable prospects of all of their favorite characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe being under one roof, with crossovers now all but certain. Think of that as the fantasies coming true for everyone connected to this world the same way Challenge fans imagine having all of their favorite Challengers competing in one mega-season. The Universe is miles ahead of all other movie franchises in having grossed over $17.5 billion at the box office, part of a $28 billion business when merchandise sales and other related things are factored in.

Earlier this month saw the release of the 21st film in an MCU saga that dates back to Iron Man over a decade ago, and last year produced the year's two biggest films as measured by the cash flowing in at the box office: Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther. The new film is Captain Marvel, which strategically dropped on International Women's Day, March 8th, and is the first of its kind in the Marvel franchise where a woman is playing its lead role: Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson playing superhero Carol Danvers, a comic book character who bears the movie's title. Anna Boden and filmmaking partner Ryan Fleck co-wrote & directed a movie set in 1995, which sees Carol become Captain Marvel when the world finds itself in between two alien worlds in conflict.
Clark Gregg playing
Agent Coulson
Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, Ben Bendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Annette Bening and Gemma Chan join Bree on the cast, as is someone whose lineage in the MCU goes all the way back to the beginning. Agent Philip Coulson appeared in Iron Man eleven years ago, along with its 2010 sequel, Thor and The Avengers, and is the lead character on ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson serves as a high-ranking member of the espionage agency, and has been featured in comics, a digital series and other media. Captain Marvel sees the Agent back when he was a rookie on the police force... and the role itself -- the longest lineage of anyone who's appeared in the MCU --  is portrayed by Clark Gregg, who's also done voice work for Marvel's animated series, and pre-Marvel appeared on The West Wing, Will & Grace and The New Adventures of Old Christine.
It would seem a strange segueway from a spring blockbuster movie that‘s garnered over $800 million at the global box office to an MTV Reality series, but there is one link... thanks in part to the kind of link-up that can only happen when you live down in the land of the stars: Hollywood.

DC SocialPulse: Ex On The Beach 2 EP13 and Game of Clones' Challenge Takeover

Hey there folks, we're almost at the end of an eventful Season 2 of Ex On The Beach 2, the American iteration of MTV's global "relationship s+++ show." And quite a season it has been as we inch closer to the finale, which airs tonight.

If what has transpired in the course of the past three months has been something, then we were obviously not ready for what went down in Week 12. First, Nicole did what those of you who watch The Challenge know as a Camila: hitting a crew member off-camera and getting kicked out of the house after Maddie made fun of her at a cast roast. And we saw bromance/cuddle partners Corey and Jozea have a falling out of sorts. But those were minor occurrences compared to Angela having to endure the season's biggest ex arrival in Season 1 original Tor'i, sparking her biggest meltdown yet.

With the man who now gets to slam dunk his way through the traffic with basketball's most iconic franchise now in the house, Episode 13 sees the house have to go through not one, but two trips into the Shack of Secrets. First, something that occurred on the very first episode of this series comes back to haunt an original when she gets to see the other side of what she got to do with her Season 1 Ex a year ago. Then, one half of the love triangle that came into this house gets to determine if she will give another chance to her Ex... and the Exes themselves face one final Cut or Crush elimination.

All the action, reaction and interaction from the penultimate episode of EOTB USA 2 is ahead... plus, we'll join Season 1 Ex and dual Challenge/AYTO alum Derrick H. and his Season 5 castmate Kam, along with Challenger Nicole Z., for an all-Challenge episode of Game of Clones... guess which celeb lookalikes they will get to spend some quality time with. And afterwards, we'll have a first look at the show will that take over Thursdays next month, A Double Shot at Love with DJ Pauly D. and Vinny, and featuring a familiar AYTO face... All that and reaction to last week's Challenge episode is ahead before tonight's season finale.
