Inside MTV Reality: Welcome to The Challenge All-Stars

BY DC CUEVA

Just over a month ago, the man who serves as the co-host of the definitive audio talk show for perhaps the most revered show for those of us who watch and worship this world of MTV programming, Scott Yager, tweeted that those of us who have grown up with a cable channel known historically as Music Television should expect 2021 to be an amazing year. This is, after all, the 40th anniversary of MTV, and we are smack dab in the midst of what's shaping up to be a memorable spring in this world of reality television's most-talked about shows.

Right now, we are in the midst of the serious business just beginning on The Challenge Double Agents as it winds its way towards thinning out the number of competitors left in Iceland before it contests the season-end marathon for $1 million. One of the figures still left in the running is also going about being part of the universe surrounding Cheyenne Floyd on Teen Mom OG as she awaits the arrival of her second baby and third in the group that represents Challenge Nation in that sorority. And in Montana, Season 4 of Floribama Shore is well underway with plenty of drama having gone down as the Bam is getting used to being in lockdown in the north.

And then, there's the main event of this spring: this Thursday is the launch of The Challenge All Stars as it commences the Easter holiday weekend. And where it seems that the wide world of reality television has been represented on recent seasons of the fifth major pro sport on the conventional MTV cable channel, this spring those who you grew up with are returning for one more shot at pride and glory. And it will be airing on a totally new platform compared to what we're used to: ViacomCBS' entry into the streaming wars of Paramount+, which launched earlier this month to much fanfare.

Over twenty of those who have done either one of the two series that began the MTV Reality story three decades ago -- Real World or Road Rules, along with a Fresh Meat alum mixed in, will gather down in Argentina for another chance to scale the peaks of the Andes Mountains and the heights of this game to earn a shot at a half million dollars. And if what we've seen of late on the main Challenge series has been thrilling as far as the action goes, then we should be in for just as much when those who have not been on this series since a certain streaming competitor was just delivering movies through the mail take to the floor for a season unlike any other, though some things don't change down the years.

After the jump, DCBLOG takes our first look at The Challenge All-Stars as the OG's take center stage one more time. Thanks for joining us, Challenge Nation and welcome... we're glad you're here again.

Welcome back... earlier tonight, we brought you the Pulse of hour 1 of an early spring's double shot of Floribama Shore where something that's been an all too frequent occurrence in this world turned into something a bit more. An argument between Candace and Gus over him stealing her hairdryer saw him bolt out of the Montana cabin with just his shorts on... an ideal sight during the heat of summer, but certainly not in the winter's chill. It initiated a city-wide search for him by his housemates and those in production (including Shore impresario Sally-Ann Salsano), but he was found safe & sound and is in quarantine at a hotel as a precaution.

As we make our way back to the cabin, things are just about back to normal in the house... and that includes Codi deciding to add more to his highlight reel when he fell off of a recliner. And he's about to take off all of those clothes off once again, as the house vibe turns from a state of despair to something much different... and that includes Aimee's favorite dish that also doubles as the least favorite of the house considering what happened the first time they tried it. And the house is about to welcome a special guest to their bubble: a childhood friend of one of the housemates flies into town for a visit.

After the break, DCBLOG brings you the back-half of Montanabama Shore's double shot, as we wrap up this weekend dose of action, reaction and interaction of this week Inside MTV Reality...

If there is a place you would want to be on this late March's weekend, chances are you would want to be in Florida, in California or in Las Vegas -- they were in the 70's and 80's in the midst of Spring Break. But if you are in need for some winter fun at the end of the season of snow and just being isolated from civilization, you'd probably be spending some time in a cabin with those who are not used to the cold in the kids from Floribama Shore, as we're about to bring you a Double Shot of the Shore Pulse.

A month into our return engagement with our favorite Southerners, and we have already had plenty of drama going down in the Montana cabin, and previously we saw an attempt to bring the house together with a game night while being snowed in turn into something a bit too close for comfort for everyone. But given the group's new locale and getting used to anything but warm and pleasant conditions outside didn't deter Codi from taking a dip in the freezing cold wearing just his Speedos... it wouldn't be a season in Floribama without him going for a dive.

But it would also not officially be a season of this show without an argument about something so simple that it didn't need to be more than just a blowup. That would come to pass once again with Candace and Gus getting into it over her thinking that he stole her hairdryer. And at night's end, he bolted away from the house with just his shorts on in the 20-degree cold, and this week the roommates are suddenly finding themselves in more than a state of panic as they (and even those behind the fourth wall in production) go around town to search for him and to hope that he gets home safe and sound.

After the break, the DCBLOG Pulse brings you the first of a two-hour dose of the Floribama Shore as the house goes Searching for Gus...

Hello friends and welcome to the last week of March... a year ago at this time, we were in the early stages of what seemed to be a never-ending deluge of bad luck, but do count your blessings if you're lucky to be alive as we wrap the first quarter of 2021. And if you're lucky to be following MTV Reality as much as we are here, we're on the verge of some marvelous stuff to come in the next few months. But before that, we have the business at hand of the serious stuff starting up south of the Arctic Circle.

In short order, The Challenge Double Agents will approach the starting gate for the marathon to the $1 million, and last week the spies took to the water yet again: this time to find puzzle pieces beneath the surface that saw most falter and others find that they are a good team... and Kyle & Aneesa took back agent status in the house. But the focus of Week 14 would turn to the man who has many more partners than we can count, and Cory earned a shot at a skull which he took down Darrell to put himself into position to perhaps make his best shot at the money and secure the future for his two kids back home.

Also there, the daddy got to switch up the team order again and where now, CT and Big T are back together. And this week, they find themselves with a full plate on their desk: him having to deal with an arrogant sophomore while at the fun of an 80's dance party, the other trying to take off a rather unwanted distinction this late of the game of not being eligible as of yet to go for the money. And if that is not enough, one of them will also have just as terrifying a task as anyone will have in their lives: going for a dive from 15,000 feet above the ground to solve a puzzle as the agents inch closer to the final.

Ahead, DCBLOG brings you the 'Pulse of Week 15 of The Challenge: Double Agents as we head towards crunch time... plus, we inch ourselves closer to next week's launch of The Challenge All-Stars. And welcome to the weekend...

DC ExtraTime: Two Rings, A New Mom (Again) and Two New Dads...

BY DC CUEVA

Along with covering every episode of the shows we cover here and those occasions when this world of television's most-talked about reality programming crosses at the intersection of pop culture, it's always been a priority for us at DCBLOG to acknowledge just about milestone the people who've starred on these shows mark off camera. And in the past couple of weeks came several more of those: three MTV alumni from different sections of the generational gap getting to embark on that one sign that we are officially old, and three past Challengers saying their "I do's."

Courtesy: People Magazine
Say what you might about them, but there is probably little doubt that the current power couple in The Challenge community is Zach Nichols & Jenna Compono... it was six years ago at this time that we saw them first click on Battle of the Exes 2 just off of relationships with fellow Real World alumni which brought them to Costa Rica. And though there have been some bumps along the way they are now, as we love to say around here, each other's perfect match.
This has been quite a past sixteen months for #Zenna since they went to Rockefeller Center on the pre-Christmas Saturday in 2019 and stole some buzz from Eddie Murphy's return to SNL when he proposed to her at the base of the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas tree and got engaged just after she got home from competing on Total Madness. But while we've been watching Double Agents, it's most especially been an amazing winter for the couple when they announced their impending entry into parenthood when, on Valentine's Day they posted a picture of a sign with the words "Baby Nichols, Coming 2021." Then came a small, private gender reveal just a couple weeks later, where they popped a big balloon to find the color blue, emblematic of a baby boy.

Welcome back to the first full day of spring, and wherever you are you probably had a chance for a brief moment to head outside and enjoy the start of that annual season of renewal, most especially now. If you are lucky enough to had a chance to do that, you can be lucky that you aren't the Bam of Floribama Shore as they are finding themselves stuck indoors in relatively different settings than they are used to.

The reason for that reasoning is, of course, that they are in Montana and not in Florida for this portion of Season 4, as they are getting accustomed to much cooler conditions... and last week they found themselves getting snowed in by a winter blizzard. Being stuck inside means that the Bam have to find new things to do with no beach to go to, and that meant Candace having to call her parents back home to mislead them that she and Codi are engaged. But they also have to deal with what's gone on in the past - and that meant some brewed up feelings between Gus and Jeremiah, as well as allegations that our resident playboy may have cheated over in St. Pete Beach.

That argument turned fisticuffs between the former bromance more than foiled the plans by the house to try and bring the house together through a family game night... and this week the lingering effects of that game night gone bad will continue to radiate through the chateau. The snow that fell outside during the madness gives the house reason to do something they have either never or have rarely been able to do: have a snow day... and it also gives reason for the Puke & Rally King to let it all out in the freezing cold. And what could be a Floribama season without one of those odd fights involving something as simple or as essential to our life in lockdown as what you use to dry your hair after being in the shower?

We'll have all of that after the break as we at DCBLOG bring you the 'Pulse of Week 4 of Montanabama Shore... and thanks for wrapping up your busy spring day with us...

We have made it to the third weekend of March... and today, the madness we're accustomed to this time of year in American sports has returned in the form of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. At this time last year, there was another kind of madness that served as the only game in town in Total Madness, the season that proceeded this current one of MTV's The Challenge. The fifth major pro sport does have company this time around in terms of what we all can enjoy competition wise, as Double Agents rolls along up in Iceland.

Last week, the agents had to literally tough it out through pulling off an all-nighter as they had to survive a rough go of it by having to drink weird mixes, eat bad food and endure a night of hell in a cell. But even before they entered the voting chamber, the matchup in the Crater was already set in stone where, at night's end, Nany took her first elimination win since Rivals III... and this came on the 10th anniversary of her debut Real World season debuting at what will become the new Virgin Hotels Las Vegas come next weekend.

As the number of players are now dwindling towards single digits, this week the agents will turn their focus back to the water to try and solve a puzzle with pieces lying beneath the surface between something that might be of particular interest if you happen to know your geology. And while this daily challenge will determine whose communication and ability to handle the water will be better equipped to handle the marathon for the money, one man is eyeing to overcome having lost as many partners as any in any Challenge season ever and hope he can finally get back on track towards his first crown.

However in the minds of many of you, this week's thirteenth episode might as well serve as an afterthought of sorts to the week's main event: the official unveiling of the cast for the next chapter in Challenge history: the All-Stars spinoff season to begin concurrently with the homestretch of this Double Agents season and will eventually have the spotlight on its own this spring when it debuts during the Easter holiday weekend on Paramount+. And it leads off this week's edition of Challenge SocialPulse, which begins after the break... and thanks for joining us and welcome to the weekend.

DC ExtraTime: Someone You Should Know - Lexy Panterra

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB/TK

Along with this ongoing global pandemic, it was back in the early summer of last year that things as we knew it when it comes to the casts of some of reality TV's most vaunted franchises were upended by the Black Lives Matter movement when the police-initiated murder of George Floyd ignited the firestorm of protests that gripped the world's attention during a most chaotic year. And along with it affecting both The Challenge and Siesta Key, the past undoing's and actions by reality personalities also shook one of Hollywood's most well-known hangout joints.

Three years ago, Faith Stowers found herself as one of the ten entrants to the Ex On The Beach house in Hawaii and then competed on two seasons of The Challenge... but she was also someone unique in the environment of Vanderpump Rules. She was the only Black cast member of the Bravo series, being known before crossing into MTV space for her brief affair on Jax Taylor and causing him to cheat on Brittany Cartwright. And it was last year that a 2018 off-camera incident was brought to light where original VPR castmates Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute sent local police a false police report involving Faith. After it made waves in British red top tabloid The Daily Mail, Stassi used racially insensitive language when sharing that article while also discussing it on her podcast... but the damage had been done, and she & Kristen were booted from the show.

Faith is now plotting her own course in the world of reality television as she has been shopping around her own series to other outlets following her career in owning her own business in addition to following her life as a mom after beating out everyone else in the SUR world (including Scheana) to parenthood. And last week to kick off a different than usual Grammy Week, she got to hang out with one who has ambitions on becoming a household name as she got to drop some new music...

DC ExtraTime: And Another One Joins Challenge Parenthood...

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB/TK

It was three years ago this winter & spring that MTV's The Challenge as we knew it shook things up a bit, as the draft list of prospective competitors expanded exponentially. What began with the addition of four Are You The One? originals to Battle of the Exes 2 and other alumni of love in the Truth Booth coming onto Bloodlines, Rivals III, Invasion of the Champions and Dirty 30 would lead up to just about every reality show participant being eligible to go into battle along Bananas, Cara Maria and others.

This month's launch of Paramount+ serves as the kingpin to the second corporate marriage of Viacom and CBS, but where the roots of their re-merger were planted when The Challenge invited along past houseguests from Big Brother to the show when Natalie Negrotti and Victor Arroyo (who will tie the knot soon enough with Season 18 champ Nicole Franzel) competed on Vendettas. MTV's other entry into romantic reality television bliss, Ex On The Beach, began the road to its American arrival when Joss Mooney, Rogan O'Connor, Melissa Reeves and Kayleigh Morris of the UK version, also suited up in Spain with three of them eventually making a final and the second becoming a champ.

Also on that plane in taking that short hop from the British Isles was a man from Newcastle in the Northwest of England, who was the first from the global Shore franchise to make his way to The Challenge, and represented the bridge of sorts between the return of the Jersey OG's and the arrival of the Floribama newbies to MTV. And it was almost from the get-go that Kyle Christie would get himself comfortable in Challenge Nation when he befriended Cara Maria en route to going to the Vendettas final and eventually becoming the enemy of her man Paulie Califiore on Final Reckoning and both War of the Worlds seasons. And you can't deny that he's made quite an impact on The Challenge: a second finals appearance on Total Madness, a few hookups and plenty of memorable one-liners, among others.

Kyle is still in the running for the $1 million, which translates in British pounds to just over £722,000 as the United Kingdom goes about life outside of the European Union. But you could say that, though he has just those two finals appearances and winning almost £15,000, he is already a winner just past the halfway point of Double Agents. That's because of the following announcement he made on Instagram last week...

DC ExtraTime: Rihanna and Drake Are Challenge Fans?!

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB/TK

On this DCBLOG site, along with the usual weekly episode coverage we have also made it a point to cover just about every link of sorts between the people who star in these MTV Reality shows and the broader world of pop culture as part of our ExtraTime franchise. It's through this that, over the past eight years, we've featured many of the biggest figures of our time from around this complicated world of ours and those who aren't as well known but who still feel you're gonna want to meet.

It was a year ago this week that the world as we knew it changed, and for those of us who wanted sports in our lives we had to revert to not having any of those for a period of time. And it led to The Challenge to take on the mighty task of being that one sport that was going on in the American landscape, and Total Madness no doubt clicked with diehard fanatics, reality viewers & sports-hungry fans during the unprecedented shutdown of athletic activity in stadiums, arenas & other sporting venues in this country.

Among those who have been on The Challenge in the past few years, we have featured so many of these link-ups of pop culture and the fifth major pro sport. There's been NFL and NBA MVP's, the baseball Hall of Famer who's just broken up with his global megastar fiancé, reality stars, musicians and beyond. It represents perhaps proof that this show is getting more of the overdue recognition it deserves after the attention it's had in the past twelve months, and it has even garnered two just as recognizable fans -- just as we tonight got to mark the annual celebration of Music's Biggest Night: the Grammy Awards.

Hey there... it's Sunday and you're likely enjoy the extra hour of sunlight as well as a big Sunday of events with college hoops and some golden statuettes to be handed out for music excellence. But before you get to fill out those March Madness bracket and prepare for the Grammy Awards in just a bit, we have a perfect appetizer to share with you from the northern frontier of the state of Montana.

That is where this spring's fun of MTV's Floribama Shore is taking place, and our group of Southerners are getting themselves acquainted with their new surroundings. And last week, the group found a way to get used to where they are by doing something that they don't do over there in Florida: go to an ice rink... and that was part of a week where they took part in a set of drunken games. We mean, what else is there to do when you can't go to the beach or hang out in the clubs when they're not available during this crazy time we're in (and hope that this pandemic finally subsides).

But as we have been able to witness these first two weeks, it's what's gone down in the past that will somehow pop up: that includes what went down last time out with the bromance breaking apart. And this week - as it was over in St. Pete Beach, it all comes to a head for Gus and Jeremiah when something they're unfamiliar with when it comes to the weather sees them get trapped. The Playboy will also find himself with something else on his plate in allegations that he cheated... and are there wedding bells on offer for that other budding couple in this cabin?

We'll find out just ahead as we bring you the Pulse of Week of Floribama Shore in Montana... plus we'll have a new track from one of their neighbors down in the Key. Thanks for joining us, and settle in...

Hello again everyone, and aren't you glad you have made it through these past three-hundred & sixty-seven days? It's quite a change from where we were on this very second weekend of March last year. But you do not really need to be reminded of that, as we at DCBLOG welcome you to a week Inside MTV Reality that's seen fireworks in Montana that we'll delve into ahead, plus another baby is forthcoming in this family. And after we gave you a mouth-watering appetizer last night of drama in the Rocky Mountains, things continue to rage on in Iceland and The Challenge: Double Agents.

The past two weeks have seen CT & Big T become the agents but then find themselves on opposite ends when he decided to ditch her for Kam after last week's elimination and deservedly earned the wrath of the Brit. We also saw Lolo Jones become the latest to quit this game and leaving Nam on the outside looking in, and before he would even get to compete alongside the Shipwrecked alum his aching back was enough for him to be medically evacuated from the Arctic bubble. And last week also saw a double elimination for the guys where while CT had all the buzz, Darrell won the other battle for a skull.

This week, the agents have an all-night challenge to deal with as they will seek to survive a rough night of facing their worst fears, replete with drink mixes, food and other things that will make them puke a bit like Codi by the 'Shore. With Big T becoming a rogue agent by way of Nam's withdrawal, by default this becomes an elimination week for the women to grab not only the last open skull left in the game, but also some rings... and this may be most appealing to those who may want to change their partners as we get close to the serious business of the springtime and money on the line.

After the break, it's the DCBLOG SocialPulse of Week 13 of The Challenge Double Agents, plus we'll head down to the Southland for another MTV Zoom reunion. Thanks for joining us, and welcome to the weekend... we're glad you've joined us.

Winter --- it's perhaps the most magical of the four seasons when the first dusting of snow begins just as we ring in the Christmas holiday season. But as evidenced by what happened down in Texas recently, it can also be just as excruciating as a sweltering 100° summer heatwave when temperatures fall well below average into the freezing range when things get out of control. But you just can't help but stare in awe of whenever that mixture of ice and rain fall out of the sky, and for a time we all become kids again putting together snowmen, do snow angels and take advantage of the slopes to go skiing and snowboarding.

It is in this backdrop that offers the compelling setting for the biggest season yet of a YouTube show put on by someone who I first discovered here four years ago. There that summer of 2017, he got to meet his favorite member of MTV's The Challenge, Kailah Casillas, and the rest of her Season 30 cast... so did some of those who he collaborated on for his homemade Caucus Challenge series in his Secaucus, New Jersey backyard. And ever since we first featured him then, Andres Rodriguez has continued to bring an increasing local and national fanbase some guilty pleasure television that is created, produced and edited all by himself... and one which has also increased by one show to a Real World-like spinoff.

And while we were all getting snowed during this winter of 2021 as well as what we hope will be the last weeks & months of this seemingly endless but now almost about to end COVID lockdown, over the holidays Dre decided to go big once again during the midst of this pandemic. This time, he invited along some of his friends and asked a bunch of newbies to join him for the biggest season yet of his more chill but equally as dramatic sister series of Caucus. And if the first four seasons of it brought its fair share of drama and fun in New York State and Miami, then The Life We Live has no doubt saved its juiciest stuff for the group's first-ever trip outside of the Eastern Time Zone and into the Rocky Mountains.

DC ExtraTime Funny File: A Millionaire Goes Hiding in the TP Section...

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB/TK

This week will mark a grim milestone that marked the end of the old normal when one earth-shattering announcement changed everything about our world. Because we here at DCBLOG value the four words of us being "The Escape You Deserve," you really don't need to be reminded of what happened on that day in March exactly one year ago. But one of those things to come out of that event was of how so many of you probably had to buy more of than the usual amount of a popular item that is in just about every bathroom, kitchen and bedroom in your house: tissues, paper towels and toilet paper as the word "hoarding" became part of the vocabulary for everyone who goes to the supermarket.

Back in 2019 in our sub-series of Someone You Should Know vignettes of those who the MTV Reality fam get to cross paths with, we shone the spotlight on three YouTube pranksters: Isaiah "Steezy Kane" Shepard, Dylan Polley and Rohan Kohli. In the case of the ladder, he has filmed several videos on both his own channel and with his friends Nicky & Ricky Ireland at Ireland Boys Productions where he and them have spent many overnights trapped inside Walmart stores, a trampoline park and the world's largest McDonald's restaurant outside of Disney World. And if you think that trying to spend a whole day at a theme park or on the Vegas strip as I have many times, then pale that in comparison to having to 12 to 24 hours being inside a well-known corporate establishment or a fun place like those.

The one who got to meet Rohan, Steezy and Dylan when they filmed hilarious videos together when they were in Austin, TX back in 2019 was Cody Dunlap, who we famously saw lay a load on the local water supply on the lone season of MTV's entry into survivalist reality competition shows, Stranded with a Million Dollars. And if you are a fan of Discovery Channel's Naked and Afraid, you probably are familiar with his castmate Makani Nalu, who has been on two seasons of that revealing show since she was part of the final foursome that emerged out of Fiji with $125,000.

Since that lone MTV appearance that spring of 2017, Cody has become a popular figure on TikTok in offering advice on how to make money through door-to-door sales, how to bet on sports as it has become a hot commodity in the past few years, and collecting shoes and Pokemon cards. And he also happens to share something in common with the YouTube prankster trio: he, too, also got to do his own overnight challenge... and he accomplished that feat before he made it onto national television.

Back in fall 2016 -- just as he was adjusting to being back at home after that month's long sojourn to the South Pacific for Stranded, Cody and his younger brother Kaleb went on a hop to a local Walmart store... but not necessarily to pick up those essential goods. The older and younger Dunlap brothers had become fascinated with the popular YouTube trend that was popularized by Rohan and the Ireland Boys in creating and building forts consisting of toilet paper, and decided to spend some time building those while spending some time being embedding themselves beneath the sections that hold that TP and other necessary things that we all need for our daily lives.

And below, the Millionaire and his Brother decide to go hiding in the toilet paper section... and maybe after you watch, could we have found the ideal at-home activity for the family to enjoy in what we hope are the last days and months of this lockdown? This might be it...

And welcome back... we have just witnessed a stellar night of NBA All-Star action, a high-profile interview by Oprah Winfrey with the Royal Couple, and Awards Season continuing with the Critics' Choice Awards. And to wrap up this packed Sunday, we at DCBLOG have some dessert: some fun in the mountains with the Floribama Shore bam - for which one of them once got to hang out with a member of Migos courtside in Atlanta.

Last week, we began this year's dose of fun as only these crazies know how as Aimee, Codi, Gus, Nilsa, Kirk, Candace and Jeremiah moving from Florida -- where the first three seasons of this show have gone down -- to Western America and to Montana. But as they settled into their new digs of a cabin in the middle of nowhere, the drama also came with them as well, as revelations of Jeri getting singled out at the VMA's was brought out into the open. But Nilsa then spilled the biggest bombshell of all: she revealed what we have known for some time that she is expecting her first baby.

When they've been in Florida, the Bam have enjoyed ample amounts of time on the beach, in the clubs, in the streets and even to Mardi Gras and Mexico. This week, they add more to that resume of fun that they've chalked up over this time, as they will do something that they've never gotten to do before: go ice skating, as well as compete in a set of drunken games. But it's not all fun: the former bromance open up about what happened the last time they were together, and there is more unresolved stuff to open up with... and it's safe to say that what happens in Florida will not stay there.

We'll see you after the break for the 'Pulse of Week 2 of MontanaBama Shore... and thanks for wrapping your weekend with us...

And we welcome you back Inside MTV Reality @ DCBLOG... earlier on this Saturday, we brought you Week 11 of The Challenge Double Agents as the second half of this season began in Iceland. There, CT & Big T gained power team status by way of the ladder killing it in a challenge that saw them jump off a helicopter and into the water. This comes despite the 3-time champion harboring concerns that he may not have as many chances to gain a skull, something that is on the minds of everyone as they enter the elimination crater... and already one has bolted away: Nam's partner Lolo Jones.

As we return to the Arctic - and knowing that what has happened with the Olympian quitting, TJ Lavin has just unleashed another one of those Teej-bombs: another security breach... and the ramifications of that twist will no doubt shake the house to its core. There is, though, an elimination to be taken care of as an elimination game returns for its second trip to Iceland... and it's what happens afterwards that will further send chills down the spine of one of the players. And what happened at last week's challenge force Lolo's partner to be on the way out?

Once again, we have all the action, reaction and interaction ahead from The Challenge Double Agents and Week 12 in Iceland. But after the break, we begin with the big show of the week: the return of The Real World and the true OG's of MTV Reality gathering again in SoHo in Manhattan. Thanks for staying up with us tonight, and settle in...

Over the almost three decade history of MTV Reality television, one of its most popular, influential and beloved figures has been Chris Tamburello, or C.T. for short. We first saw the Bostonian on The Real World Paris back in 2003, and instantly made his mark in the City of Lights with his accent and his feistiness, along with that hair. But that stay in France would only be a harbinger of what the next eighteen years would be when he went onto The Challenge.

In what is now eighteen regular Challenge appearances along with all three legs of the Champs vs. Stars spinoff, CT has been at the heart of some of the show's most memorable moments: a vicious fight he had with Paris roommate Adam King on The Duel II, being a backpack to Johnny Bananas on Cutthroat, and him being humbled when he won the first of his three titles when he took Rivals II in 2013, followed by Invasion of the Champions and War of the Worlds II in the ladder half of the decade, and all in the nation of Thailand. He even had his own wedding be featured as part of the series as well, which introduced us to his now divorced wife and his first kid.

But it is CT's relationship with Diem Brown that is no doubt the most significant part of his MTV journey, as that love affair fascinated so many fans from when they first met on The Duel in 2006, then rekindled things on the first Battle of the Exes. And we all had tears in our eyes when he went back home with her when she became ill on the second Exes Challenge... and was at her bedside when she passed away after her third battle against ovarian cancer in the autumn on 2014.

As he is now at the rightful age of 40 competing on yet another Challenge in Double Agents, CT has no doubt had quite a life over the past four decades - and that even includes a co-starring role in horror movie Habitual alongside lifelong friend Johnny Hickey. But something that is largely forgotten in his backstory is one that took place during the middle part of his MTV career: an traumatic event that, in part, is why he didn't compete on The Challenge in between that fight in New Zealand and him emerging from the background to take on Johnny Bananas as a mercenary on the Czech Republic.

The story of what happened over a decade ago is perhaps as heart-wrenching as you can possibly get: someone he grew up and considered so close getting his life taken away too soon. And it would only be a decade after the fact that his family finally earned the justice they so wanted.

  DELAYED EDITION

We welcome you to the first weekend of March, and if you are one of those who just so happens to be browsing us for the first time as everyone has been having TV's most-talked about reality shows on their mind thanks to the launch of Paramount+ on Thursday, then strap in for a busy spring ahead. And on the main MTV channel itself, the main course is now into its back end as we at DCBLOG are about to bring you the Pulse of The Challenge: Double Agents and a special doubleheader.

The first half of this season has seen a lot: some hit or miss action on the field, the lineups changing quite a bit thanks to drama in and outside the bubble, and of course plenty of twists unleashed by TJ Lavin. And the last time we were in Iceland, totem poles were at the heart of the week 10 daily game, Fessy finding himself back in the spotlight in becoming attracted to a rookie alliance member than what defined the first half of his game. And at night's end, Gabby would make a big miscue when, in power, she opted to save her alliance and formed a vendetta in the process.

As the number of players dwindle, there's some tension brewing among a few in the bubble as a new world champion is drifting further apart from her partner, while the 3-time champ grows concern that he may not get as many chances to gain a skull. But a challenge in the water may identify who may have the edge to start this drive towards the business end of this game, and who may find themselves possibly looking at a trip into the elimination chamber. And if that isn't crazy, something else is: the host decides to throw a bone at everyone right inside the Crater.

All the action, reaction and interaction of Week 11 of Double Agents is ahead -- and this week it's coming to you on a one-week behind as we'll explain after we get done with all this. But first after the break, the big news that gave everyone reason to want to fork over a few dollars for "A Mountain of Entertainment" and Real World alumni take over the last full week of February. Thanks for joining us, and welcome to the weekend and to March...
