Winter is now over, as far as those who measure the seasons of ecology have it... although the snow that fell in the Midwest this weekend might say otherwise. And as far as those who are working at Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club is concerned, they are heading towards the end of an eventful summer working for the queen of the Mean Girls in Mykonos, Greece, as she and business partner Panos went about making her new resort on the Mediterranean the place to be in one of Europe's premier summer destinations.

During this summer, the dozen VIP hosts -- Alex, Aristotle, Billy, Brent, Gabi, Jonitta, Jules, Kyle, May, Mike, Sara, and Challenge & Real World vet Kailah -- have all found themselves having to mix being in paradise with having the toughest work assignment ever. Some of them flew in as latecomers to the party, others were sent home for not giving 110% to their work, relationships were formed, and plenty of drama in between. And they've met familiar faces in AYTO host Terrence J. and Lindsay's ex Nico Tortorella, have dealt with questionable behavior from the resident Vegas party expert, and create the summer's most iconic & viral dance move in #DoTheLilo.

Last time out, the hosts welcomed Sophie and Nathan of Geordie Shore - the show that gave America new Challenge star Kyle, but what Mike did in pulling off his pants in public that found him in hot water with the bosses... and this week he will learn his fate. It will also be the case for the rest of the house as they will also learn by the end of their last few days in Greece of which VIP's will stay with her & Panos for a second summer overseas. But no summer in any MTV Reality show can end without one last piece of big drama, and in this case an attempt for one to make piece with the other hosts leads to fireworks with one of the VIP's.

After the jump, the Pulse of the season finale of Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club, as we bring the month of March to a close.

DC ExtraTime: Lending A Helping Hand in Panama City

BY DC CUEVA

This past week saw the end of a stellar 9-month run on MTV for Gus Smyrnios of Floribama Shore, when he and Jenna Compono succumbed in elimination to Bear and Da'Vonne on The Challenge: War of the Worlds. It all began when Gus moved in for his second summer in Panama City Beach, Florida with the rest of his Floribama castmates and got to live it up again on a show described by many as realer and more relatable than the show that preceded it in the global MTV Shore franchise, Jersey Shore.
It wasn't that long ago that Gus made his MTV debut as that ladies man from the same hometown and common roots as Are You The One alum turned Challenge champ Hunter Barfield -- Perry, FL -- and made a name for himself on the same channel as a guy whose fiery personality infamously cost him a share of $1 million on Final Reckoning last year. Gus is one who the ladies love for being a true Southern gentleman and who has graced many a book cover, but one who never shies away from showing his emotions especially when it comes to the icy relationship he has with his family.

While PCB has seen a renaissance in national interest thanks to the two seasons of Floribama Shore being filmed in a past host city of MTV's annual Spring Break festivities - and as many college students are spending their week's escape from the grind of the school year there this weekend, the town has also made news for a much different reason in the past year. No, it's not the initial negativity locals feared would bring to their town when it premiered two years ago, but something that those who live in this part of the country brace themselves for once Memorial Day comes around: the Atlantic hurricane season.
And it's one that took place this past year -- and one that deeply affected so many people in a region of almost 180,000 people -- that gave reason for Gus and his cast to return to town earlier this month during Spring Break to lend a helping hand to their adopted hometown.

Hey there, it's the last day of March and a Sunday Funday... and we at DCBLOG have a treat for you here: three posts from the world of MTV Reality, including a drama-filled finale from that paradise in the Mediterranean known as the Lohan Beach Club. But first, we are right at the halfway point of the season of a show that, thanks to its move to Hump Day (and though it's not our thing to mention anything related to the numbers game of TV viewership), has those who air at the midway point of the weekly primetime TV schedule, 9PM on Wednesday nights, wondering where the viewers have gone. They're enjoying that thing on MTV known as The Challenge: War of the Worlds.

Last week, the competitors tackled their first challenge involving anything related to their fear of heights while being blindfolded hundreds of feet above in a game of trust. At the same time, those who came from the U.S. began to realize that the British have been dominating this game and will continue to align themselves to each other as long as this goes on. And an uphill survival test in elimination went down to mere inches: a last-second mistake by Josh and Amanda cost them a chance to give Kam her earliest Challenge exit, and Killa Kam and Ashley C. turned that miscue into her seventh win in a regular elimination tilt.

As we return to Namibia, for our overseas friends the competitor with the biggest notoriety coming into his American debut will find himself again in the midst of the drama going on here that, thanks to a call, will put Mr. Bear in a precarious spot. For the season's first water-based challenge, a person who comes from the world's only continent surrounded entirely by water will have to conquer a phobia of competing in the water if they want to retain top team status. And more drama is abound for the man whose behavior last season cost him his share of $1 million, while whoever gets picked to go to elimination will have to tackle a classic game of pole wrestle to make it to the halfway mark.

All that and more is ahead on the Pulse of Week 8 of The Challenge: War of the Worlds. Welcome on in... it's nice to have you with us.

BACKTRACKED EDITION

It is now the final weekend of March 2019, and we're well into springtime - and for many of you out there, it's Spring Break. And for a season that a night before the winter solstice - the shortest day of the year, we are at the end of Season 2 of Ex On The Beach U.S., which saw an all-star cast of ten reality castaways arrive in Malibu and endure more drama that they can handle than the scorching Southern California sun.

Previously on Episode 13, the group welcomed the season's last ex, Tor'i from Season 1, with nothing but an icy reception after Angela's massive tirade on him at the beach. But that's not all that the house had to put up with: two more trips to the Shack of Secrets awaited the house including, yes, Angela & Tor'i when her phone was browsed through by him in a reversal of what happened in the very first SOS. And Nurys saw Nelson once again in the shack, and preceded to send home Chad's ex Maddie, one of two eliminations that night which also saw Perez get the boot as well.

For last year's final act, we saw Chase reject Victoria and Angela & Tor'i become official - only of course for what went down after they left the house. For what goes down this time around for the Season 2 EOTB finale, the three girls who were sent home either for bad behavior or the midseason exes vote return to find out if they are truly over their ex. Along with the last Crush ceremony and seeing which couples may leave the house with crush necklaces in hand, the house is not quite out of the woods just yet, as the truth will reveal itself through a lie detector test to see if their relationship are as honest and truthful as they can be.

After the jump, find out who is being upfront, who is not and who is together as DCBLOG brings you a backtracked installment of the 'Pulse of the Finale of Season 2 of Ex On The Beach U.S., plus Kam,  Derrick H. and Nicole Z. continue their quest for love on Game of Clones, more reaction to Week 7 of War of the Worlds, and Spring Break in Cancun. And welcome to the weekend, everyone...

This is Spring Break Week in the land of MTV world, as this week sees a finale, a reunion and fireworks aplenty in the channel's reality programming. But amidst the sun & fun, let us a DCBLOG bring you the 'Pulse of the most recent episode of The Challenge: War of the Worlds...

When we were last in Africa, the competitors channeled their own Mad Max hanging on a wire of moving tires in the desert, and where the vets again reaffirmed their flag in the ground. We also had an opportunity to find out more about Kam and Leroy's relationship as she began to lay her eyes on Love Islander Theo, especially after the Vegas barber man may have seen his last Challenge chance slip by. And the man who hasn't had the opportunity to stake his claim to the title of the master manipulator to a bunch of newbies had the opportunity to destroy the British alliance.

And after what we saw with Da'Vonne and Bear winning in elimination, in Week 7 the attention turns for Team USA towards Team GB and the alliance the British have which they fear is getting too strong. It all comes as the fears the competitors have each season of being hundreds of feet above ground takes place as those scaries are being put to the test as the team are being blindfolded. And while one player reveals an attraction to their teammate, by night's end we'll be nearing the halfway point once the combatants in elimination face an uphill battle for survival.

After the jump, the Pulse of last week's episode of The Challenge: War of the Worlds before an all new episode airs in a few hours' time.

Hey there... the weekend is coming to an end, and so is the summer for the VIP's who are calling Mykonos, Greece home at Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club. Their stay in LiLo's eclectic setting of an escape from reality has seen so much go down, but the sun will soon set on their amazing and often times stressful experience, as the season finale and one last wave is ahead of them. First things first though: the 'Pulse of Episode 11 from the Club.

Week 10 saw the group whisked off to sea for a day's excursion at sea on a fabulous yacht on the Greek sea... but the drama that has affected the group all season long didn't exactly stay at the villa where the house's stance of being against Brent once again put a damper on things. And the Vegas club promoter himself also had to endure having to see the one who he get away, Sara, find herself in the arms of one Billy as she began to explore romantic possibilities with the gentle giant.

Those of us who've been watching the global expansion of The Challenge, and those who are into MTV's most visible franchise, know about Geordie Shore, where Kyle has become a key figure the past year and where fellow Newcastle native Zahida had a hand in knocking off Johnny Bananas on War of the Worlds. This week sees two of those they lived with on several series of Jersey Shore's British equivalent, Sophie Kasaei and Nathan Henry, be the latest big names to drop by, and the hosts will pull out all the stops to please our friends from Tyneside. But when one of the VIP's decides to take their dedication to another level, they'll have to face some unexpected consequences, as does another in his quest to score Sara's heart.

After the jump, Geordie Shore invades Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club... thanks for joining us here.

DC ExtraTime: The Lohan Beach Club and Marvel Cinematic Universe Unite

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

Brie Larson as Captain Marvel
Many years ago, the most iconic animated TV series of our time, The Simpsons, envisioned a world where 20th Century Fox would once become owned by The Walt Disney Company when it combined the searchlight logo of the former with a tagline of the ladder in one now memorable screencap. That pipe dream became a reality this week when Mickey Mouse's ambition of taking over one of his studios' rivals was realized when Disney completed the company's $71 billion takeover of much of 21st Century Fox, including its movie studio, TV production arm and other assets... creating a powerful media super conglomerate.
This news came at the most opportune time for those who follow the movies just ahead of the summer blockbuster season that kicks off in over a month from now. The now combined Disney/Fox operation -- which turned Hollywood's major film studios into the Big Five -- now distributes films not only from their two main film studio units, but also the iconic family animated films by Disney Animation and Pixar - including Toy Story, the Star Wars franchise, and titles from Marvel Studios. All of these assets will provide the ammunition for Disney to take on Netflix for world domination in the streaming sphere, which includes the top-grossing film of this spring.
When the Disney/21st Century Fox merger became official late Tuesday night, those who avidly follow Marvel Comic movies began to discuss the seemingly inevitable prospects of all of their favorite characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe being under one roof, with crossovers now all but certain. Think of that as the fantasies coming true for everyone connected to this world the same way Challenge fans imagine having all of their favorite Challengers competing in one mega-season. The Universe is miles ahead of all other movie franchises in having grossed over $17.5 billion at the box office, part of a $28 billion business when merchandise sales and other related things are factored in.

Earlier this month saw the release of the 21st film in an MCU saga that dates back to Iron Man over a decade ago, and last year produced the year's two biggest films as measured by the cash flowing in at the box office: Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther. The new film is Captain Marvel, which strategically dropped on International Women's Day, March 8th, and is the first of its kind in the Marvel franchise where a woman is playing its lead role: Oscar-winning actress Brie Larson playing superhero Carol Danvers, a comic book character who bears the movie's title. Anna Boden and filmmaking partner Ryan Fleck co-wrote & directed a movie set in 1995, which sees Carol become Captain Marvel when the world finds itself in between two alien worlds in conflict.
Clark Gregg playing
Agent Coulson
Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, Ben Bendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Annette Bening and Gemma Chan join Bree on the cast, as is someone whose lineage in the MCU goes all the way back to the beginning. Agent Philip Coulson appeared in Iron Man eleven years ago, along with its 2010 sequel, Thor and The Avengers, and is the lead character on ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Coulson serves as a high-ranking member of the espionage agency, and has been featured in comics, a digital series and other media. Captain Marvel sees the Agent back when he was a rookie on the police force... and the role itself -- the longest lineage of anyone who's appeared in the MCU --  is portrayed by Clark Gregg, who's also done voice work for Marvel's animated series, and pre-Marvel appeared on The West Wing, Will & Grace and The New Adventures of Old Christine.
It would seem a strange segueway from a spring blockbuster movie that‘s garnered over $800 million at the global box office to an MTV Reality series, but there is one link... thanks in part to the kind of link-up that can only happen when you live down in the land of the stars: Hollywood.

Hey there folks, we're almost at the end of an eventful Season 2 of Ex On The Beach 2, the American iteration of MTV's global "relationship s+++ show." And quite a season it has been as we inch closer to the finale, which airs tonight.

If what has transpired in the course of the past three months has been something, then we were obviously not ready for what went down in Week 12. First, Nicole did what those of you who watch The Challenge know as a Camila: hitting a crew member off-camera and getting kicked out of the house after Maddie made fun of her at a cast roast. And we saw bromance/cuddle partners Corey and Jozea have a falling out of sorts. But those were minor occurrences compared to Angela having to endure the season's biggest ex arrival in Season 1 original Tor'i, sparking her biggest meltdown yet.

With the man who now gets to slam dunk his way through the traffic with basketball's most iconic franchise now in the house, Episode 13 sees the house have to go through not one, but two trips into the Shack of Secrets. First, something that occurred on the very first episode of this series comes back to haunt an original when she gets to see the other side of what she got to do with her Season 1 Ex a year ago. Then, one half of the love triangle that came into this house gets to determine if she will give another chance to her Ex... and the Exes themselves face one final Cut or Crush elimination.

All the action, reaction and interaction from the penultimate episode of EOTB USA 2 is ahead... plus, we'll join Season 1 Ex and dual Challenge/AYTO alum Derrick H. and his Season 5 castmate Kam, along with Challenger Nicole Z., for an all-Challenge episode of Game of Clones... guess which celeb lookalikes they will get to spend some quality time with. And afterwards, we'll have a first look at the show will that take over Thursdays next month, A Double Shot at Love with DJ Pauly D. and Vinny, and featuring a familiar AYTO face... All that and reaction to last week's Challenge episode is ahead before tonight's season finale.

DC ExtraTime: From Being Stranded to Being Naked and Afraid

DISCLAIMER: Certain Content Embedded in This Post May Not Be Suitable for a Younger Audience. Viewer Discretion is Advised.

In early 2017 before everyone began taking notice of the channel once again, MTV experimented with entering something that Turbo of War of the Worlds and Jay of Ex On The Beach 2 are familiar with: survivalist reality competition shows. Their experience on Survivor inspired many of these shows in that genre, including MTV's Stranded with A Million Dollars: ten strangers being marooned on a remote island with a treasure chest of seven figures, and having to decide whether to tough it out over 40 days, or spend a fortune on things we'd get for cheap at the local Walmart. The show might've lasted one season like most other MTV shows nowadays, but Stranded has lived on overseas having been franchised in Europe and other countries.

But those two shows are fairly different compared to the most unique show of its kind in this reality subgenre. Since summer 2013, The Discovery Channel has taken the concept of people having to fend for themselves in the wild to a totally different level that only cable television can be the venue for such endeavors in our living rooms. Naked and Afraid follows a pair of survivalists - a man and woman - who meet each other for the first time when they arrive and like other endurance fests have to find and produce water, food, shelter and everything else in a rugged part of the world. But as the show's title suggests, they have to do those and survive the wild while being naked for 21 days.
For those who haven't watched it, those who come on Naked and Afraid meet each other only after they have stripped down all of their clothes to the point where their bodies are blurred, and are allowed one useful item on their 3-week trip into the wild, which is featured in one single episode. Like what we saw on Stranded, castaways are allowed to quit at any time, but as it was in that lone season finale a helicopter will await them at an evacuation point if they last the distance. And last summer, a familiar face to MTV fans came to try her luck in Teen Mom OG's Maci Bookout, who quit after only one day in Nicaragua after being chosen in a fan contest. Now, the girl who has a few connections to each of the three main shows we cover here has some company in taking her talents from MTV to Discovery for one night only.

The attention of Stranded centered on the bitter rivalry of Army paratrooper (and now eBay and sports betting expert) Cody Dunlap and local TV news reporter Alex Apple and their respective alliances. One of those who sided with the Texas native was New England native turned Malibu yoga instructor Makani Nalu, whose first name means "the wind" in Hawaiian. Her MTV bio described her as "a free spirit who goes where the wind takes her," and who was excited about going to the island to utilize her survival skills as well as being a vegan.
Those who watched Stranded saw Makani align with Cody from when they and the rest of the islanders were choppered in to spend those 40 days in total isolation. When the rest of their fellow residents quit, they, Alex and his fellow partner Gina were left in the end... and while it's what happened with Cody spoiling the fresh water and Alex burning a stash of cash in a bonfire, lost in the chaos was how Cody and Makani dominated the handful of challenges that came their way, as well as being fiscally conservative compared to their counterparts. The last four shared in the $500,000+ final payday once they survived all 40 days of that trip out to sea.
Last night, Makani returned to TV when she was part of the series' first-ever threesome that came to the Amazon rainforest deep in the wild of Ecuador for this week's episode of Naked and Afraid, which once again departed from its usual format of having only two cast members per episode to now have an additional survivalist. Makani joined two other partners, taxi driver Sarah and Air Force veteran David as they tried their luck at going three weeks in the wild in having to survive not only the animals that call the rainforest home, but also tension and jealousy with three people instead of two being in the same camp.

When she announced her participation in the series, Makani wrote on Instagram: "I don't have a television, but I suppose people are beginning to tell me they see me there again. When I disappeared last summer for a while, it was to film another survival show. I am more proud of this one. It was real in every sense of the word. There was no opportunity as there was in Stranded or as there is in Survivor to 'win' rewards or food to merit your way out of a true survival experience. For this reason, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to film with @discovery network on the 10th season of their show which pushes all boundaries, @nakedandafraidtv . See you on March 17th, 2019. ♥️🌿"
And Makani further added on IG before last night's episode, "Although this challenge was shorter, it was more real & powerful to me in every sense of those words. I’m interested to see on Sunday how much I have grown from one to the other...the nature of the challenges themselves were worlds apart in the best of ways. I can say no matter how the edit goes, I am proud of me♥️🌿"  And after the episode aired, Cody tweeted @CodyThrive, "Congrats to @makanime on completing her 21 day challenge. I’m ready to see how she does on a season of N&A XL. She’s done 40 days and she’s done 21 days naked. Now she’s gotta do 40 days naked! #NakedAndAfraid #MTVstranded #MakaniOnChallenge @NakedAndAfraid"

Welcome back... hope you had an awesome St. Patrick's Day. Now, as we wind down this year's festival of green, Irish love and plenty of day & night drinking -- as well as college hoops and golf mixed in, there have been plenty of English accents on order in the past year on The Challenge, and War of the Worlds is no exception with several more of them dominating the first month.

Last week in Namibia saw one of those from the British isles take over the spotlight: Bear was reportedly paid in the six figures to take his talents to America, but if what happened in the demanding "Tired Out" challenge was an indication in joining TJ Lavin's dreaded quit list and him igniting the tribunal, undoubtedly he may be in for a long ride in conquering America. We also saw the Paulie & Kyle feud add another chapter to its book, while Wes returned to the winners' circle of a regular elimination in his 14th win there, 19th overall factoring in Champs/Stars.

For this week, the week's challenge sees the competitors channel their own Mad Max as they try to hang on for dear life climbing tires on a moving monster truck in the desert for "Doom Buggy." Meanwhile, a girl will have the opportunity to finally address a relationship we haven't heard much about until now with a 10-time Challenge veteran, all as she eyes someone new in the house, and before she goes for love again on a third MTV series which we'll delve into later. And the Master Manipulator tries his hand at destroying an alliance and also potentially breaking up a couple.

After the jump, Week 6 of War of the Worlds. Thanks for staying with us...

Hey there... Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of you out there. And we have a doubleheader of the DCBLOG SocialPulse of MTV Reality to share with you to mark the luckiest holiday we'll have all year, starting here with our tenth week at Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club.

Last time out in Mykonos, Lindsay's ex-fiance and co-host of How Far is Tattoo Far, Nico Tortorella, took a break from assisting Snooki and the ink crew to fly out to Europe to spend some quality time with the boss lady. And while he was the latest big name to roam through the club, Nico was recruited by Lindsay to hopefully alleviate the discord among the VIP's that has existed over the summer, including a sitdown below a full moon. But the hosts used that campfire to take the chance to air out their dirty laundry, including taking shots at Brent.

No doubt, the man who, as we speak right now is working the pools for a packed Vegas weekend for not just St. Paddy's Day but also Spring Break and college basketball in town, has been the root of all the problems in the VIP villa. And this week, Lindsay will take the house for a day's excursion out to sea in a luxurious yacht, but there are some unintended consequences that goes with the latest try to bring the house together despite Kailah's exit. Meanwhile, there's another twist to the house romance when Sara begins to explore other romantic options among the other guys.

After the jump, the Pulse of Episode 10 of Lohan Beach Club as A Yacht Day Goes Bad. Thanks for joining us...

Hey there, it's a Thursday and it's #ExDay... better known to those of you who watch the "Ultimate Relation++++ Show" known as Ex On The Beach. And for something as good as a good thing, very soon all good things will come to an end as we're nearing the end of Season 2 in Malibu.

Previously in SoCal, Maya had to face the music again in seeing someone from her past emerge out of the clouds and into the Shack of Secrets in her ex Perez, who no doubt was losing his mind there. But all focus was on The Challenge's representative in the EOTB house: Nicole saw her man Chad go on a date with her ex -- including a Nurys and Didi watching like Russian spies from afar, and then get woken up when Maddie's joke on her went so bad it sparked more fireworks.

The end of Episode 10 saw Nicole do a Camila -- which if you haven't been keeping up with The Challenge means going off on production off-camera and not on Twitter. And as we return to the house for Week 12, as it was with Janelle earlier on it's the consequences of her actions that may lead her out of town and leaving Chad with a broken heart. A spat in the house may also spell the end to this season's strongest bromance, just as it did with Turbo and JP out in Africa. But all eyes are on our returning star: what happens when the worst nightmare of our Bad Girl comes true on the beach?

Find out which familiar face pops up onshore as we'll have all the action, reaction and interaction of last week's episode ahead for you to check out and to catch up before tonight's drama goes down. But after the jump, we begin the 'Pulse of Ex On The Beach with the one thing that had everyone talking in MTV land last week, and more aftermath from episode 5 of War of the Worlds. Dive in...

DC SocialPulse: The Challenge: War of the Worlds - "The Greatest Showman"

Well hey there kids, hope you all are hanging in there with the first few days of Daylight Savings Time. And after a jaw-dropping first month that saw past champions get eliminated early like what we'll be having soon enough with March Madness, The Challenge: War of the Worlds has proven that anything can happen... and last week was no exception.

There in Namibia, a favorite challenge of every season saw players wipe out and take tragic slams while also battling heights hundreds of feet above ground... it was no surprise that this was a mission that saw this season's Ninja treat this death-defying task as her own playground. Meanwhile the Kyle and Paulie rivalry rolled along, while a double elimination shocked everyone in the battle to stay in the game, and in the case of the vets, trying to keep a sinking boat of experienced doyens afloat. But it was Kyle & Mattie that sent home CT & Julia and Natalie & JP in the end.

To become a Challenge champion, two things are necessary if you make it all the way to the final: stamina and endurance. That's what's on tap for Week 5, as the war is on not just among teams, but even allies for the "Tired Out" challenge... and if there's a reel of what you can't do in front of TJ Lavin, someone will join the list of those who quit and will feel his heat. There's also tension brewing inside the Tribunal courtroom where, THAT man will add to his list of memorable reality moments that we in America haven't seen. And the week's elimination will see teams battle in the dark.

After the jump, the SocialPulse of last week's episode of War of the Worlds before this week's drama goes down tonight... plus, a little note from yours truly on something coming soon. Dig in...

Hey there, hope you're getting through this first day of spring as measured by daylight savings time. This MTV Reality week, we have a grueling mini-final Challenge, as well as another familiar face popping up on Ex On The Beach. But we begin with a new reality at Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club.

When we were last in Greece, we had the most eventful week yet: a surprise show-up at the VIP villa by her and Panos saw Lindsay in a bit of disgust for how her pupils have been handling their summer off the resort property. With that in mind, she decided to say that's all to Kailah as our Challenge friend was the second VIP to get the boot. But on a brighter note, the Club hosted Pride Day for the LGBT crowd, which saw Mike and Gabi take to the dance floor as did the boss lady... thus, the #DoTheLilo dance move was unleashed to everyone around the planet.

Last year, America was introduced to an MTV-originated global phenomenon that, around his busy reality slate, Bear made room for when he hosted Series 1 of Just Tattoo of Us, which was made into How Far is Tattoo Far on the U.S. This week, Snooki's sidekick in the parlor of ink, Nico Tortorella, joins his former fiance, Lindsay, as the latest big-name client, and recruited by her in hopes to alleviate VIP discord. But under the moonlight in a full moon sitdown, when there's a lot going on the hosts not everything will stay in the villa.

After the jump, Episode 9 from Mykonos... thanks for joining us.

DC ExtraTime: Someone You Should Know - Siesta Key's Jared

BY DC CUEVA
 @DC408DXTR  @ IG/YT/SC/TB

Right about now, it's that time of year again where hundreds of thousands of college students will be thinking about that week in the coming weeks where they can just run out of school and just be free for a change. Spring Break is approaching for the many of you millennials who check out this website to escape reality for our view of MTV Reality - in fact for some of you, it's just begun down in South Padre Island, TX as Challenge vet "Big Easy" Eric and Real World alum (and Catfish guest star) Jay G. again handling partying duties. And this year MTV itself is bringing back its sacred March tradition with Cancun hosting the return of MTV Spring Break weekend this month.
Along with those two towns, Florida has long been a destination for college students to party down, whether it's in Daytona Beach, Miami or anywhere else on the state's many beaches. Florida has become an MTV hotbed in the course of the past two years, with a longtime Spring Break town of Panama City Beach having just hosted its second season of Floribama Shore, and down the way in a suburb of Sarasota which has been host to an addictive MTV guilty pleasure.

Season 2 of Siesta Key has no doubt seen the level of drama amp up a bit in the sun, and where the modern-day Laguna Beach has certainly offered plenty of high stakes among its elite clique. During the course of its sophomore season, we've had more awkwardness at the annual over-the-top gala of the Kompo house becoming an Egyptian mecca (which this site featured here last year), a music video causing two relationships to be in dire jeopardy, and this past week seeing Pauly get arrested again for a marijuana charge which could spell trouble ahead.
And while the other main characters have had their time in the spotlight, as always the main storyline has been the seemingly perfect but now not-so-perfect relationship of the royal couple of  Juliette & Alex. And it has unraveled just as much as the Paulie-Cara-Danielle triangle, spurred on by the town's resident authority on eliteist gossip and who loves to stir the pot more times than you can say the show's name three times fast, Chloe, and a BFF friendship she's forged with one of Alex's many exes, Cara Geswelli. What's transpired with him and the rest of the cast in the past month has no doubt changed the complexity of the clique, and there may be more too if the midseason trailer is an indication.

Along with Cara in making a return to the town where they grew up, the other newcomer to the cast is Jared Kelderman, who came back to the Key just off of a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy, where he was a crewman and a drone operator out in California. Before serving in the military, Jared went to high school with most of the Siesta cast and dated Alex's high school sweetheart, Madisson, which helped to spur a vendetta in a local businessman's playboy son who's now the reason for unrest in the Siesta crew (if you saw Alex arguing with one-time friend Chloe this week, you have the gist of it).
Just as it was when the series began in summer 2017, Season 2 began with Alex's birthday party in his house's backyard, which coincidentally has the feel of a weekend rager at Spring Break, and where Rich Homie Quan got to perform. But while everyone else gathered to kick off another Siesta summer, both Jared and Cara came uninvited to the party, with her tagging along with Chloe, and him coming for the ride along with Brandon and Garrett. And it was when he got next to the birthday boy and Pauly that ignited a massive brawl, along the lines of what we've seen a lot of in PCB.
And the week after the first of many big blowups in Siesta, and at Brandon's 70's-themed outdoor birthday barbecue, Jared decided to stir the pot a little when he convinced Madisson's best friend, Kelsey, to have some alone time despite her having a boyfriend. They snuck off from a night at the disco for some nighttime fun by the beach, and they even got flirty too in them hooking up. This led a girl he got to go fishing with this past week, Canvas, to call him "the talk of the Key," all as he took the news of that hookup in stride with a smile, all as he initiated a love square of sorts among the OG's and newbies in Kelsey's ex Garrett getting close to Cara.

But this week, viewers got to see a different side of Jared, and one that those who known him all his life know who he really is behind that cheery exterior adorn with many tattoos. As someone who decided to take up one of the toughest jobs anywhere going into harm's way regularly defending our country away from home and from family and friends, he knew what he was getting into. And there, he got to experience all the stress that comes with being in the military, and the life after coming home which is just as tough as the time away overseas & in domestic installations.
Ask anyone who has served in the Army, Navy, Air Force and the Marines -- which includes Ryan Conklin from Real World Brooklyn of ten years ago, and they'll likely tell you that there is more to their job than just serving a duty as hard as anything on earth, most especially when veterans who return home suffer from post traumatic stress syndrome, best known as PTSD. When Madisson asked him what the transition was like, Jared told her, "What's another word for... awful? Before, I felt like I was doing something. Like, I was actually doing something, you know, like, I was somebody. Some people want to get out, I didn't want to get out. I just had to."
Madisson apologized to him for not being there when he needed the most, and asked him what the transition back to civilian life has been like, where he revealed that he drank every day to escape the haunting memories of his time in uniform. His answer echoed the sentiments of many who have found life back home from the home front so tough: "I get, like, terrible nightmares, I can never sleep. I'm okay with being depressed all the time. It became normal that I just feel like s___ every day. I don’t like people thinking I'm crazy. I don’t like the fact that someone looks at me and that's what they think — that that guy’s going to lose his mind every second now. I feel broken."
Being diagnosed with PTSD, later in the episode Jared went fishing with Canvas where he told her of his plans to see a local therapist in the Sarasota area who specializes in working with military veterans like him, and her adding that they would now look at doing other activities other than engaging in wild alcoholic binges, and doing whatever they can to support each other as he adjusts to post-military life. Also in the episode, Pauly was locked up for being a no-show for a court date after being caught having an open container of 20 grams of pot in his car, a potential felony that will see him face the music with his family this coming week.

IG @JKelderman
As he dreaded the episode that introduced the real Jared Kelderman to America, last week he got to head up to Destin, Florida - a bit a ways from Panama City Beach, where he got to hang out with someone who's different from him in so many ways, but thanks to being part of the MTV family they have certainly bonded.
If you watched Season 2 of Floribama Shore both last summer and then in the winter and continuing to the week of The Challenge: War of the Worlds premiere (and of Gus making his way from PCB to Africa), Kortni Gilson certainly had a summer to remember. She dealt so many times with an abusive ex-boyfriend who lurked everywhere in town like an alligator, and making out with an elderly woman at the club, to violating girl code with Nilsa two times in snuggling with Gus and even a brief pregnancy scare... and even giving a new definition to saying sorry by having that word spelled out in a pizza, of all things.
When Kortni and Jared crossed paths at a local bar in the Florida panhandle last week, they instantly bonded with them appearing in each other's stories on Instagram and Snapchat, and posted the above photo on everyone's IG timelines. She captioned, "What’s better than cute men? 🤷🏻‍♀️ @jkelderman #siestakey #mtvfloribamashore," and he wrote in his description, "When worlds collide #siestakey #floribamashore". With Gus telling the Floribama gang in the Season 2 finale that he may not return for a Season 3 due to wanting to improve relations with his family, perhaps a spot could be open for Jared to join Kortni and company in Panama City Beach. Imagine what that could be like.

In another Siesta/Floribama crossover, Kortni's roommate (and fellow PCB local) Nilsa has been conducting biweekly debriefs with the Siesta Key cast on the key moments of the season from the local prison... check out those Siesta Key Interrogations on the show's Twitter and Facebook pages - including the premiere version where she grilled Jared, Pauly and Alex on their fight.

BACKTRACKED EDITION

Well, hey there kiddos, we're at the weekend as we now delve in the week that was in MTV Reality... or at least, we have some unfinished business before turning to this week's activities. And it all begins with Ex On The Beach, as their endless summer #2 is now approaching its conclusion.

When we at DCBLOG were last in Malibu, Nicole and Chad to endure their first test of their budding relationship when Bad Chad's ex, Madeline, came to the house and right before her ex adds more fuel to the fire. There was another elimination for the house to take care of when Corey's ex Sha got the boot, and there was yet another costume party, as everyone dressed in drag, in Mr. Rogers and even a crab joined in the festivities. And it was a photo booth, of all things, that spurred more drama.

As we rejoin the gang here for Week 11 in paradise, for a house that isn't haunted there is nonetheless a ghost ready to invade the space as someone from the past of one of the OG's goes for some revenge. But the focus is again on the lone representative of The Challenge here, as her man goes on a date with his ex - with a couple spies looking in on matters. But it's what happens when the house takes a cue from a legendary comedian turned AYTO lover, and a low blow that spurs another meltdown.

After the jump, a backtracked edition of the Ex On The Beach SocialPulse. And welcome to the weekend...

DC ExtraTime: Team MTV Meets Perez Hilton

From During Are You The One? Season 5and originally posted the night of the 2017 Oscars

BY DC CUEVA

Tonight marks the climax of the Awards Season, as the movie industry caps off a stretch that began in November, seen many important awards and honors take place - including several in the past few days, and culminates tonight with the Academy Awards - the Oscars, at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. After coming seemingly out of nowhere to dominate the Golden Globes - typical for a movie that doesn't garner as much buzz mainstream-wise like a summer blockbuster, La La Land is expected to dominate tonight after receiving the most nominations.  Awards shows are always one of my favorite events, as it always brings together the best in any field under one roof for one night.

Two weekends ago saw music's best gather for Music's Biggest Night, as Los Angeles welcomed the best musicians on this planet for the Grammy Awards. Of course, Adele added to her growing legend in snaring five awards for Album of the Year and Best Pop Album for 25 (which she felt the first one should've gone to Beyonce for Lemonade and broke off a piece of the award for her), and Record & Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance for "Hello," for which she also performed that song to open this year's Grammys. Chance the Rapper won three awards including Best New Artist and two of the four rap awards - Drake took the other two in that field, while David Bowie was posthumously honored with four awards, and Beyonce & sister Solange took the stage and won awards too. Other key winners included Twenty One Pilots, The Chainsmokers, Pentatonix, Justin Timberlake, Megadeth and The Beatles.

Among those in town to rep Team MTV that week included three members of the Real World Bad Blood house and two of the lone members of their cast to go straight to Thailand for The Challenge Invasion in AnikaTheo and Jordan, who we featured hanging out with Giovanni of last year's AYTO season and the upcoming All-Stars Challenge not long ago. And also joining them for Grammys week was the co-subject of our look at the horror film Habit, AYTO alum Brittany. And when they were all partying in the same Avalon Hollywood nightclub that night, they ran into a very important - or infamous - person in the town where dreams come true.

IG @BrittanyBaldi
Over a decade & a half ago, Perez Hilton graduated from New York University with nothing to do and nothing planned in his post-college life, and tried anything from becoming an actor to working for GLAAD and serving as a freelance writer covering New York City's LGBT scene. But one day, this son of two Cuban immigrants from Miami would ultimately find his calling in something we know very well here - the art of blogging. He has become known for looking for those juicy pieces of gossip, both written and visual, that has made his web site, PerezHilton.com, the guilty pleasure of many of those who just love the celebrity culture. But unlike our site, he and his site have often been targets because of his relentless persona, having brought out of the closet a number of celebrities who are gay or lesbian, and Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande and one-time BFF Lady Gaga, among others, having brought him to court for over-covering them in a mostly negative light.

Despite his tainted reputation in Hollywood and in this world of celebrities, Brittany, Anika and Jordan all got to meet Perez when they spotted him at Avalon during Grammys week, for which their photo here above. Brittany captioned, "Perez Hilton and a some of my pretty #MTV family ❤, great meeting u! keep shining 🙃⭐," for which the blogger responded with a couple kissing emojis and Anika added a couple purple heart emojis, too.
