Last week, it was the semifinal - the last regular challenge before the final, and the four remaining teams were offered one more chance to prove themselves before the true test begins, as they returned to where the season's first challenge took place: on the beach. And their test molded speed, puzzles and pop culture... and while some of the teams struggled one did not. And in the end, it was CT and Tony who began the deciding pairs portion of this season on top, and it was them who gained the automatic berth into the final.
In holding all the power, the all-Champs team invited Wes & Booby to join them there - and this week Casper & Louise and Kailah & Drake who will battle it out for that last spot. And once the final field is determined, we arrive at a most-grueling final... and if you thought recent finals have been ho-hum, wait until you get to see what goes down: endurance, a wine vineyard, stages, and rain... all combining for the most intense final challenge we've had in quite a while... and for the first time in many years, it's one that may not be decided until the very last few minutes.
You and us will experience this nail-biter with all the action, reaction and interaction of this finale just ahead... and if you're looking for the In-Between interaction it's in its own post this week, featuring Father's Day, the World Cup, reflections on Ryan Knight and ghost stories(!). And once we crown a champion, stick around afterwards for ExtraTime where we'll have a fight that was caught on tape... courtesy of a member of MTV's most popular franchises.

Well, something that we have not been able to say much in our five years of covering The Challenge: quite a final. And quite a winning team in CT and Tony, but solid efforts by Louise & Casper and Wes & Booby... but each of them all made solid efforts to get the win, but in the end Team Dad Bod takes the cake. We'll have more on the business half of Champs vs. Stars III, and on the season itself on the WRAP coming up Tuesday. Now, let's digress...

A FIGHT IN THE BAR...
By comparison with what we've seen on the unique nature of Champs vs. Stars, it's a safe bet that with bad blood among the teams who've been paired up to go down to South Africa, we predict that a fight or two should break out on Final Reckoning in just a few weeks from now. In that spirit, we'd like to shift the conversation for a moment to something a little more violent...
Earlier this winter during Vendettas, we showed you a fight that was caught on camera by yours truly that took place at a local department store where I live in the Silicon Valley. There, an off-duty security guard got to throw down a suspected stealer at a local Target store just after the holidays. But that is relatively mild compared to the one we're showcasing here.
MTV fans can rightfully remember Bam Margera, the skateboarder of the Jackass crew who got to do the most dangerous NSFW stunts ever with Johnny Knoxville and company. Those who saw that show and his spinoff Viva La Bam can remember all the madness that he, his friends and family (including parents Phil and April) all brought viewers more than a decade ago. YouTube star Zach Holmes will channel the spirit of that show when his show Too Stupid To Die debuts this summer.
And on Thursday while our attention was on Ex On The Beach (which we'll have here tomorrow), at an afterparty following a backstage visit with 30 Seconds To Mars and Shannon & Jared Leto, Bam spotted a fight in front of him in North Jersey and just as I did here in the Bay, he took out his phone, recorded it on video and shared it with his Instagram crowd. As we say, more on Champs vs. Stars to come later on the WRAP: Finale Endgame come early next week... but later tonight, we turn to the show that will cap off this winter/spring MTV cycle: Ex On The Beach. And if you thought Spit-Gate was the biggest moment yet, wait until the latest super-twist gets dropped as the castaways who were voted off earlier on return to Hawaii. Don't you miss it... along with yet another fight (!).
