A week ago began the stretch drive of this season in the contesting of the penultimate daily challenge as a direct copy of sorts of American Gladiators' Atlasphere brought Kaycee and Leroy another daily win to solidify themselves with being the likely favorite to win this whole thing. But something that's inevitable this time of year but one that we saw well back earlier this winter was that an alliance had to fall apart this close to the cash: Nany deciding to get back with Kyle and giving CT rogue status as they've been trying to keep him from the final... and coming after Amber B. took down Big T in Hall Brawl.
For those who might not be familiar with how we roll around here, the Semifinal is our definition for the season's last regular challenge and elimination round, and this week that goes down before we head for the start line of the final. For every flaw this format might have, the last daily takes mini-final status in testing the endurance capability that's needed for every marathon to the cash... and it begins with TJ Lavin doing something he only does when serious business is needed, as this involves competing around an active volcano. And once the final elimination is done, we will have our version of the Final Four -- but not before something very introverted taking place along that route.
Ahead here, all the action, reaction and interaction of Week 17 of this Challenge season, along with another trip to the Strategy Room to make our official prediction of who wins it all. But after the break, someone who was part of the second wave of the British Invasion into The Challenge makes a heartbreaking announcement about the love of his life. We begin with that tough news: 2-time Ex On The Beach UK alum and War of the Worlds challenger Ashley Cain tearfully announced on Thursday that after several months of chemotherapy, efforts to try and find a cure to save the life of his young daughter of less than a year, Azaylia, may have fallen short as the rare form of leukemia she's been battling has rapidly expanded throughout her body. We'll have more on this after this week's episode coverage, but when he posted a video of that gut-wrenching news he got from doctors those in the reality community and his friends across the pond sent Ashley & Azaylia's mom Safiyya Vorajee their best wishes.

After Azaylia’s CT and ultrasound scan we have been informed by consultants that they have found tumours in Azaylia’s brain, but also in her kidneys, liver, lungs and spleen. Consultants said there is no way to tackle the tumours on her brain because of the high pressure in her head. Her chemotherapy is also not reducing the disease in her blood anymore because it is that aggressive. Today we also found out that Singapore has not been able to create a CART treatment to cure Azaylia because of the rarity and aggressiveness of her leukemia. This was our last, our only and our final option to save Azaylia and her disease was even too complex for them. So we will be now returning home with our beautiful baby to give her the best possible time left that we can. I am so proud of my baby girl she has been fighting for so so long, and doesn’t deserve this to happen to her! there isn’t enough words out there to describe the heartache & pain I’m feeling but I’m incredibly honoured to have become a mummy to my precious girl❤️. I don’t have many words at this difficult time But for now Thankyou for all your love & support for Azaylia and us as a family ❤️❤️❤️

FINAL DESTINATION
And we're left with our Final Four: Cory & Kam, CT & Amber, Fessy & Kaycee, and Leroy & Nany... and as much as we'd want to forget watching this and move onto All-Stars, this still is a good field of those who've proved themselves to get here... and there are also those handful of vets who want to take it to the next level by nabbing the crown. And just as it was for the past two Final Fours, we will have at least one, or as best two, first-time champion(s) grasping on that $1 million paycheck by the time this once is finished... and we have a good chance that the winning female will be a person of color, too.
With each of these eight finalists having earned their way into the marathon for the million by the CV's they put together in Iceland, we have those who we can root for and those who we'll be rooting against -- obviously, a lot of you will be doing the ladder for the one who had the last word above. But we have teams that would make those at The Amazing Race want to tune in due to how natural the pairings are: the couple, the Big Brother team, the Real World Vegas pair and the team of new gen's aiming to validate their resume with a first ring.
Fessy & Kaycee have already achieved a lot in their first two seasons being undefeated in elimination and making finals in both of their campaigns, albeit with the former having more of the buzz than his reserved BB20 champion colleague. Cory is into his 4th final with a nice stat-sheet, and this might be his best chance to win here in having a strong partner in Kam who's now into final #3 with a similar resume in the day and at night... she too could also have a reasonable shot at the million.
Leroy & Nany are on a similar mission to win their first title and send him possibly into retirement a champion in this his 5th finals appearance and just her 2nd trip to the end -- and this comes a decade after their Real World. And CT is into his 9th final - tied for most with Bananas and Cara all-time - and a fourth title would vault him more into legend status, and his final partner Amber B. is the 6th to go from the Big Brother house to a Challenge final... and she'd love to be that first BB winner.
And without much to elaborate on, it's so hard for us to even forecast who we think will be reigning supreme at the summit because each of them have put together solid seasons that would make them worthy that they'd be the last ones standing. But, of course, we can only have one team winning and finals are only determined on the field. So, may the best one win - they'll be worthy champions.

Meanwhile, today was Moving Day at The Masters where another round of 65 was carded: this time by Japan's Hideki Matsuyama as he seeks to give his nation its first men's major golf title and a sweep of both final rounds at Augusta National after Tsubasa Kajitani's triumph at last week's Women's Amateur. Tomorrow, DCNOW will live tweet the final round at @DC408DxNow, for which we'll be posting the 'Pulse of All-Stars after the awarding of the green jacket.
