Well, it's on. It's the final of The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines as we welcome you again to DCBLOG and The 'Pulse. We have had a most unpredictable season, which has culminated with an unexpected final three going for the $350,000.
In Episode 11, we moved from Bodrum, Turkey to Berlin, Germany for the last challenge before the final. A race across speeding trucks saw Cory & Mitch notch a huge win to claim their finals berth in their rookie showing, and put in Cara Maria & Jamie into the Pit once again. Before they faced off with Aneesa & Rianna, the veteran ladies had it out in the Berlin night, while the show's oldest challenger also had it out with her cousin. In the end, Cara got the best of Aneesa to notch her third win, joining Jenna & Brianna and the guys in the final.
This time, the focus shifts to a final challenge unlike any other, as unlike other finals that have taken place in a desert, a snow-capped mountain or at altitude, the Bloodlines final will take place in the heart of a major city for the very first time. Cara & Jamie, Cory & Mitch and Jenna & Bri all have their eyes on the lion's share of the $350K in the first part of the finale, which sees them head to a former CIA station somewhere in the Berlin area and where the unexpected takes place.
We'll have all the action, reaction and interaction from the penultimate episode here, as well as some of the lead-up and aftermath as well. Note this doesn't include their reactions to Super Bowl 50, which you can check out in the DC Big Game post on my day at Levi's Stadium just before the big game. And if you can stick around for ExtraTime, we'll ask "Where Are They Now?" to two members of the Real World alumni as we begin the countdown to RW Go Big or Go Home.

Well, a unifying theme has emerged in our time covering the Trifecta where we're always told, "Expect the Unexpected." And it's happened again in the momentum after stage 1 of this Bloodlines final lying with Jenna & Brianna after they made the former CIA station their own playground and seeing the favorites Cara Maria & Jamie and Jenna's roommate Cory & his cousin Mitch struggle. But as Cory reminded us, "This is not a sprint...it's a marathon," and we've only had stage 1 of 5. We'll analyze this first part of the final on The WRAP coming up here tomorrow or on Finals Day.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
As we approach Bloodlines' end, we are inching our way towards St. Patrick's Day and the debut of Real World: Go Big or Go Home, for which Las Vegas is the next stop in our coverage of the MTV Trifecta. And if you're a member of the LGBT community, then you know about the RW/Challenge franchise being a trendsetter in showcasing over 20 years of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered castmates. With recent developments happening to both, two of them are the subjects of this week's 'Pulse ExtraTime and this Where Are They Now?.
When we first saw Karamo Brown, he was a nonprofit worker & BA major from Houston who struggled with feelings about interracial dating, which stemmed from a young upbringing of strong anti-white prejudices. But he dropped a bombshell on the first night in Philly when he revealed to roommate Shavonda (whom many of us thought they would be the first to hook up) that he was gay, which left her jaw-dropped. Later when the group went to a gay bar, Karamo came out to Landon & MJ much to their shock, and he had finally had a chance to be himself. As the season went on, he expressed strong views on race, had a brush with the cops that stemmed from references to the N-word in front of the guys, and took down stereotypes of being a African-American gay man, the first such on Real World.
After doing Challenge Inferno II afterwards, Karamo would find himself with something he never expected: becoming a dad. In 2006, a letter demanding overdue child support at first confused him, but found through a Texas attorney general that he had a son who was kept secret by a lady friend from high school who became pregnant while being a sophomore. But after some searching, then 10-year-old Jason Brown had finally come home to his dad. Later, half-brother Chris would join him and Karamo in LA, where the dad has become a talented media personality in being on Dr. Drew's HLN show, Oprah's OWN network and red-carpet shows too, while being a role model & great dad too.
On Wednesday, Karamo returned to the reality TV world as one of the six cast members of a new show on African-American network TV One called The Next :15, which sees him, VH1 alums Tiffany "New York" Pollard and Benzino, Claudia from Real Housewives Atlanta, and Jennifer and Laura of Basketball Wives, take on doing a group project that takes advantage of their passions. Karamo's broadcasting career will combine with the other castmates' passions of online, kids' books, fatherhood, magazines and acting to create for an interesting dynamic that looks to rewrite the book on reality TV. As soon as he moved into the house, he found himself at odds with hardcore conservative Stephen who like Davis had strict religious views, but as a hardcore Republican was opposed to gay marriage. But ultimately when his boyfriend came into town during Pride week, Davis was in his own element and Stephen became accepting of his stance. But the most notable moment for Davis at 5280' was a confrontation he had with Tyrie, where a drunken night - also including derogatory language, led to them going at it. Similar to what happened to Mike on AYTO 3, Davis was put in a hotel for the night to cool off and threatened to leave Denver but was ultimately persuaded to stay in the house. And of course, we saw Davis on later Challenges - including being paired with Tyrie on Rivals and getting punched by CT on Inferno 3.
Now in his post-MTV life, he is DJ & musician Davis Mallory. His experience being in a church choir early on led him into the music world, where while interning at an EDM label and writing for blogs he became one the handful who got to know Ellie Goulding before her breakout, as well as promoting David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, deadmau5 and Kylie Minogue. And he got to become friends with Laverne Cox before we saw her on Orange Is The New Black, and has translated into a multi-faceted career being a host for the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, 2 and 3.
After Diem Brown's passing more than a year ago, Davis penned an original song in honor of his late MTV castmate, "Beautiful Girls (Diem's Song)," for which you can listen here on SoundCloud. And just a couple weeks ago, he posted there a new cover of Justin Beiber's "What Do You Mean?" along with another original track, "Anyone Would Know." Check out his SoundCloud for all of those tracks and more, which were also helped out by those who've written for Taylor Swift and Faith Hill, and has seen him DJ at CMA Fest and college fests with Aaron Carter and Nikki Williams.
