Welcome once again to DCBLOG's ongoing coverage of The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines. With everything that's happened, it's hard to believe that we're heading towards the conclusion of this season as we have reached the season's Final Four.
Last time in Turkey, the game changed back to the original pairs format as the originals & their bloodlines reunited, just in time for the toughest test yet. A grueling endurance mission and mini-final tested stamina and patience which identified who had the best and the least chances of winning. Despite Cory's leg almost going out, Mitch put him on his back and came away winners. And then, they bravely voted in Johnny Bananas & Vince in to face Cara Maria & Jamie but the redhead prevailed, just before the group changed their destination.
This time, the game arrives in Berlin, Germany as the final four teams of Cara & Jamie, Aneesa & Rianna, Cory & Mitch and Jenna & Brianna arrive for the last challenge before the final. There, they, two trucks and a few cars take the competitors on a stunt-filled joyride with finals berths awaiting them. Plus, simmering tension among a pair and then two veterans with pent up anger towards one another finally gets unleashed, with all roads lead to an epic showdown.
Of course, we'll have all the action, reaction and interaction from this final regular mission and Pit from both the cast and fans, plus the usual lead-up and aftermath as well. This includes Johnny Bananas heading out to Aspen for the madness that is the Winter X-Games.

So, we had Aneesa & Rianna get into some in-fighting and the vet getting into words with Cara on the bus. We had a showdown with them that ended up with a 3rd straight elimination win for Cara Maria & Jamie going into the final. Cory & Mitch proved that they're in it for the long haul as the won the last regular challenge and garnering some momentum as well. And we have an unlikely final three that will go for the cash. We'll dissect what this all means as we head to the final coming your way here tomorrow on the WRAP.
Delving briefly from The Challenge here for a shoutout to a fellow follower here in ExtraTime and a rather unique experience he had while most of the U.S. had a snowstorm a few weeks back. If you were with us at the beginning of our voyage through the MTV world in summer 2013 back when there were only two shows in that crown I now call the Trifecta, one of the first posts I got to do was what's now the DC FORUM.
Now for me, the only wrestling I might watch these days is Olympic-style wrestling that you'd see at the college level, and of course we'll be seeing a lot of it come this August at the Rio Olympics. But just a few weeks back, and before popular wrestler Daniel Bryan announced his retirement last night, Kevin fulfilled every wrestling fan's fantasy of flying down to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL and seeing where the magic happens for the next generation of wrestling's best.

So, we had Aneesa & Rianna get into some in-fighting and the vet getting into words with Cara on the bus. We had a showdown with them that ended up with a 3rd straight elimination win for Cara Maria & Jamie going into the final. Cory & Mitch proved that they're in it for the long haul as the won the last regular challenge and garnering some momentum as well. And we have an unlikely final three that will go for the cash. We'll dissect what this all means as we head to the final coming your way here tomorrow on the WRAP.

FAN OF THE WEEK
Delving briefly from The Challenge here for a shoutout to a fellow follower here in ExtraTime and a rather unique experience he had while most of the U.S. had a snowstorm a few weeks back. If you were with us at the beginning of our voyage through the MTV world in summer 2013 back when there were only two shows in that crown I now call the Trifecta, one of the first posts I got to do was what's now the DC FORUM.
Before evolving into discussions with fellow MTV insiders - namely my traditional season-end wrap-up with fellow fan & host Andrew Kirk which I'll do here again after Bloodlines wraps up, it was just reunion & after show chats with fans who got to attend those shows for a unique look at the taping process. When I did the first of those for Real World Portland before Rivals II, I got a good amount of praise for that post and that really inspired me in covering this longtime passion of mine and eventually make this site more MTV-centric.
One of the two subjects I talked to was Kevin Gonzalez, who not only attended that Portland reunion but also the ones for Real World St. Thomas and Challenge BOTS 2. And yes by the way, if you saw that picture I posted in the Portland Forum post there, he does bear a close resemblance to actor Jason Statham. And though he did get to meet Jay at the EDM Daisy festival in New York over Memorial Day weekend last year, he's evolved to now being more of a wrestling fan than MTV fan.

With an all-access pass to the facility with many other fellow wrestling fans, he got to see the school for up & coming WWE wrestlers, which accepts students on an invite-only basis to train them for the big time. This closed-access building also doubles as a training, sports science and sports medical facility for the sports entertainment empire, and is a home base for productions and live events for WWE NXT, the organization's developmental system (aka the minor leagues for Raw & Smackdown).
There, Kevin got to jump into the ring, did a ring entrance and served as a manager of a tag team against NXT wrestler Biff Busick...his pair won that battle. He also met divas Lita, Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss, Carmella and wrestler Finn Bálor, and also got his own autographed chair too as a memento of that awesome day.
