A season that began back in mid-July and has lasted all of these past four months finally reached its descent last week when one last Purge took place in Colombia: time-tested veteran Derrick K. took care of what was a fairly easy battle to take the last spot for the guys, while in spite of what happened earlier on Camila won over Team Jailah to take it for the ladies. That set up a final featuring them, CT, Cara Maria, Jordan and Tori that began with a skydive 20,000 feet into Argentina.
After a scary landing by the man who also plays a cop in his other Tuesday TV gig, this week sees the finalists tackle the familiar setting of a Challenge final in Lionel Messi's homeland, while seeing them brave the elements and the extreme altitude of this majestic region as they through the mountains of Argentina with $1 million in prize money waiting for them. And at the end of all of this, just as you thought that this was gonna finally be the end of the longest season of an MTV Trifecta series since episodes expanded to one hour nine years ago... think again.

Well after all of that, as we talk to you late on this Friday night, November 10th - the birthday of both Kailah and Jonna, here's the most interesting fact that's come up for this week's blog wave:
Five Months have past now since this very Challenge XXX season and its trailer was first revealed at an MTV reality discussion with Challenge & Real World co-creator Jon Murray and show-runners of Jersey Shore, Teen Mom and My Super Sweet 16 at the Austin TV Festival... while I was in Disneyland celebrating my niece's 9th birthday. And as yours truly gets to celebrate my birthday this weekend, and to paraphrase the legendary tennis broadcaster Bud Collins at that epic Gentlemen's Singles Final encounter between Bjorn Borg and John McEnroe in 1980 at Wimbledon, yet we are still not at a decision thanks to another TJ twist: those who win, place and show in the $1 million final won't be revealed until the reunion... a two-part one which will lead into the premiere of Champs vs. Stars, two days before Thanksgiving.
So, we're not done quite yet. More to come on the WRAP on Sunday.

The mansion where had Michael rented in the Holmby Hills neighborhood in the Los Angeles district of Westwood in preparation for this 2009 This is It tour, different from his well-known Neverland Ranch, has become a well-known tourist destination in the years since. And last week, it hosted one of those well-known parties in the L.A. area, and two Real World/Challenge alums who we featured in ExtraTime bits earlier this year were invited to that party: Syrus Yarborough from the Boston season of 20 years ago, and Beth Stolarczyk, alum of RW Los Angeles and a longtime Challenge staple.
Beth wrote in her Instagram caption, "Loved running into Syrus @ michael Jackson’s last house. Remembering the king of pop. #michaeljackson #kingofpop #realworld #thechallenge" And for Sy, he took video inside the mansion which we have embedded below.

If your memories are somewhat sketchy, Ceejai came to that third Las Vegas season last year and in the premiere shared the sobering memories of a painful day when both of her parents were killed just hours apart. But she is best remembered for the racial tensions that took place with her and South Carolina girl Jenna (different from the Jenna that we've known since Ex-Plosion), which came to a boiling point at the end of that season when Ceej pushed Jenna, then proceeded to hit her on the head, and leading to both being sent home.
Last week in Atlanta, Ceejai got to hang out with Tyara from RW Bad Blood, more than a year after the ladder made her way to Seattle for that season. Of course, who can forget us feeling a bit clueless of how she got that British accent, as well as of her flirting with Theo early on. Ceej wrote on Instagram, "Tuh😌💪🏽💁🏽❤️😌 Y’all know y’all done effed up right??
