We are in the last full week of the traditional September-to-May television season, the time where the major broadcast networks air their biggest series, where they are also pitching their fall lineups to advertisers along Broadway, and where fans are waiting to see if their favorite show is on that lineup or not. And for those who are anxious but also in a teary eyed mood, come next week the network comedies, dramas and most other programming you love will wrap up their seasons, to be replaced for the next few months by a whole kaleidoscope of reality programming, which includes a new season of Big Brother, America's Got Talent and others.
For us who follow the MTV world, there's no need to worry. We have a new season of Are You The One to come to the linear MTV cable channel, while the emerging platform of Facebook Watch will be the home to the revival of The Real World with seasons to take place in Atlanta, Mexico City and Bangkok, Thailand. In time for Memorial Day next week, it'll be the premiere of Season 2 of How Far is Tattoo Far? - the U.S. version of MTV international format Just Tattoo of Us, followed a month later by the return of The Hills in the New Beginnings reboot. And as a prelude to another Monday night doubleheader, Teen Mom OG returns next month with originals Maci, Amber and Catelynn marking their tenth anniversary on MTV this summer.
#TattooFar, along with a sneak preview of the series that eventually became Teen Mom: Young Moms Club, gained the ever-coveted spot of launching out of last year's blockbuster Jersey Shore Family Vacation. Another show that gained what might be the Super Bowl-like spot of following the return of that cast to our airwaves was another global MTV format, Ex On The Beach, and after two jaw-dropping seasons of the American version of the British franchise that debuted five years ago (for which last year's Vendettas introduced this series to the U.S. as the bridge to that debut), Season 3 has been filming over this spring while our focus has been on The Challenge.
Who will be among those who will see the answers to the question, "Whose Ex Is Next?" After the jump, we'll discuss who will be in that position. So once again, get ready to join us for some tea around the hotstove.
Season 1 a year ago this spring saw Cory Wharton take his talents from The Challenge to a familiar sight of seeing his exes come by just as he got to endure on his original Real World season. Before Alicia came to scare him two times in Hawaii, he got to become cozy with someone who's become a good friend of Jake Paul's, AYTO alum Taylor Selfridge... and if what they've been posting on social media lately is an indication, it may be something for us to keep an eye out for when his continuing journey through parenthood rolls along on Teen Mom OG, with a pit stop at the Tattoo Far parlor for both him and baby mama Cheyenne Floyd.
Last year, we saw the lady who has become one of the least-loved people in the MTV community, Farrah Abraham, go from being kicked off of Teen Mom in favor of Cheyenne and Cory, to being on the channel again as headliner of Season 2 of EOTB. She only had to deal with her ex Simon being in the house for a short time, but her mark was made during the season as did the first returning stars of the U.S. series: Angela Babicz and her ex Tor'i Brooks, after what happened on Season 1 and the money drama of what happened after the season ended.
In both of those seasons, we've also seen familiar faces from The Challenge and Are You The One being joined by those from all over the reality community who sought the opportunity at first to broaden their reach to the 12 to 34 year-olds who are now wanting their MTV. These people range from those of a now-cancelled show on a pre-crime Oxygen channel in Bad Girls Club, two suitors from JoJo Fletcher's Bachelorette season, alumni from the same Big Brother season that crossed across the old Viacom way to MTV, and also a few randoms as well.
For what Season 3 will await us when it premieres sometime in the future, as it was for the first two seasons there will be something for everyone. A few who've become household names in Challenge world and who got their start many years ago will be on the Season 3 EOTB cast. But the most notable name for the casuals who will install themselves in the MTV Reality game for the first time is someone who, fifteen years ago, saw her debut on the third iteration of the MTV show that predated American Idol and other musical talent showcases.
Below, the rumored cast list, albeit a partial one in only mention those of particular interest.

The Newbies...

♥ MARK JANSEN - Big Brother 19) - OG

♥ ALLISON "Allie" KAPLAN - Influencer/Artist

♥ CAMERON ARMSTRONG - ABC's Boy Band
♥ MAX EHRICH - Actor (The Young & The Restless, Sweet/Vicious)
♥ DEMETRUS "MECHIESOOCRAZY" HARRIS - Rapper
♥ BILL REILICH - What Happens at the Abbey
Just as is always the case for this show, there are several takeaways among the listed notables...
♥ As it was last season, those who saw AYTO 6 will have a big triangle to keep an eye out for here, although it's not exactly an all-NOLA one like what we had with Nurys, Malcolm and Didi. Geles was flirty with Anthony M. on their season, but just seeing her her splash that drink at him at the Mardi Gras prom best sums up how their fling didn't work out there. But the most interesting dynamic might be with him and Shannon, who have been on and off in the year since his comeback and her cast's meltdown, and it should be something to keep your eye on.
♥ Kenya and Tevin had their buzzed-about relationship on AYTO 7 last year where we saw them become a couple of great interest during the Season of Fate - no challenges to determine the weekly getaway daters. #Kevin went into the Truth Booth towards the end of the season, and them being the second of last year's three matches -- and the first of the two that came at season's end -- was a difference maker in the house taking out the $1 million. How they will handle being in the same house once again should be something to watch.
♥ Marie and Anthony had a thing going during those first few days in the Shelter during the underdog phase on Invasion of the Champions, and it got cut short when she lost in that first elimination in what turned out to be a test drive to what the trilogy would await. And after some online flirting of late, things are set up for 'Ri and Ant to perhaps do something more this time around, and it should be for a longer duration than what we saw in Thailand.
♥ Before becoming a Challenge staple and distracting Bananas quite a bit, Devin got his start on AYTO and how he gets to transition from what we saw during the trilogy of being all over Bananas to being on Ex will be an interesting prospect especially with how he handles the same politics we saw from him on Season 3 that saw him singlehandedly win them the whole thing and of sending people home on the Second Chances spinoff and his Challenge appearances.
♥ And for the celeb aspect of this season, those who watched her appearances on TV know Aubrey is quite a character... so is Elena and Mark if you watched Big Brother 19, the one that gave us Josh on War of the Worlds. As it was there in Namibia, we have two twins on the cast in Alexa & Allison, while two musicians are in the house as well - one of those appeared on last year's Boy Band (which introduced fans to winners In Real Life). There is also an actor, one who worked alongside last year's exes Murray & Cory at the Abbey in West Hollywood, and someone not on the list who is also transgender.
In all, it's not a bad cast... and we won't elaborate more on what will go down, other than just giving you the deets of who will be joining Romeo Miller on the beach and in the mansion, and of getting commentated on as only Welborn Ferrene can do.
Season 1 offered more to Cory's longtime MTV story which, thanks to him getting back together with Taylor, will offer something to watch for on Teen Mom. We saw Angela make quite a mark in being the U.S. version's first two-time castmate, and Season 2 had plenty of remember as well. And it's rumored that the same house in Malibu that hosted the most recent iteration of "the Ultimate Relations*** Show" will again play host to all of the excitement of seeing reality favorites find out "Whose Ex is Next." Should be fun...
Now, we were planing to drop something in relation to romantic reality television and someone else familiar to MTV fans coming onto a show that debuted just last week. But we'll be saving that for later for the fact that someone from the cast of Siesta Key has just gotten close to one who has quite the connections with the MTV family and who just had a one-night-stand with someone who is friends with a fellow MTV veteran. We'll share you that tea here this weekend... enjoy part 1 of the final in less than 24 hours.
