Inside MTV Reality: The Siesta Key WRAP - The Season 3 Winter Finale Pt. 1

And so, welcome and thanks for joining us on this St. Patrick's Day... we know it's been an overwhelming week, and it's thrown our timing off the loop because of everything that's going on, and we apologize to those of you who've been waiting for us to begin this week's posts.
   But let's not get anything down around here: something you can count on us to do is to get away from what's been going on in the world, especially when you all need some time to relax & escape. There's no better place than here at DCBLOG going Inside MTV Reality, and in a part of the country where you have many options to chill, unwind & enjoy the sun there in Florida, we're about to dive into our double WRAP of the Season 3 Winter Finale of Siesta Key.

It has been a game-changing summer in the sultry summertime heat of the Sunshine State as the dynamic of the clique of a close-knit group of friends that rolled into our hearts three years ago has suddenly turned upside down. It began with an alum of Bachelor Nation coming to town to win over the town's resident queen, and it took for a thrown phone for the romance of Robby & Juliette to head into that watery grave. That's just the tip of the iceberg of a season that's that seen the protagonist of this East Coast reality soap opera get into two fights, among everything this else on this third trip to this suburb outside Sarasota, FL.

The week before last saw not one, but two episodes to provide those not interested in Super Tuesday something else to watch: Alex & the crew drove up to girlfriend Alyssa's parents house in Georgia for the 4th of July, but somehow the drama bug also came along with them when he got into it with Chloe over her allegiance to Juliette... and he would then crash the ex's grand opening of her new fashion boutique, even giving a love slap to Robby. This gave Chloe reason to call for an emergency campfire meeting to bring the group together, but once again #JALEX was the top story.

Now, the dog days of summer is winding towards its conclusion, and once again it's two hours at the Key. And first up, another trip out of town: this time to Nashville as Brandon makes his next step as an artist and where past relationships (including THAT one) also take center stage right in the heart of Music City. Join us after the break for the WRAP of Part 1 of this Mid-Season Finale, as we hope to add some sunny vibes to this cloudy time right now. You deserve this, after all...

Before we start, last summer as filming of what's now the first half of this season 3 was taking place, we did an ExtraTime bit featuring postcards of the cast's Nashville trip. As we did for when we got to feature the Egyptian-themed gala on season 2, we're kept in the blue of the drama that went down there --- and we would never spoil anything else pertaining to the episode itself outside of what's being shared on Instagram. So with that taken care of, let's proceed to the top moments...

 THINGS TO KNOW 
EPISODE 11

● MUSIC CITY BOUND: At that unity bonfire, Brandon asks the group to continue their bonding exercise by inviting them to join him for the next step in his musical journey: a trip to Nashville to record & perform alongside emerging country artist Shawny, as well as visit Warner Music's offices there. Everyone else begins to prepare for a second chance at what they hope will be a drama-free trip, this time to a bigger city than a small-town south, and one that, while at the gym, Chloe tells Alyssa that they're "trying to be adults" rather than kids after the events of last week.



● KEY ON THE SCENE: They then arrive in Nashville as they also join Jules' friend Hannah (who we saw in Season 1-B) as they get to enjoy everything Music City has to offer, including plenty of cowboy hats, rides on the bull and a party bus. With the temptation of all the goodies behind the bar being available, Garrett and Kelsey get to enjoy not only the music but also each other. And when the two kiss in the dance floor, Jared gives the bird to the model... but it's just the start of a night where #Gelsey also hook up later after hours.





● GOING FOR AN AXE: The next day, the group splits up: Amanda, Brandon, Juliette, Madisson & Paul go riding on horses while #Gelsey, Chloe & Jared get the more fun assignment - and one that seems creepy now: throwing axes. There, Jared decides to go after Kelsey & Garrett for what went down at the club last night, before Alex walks in and gets debriefed by Chloe of what happened before he flew in. After some pregaming, that night they go into the ACME bar where Brandon & Shawny perform as Madisson wears overalls and shots & toasts are given to Mr. BG.



● RUMOR GOES WRONG: Earlier on, Alyssa got to chill with Alex in bed before he headed off to Tennessee. Before he arrives, one who tags along with the group is Pauly, which it takes until finale night for him to make his lone Season 3 cameo. On the party bus he comes to Jules where, after she tells him that she was lost with her ex and who's "continuously being mind-f'd" by Alex, he replies that, "Alex is coming to get back with you." When word of that gets to him, Alex gets p'd off at his cousin, but after Pauly owns up to his mistake they squash things as he promises to not do it again.

● AMANDA BLOWS UP: Before this year, Amanda was a background character on this series - but her being part of a love triangle has brought her more into the forefront this winter. On the party bus, Amanda got to talk a bit about Alex... but it's when he arrives that things get a bit fiery from the bad girl when she decides to get close to Alex and then decides to fire away at Jules on the side at the bar when they assume that she is on his side. But that's not all when it comes to what Amanda is finding herself in... we'll delve more into that in the back-half of this WRAP Double Shot. One Amanda is already a pop-off queen in MTV land, maybe we have another one here.

As we mentioned in our last Siesta WRAP in what seems long ago now, Nashville was devastated recently by the tornadoes that touched down east of the city and in the suburbs of the town. MTV's country sibling, CMT, is based in Nashville and last week it partnered with the American Red Cross to help raise money for those affected by the storms. So far, over 300 donors have pledged nearly $25,000 to the CMT donation page at RedCross.org, and despite the attention now being paid to what's going on elsewhere those in Middle Tennessee still need your help at the link there.

Tomorrow: the theory "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" comes to the town known by many as Nash-Vegas -- before the biggest bombshell ever rocks the Key. And later this week: our countdown begins to what will be the only game in town in The Challenge. Talk to you then, and stay safe.
