Back in April, The Challenge All-Stars began much to our joy with some of the biggest stars of the show you love returning for a new spinoff of the regular show that feels very much like the show we're used to now with old faces. It was part of the second wave of offerings by MTV parent ViacomCBS' entry into the battle for everyone's eyeballs in this new reality of streaming called Paramount+, and it certainly delivered in every which way with those we know bringing us a memorable first go-around that was worth paying the small $5 to watch it all unfold.
This week, it's the much-anticipated sequel to that freshman offering... as Season 2 of All-Stars takes place down in Cancun, Mexico, which has hosted many MTV shows over the years from many weekends of that rite of March known as Spring Break, to a Real World season that three of this season's competitors made their debuts on twelve years ago. They and twenty-one others -- including several returnees from last season and others who return after some twenty years away -- are back to pursue the $500,000 that awaits the winners at season's end. And in this tropical paradise, two power players renew an old rivalry, while host TJ Lavin gets to do what he does best: lay a Teej-bomb on the players.

The last one who we featured there was one who competed on Fresh Meat II back in 2010 alongside Ryan and Darrell of this All-Star group and the rest of that vaunted class there in Vancouver, Carley, having the last word. And judging from what RW Back to Vegas referred to as "Local Girl" and everyone else, it seems that Tina has been welcomed back with open arms after this opening daily, where Derrick & Jodi are the power team and have control of who goes where elimination wise, which is a double elimination one. Should be fun...
Well, there's one more blog post to come here in this week's wave: tomorrow, this site's busy travel itinerary will see us make a stop in Orlando, Florida as we rejoin the one figure who we have covered more than any other outside of the shows we cover. We'll be hooking up with Dre as we venture along with him and a couple friends for the annual celebration of Pride, to be joined by a litany of newbies right there down in Central Florida.
But now - after 747 days, here we go: the moment you, me and all of us have been waiting for is now finally at hand as all of the anticipation, whatever pent-up stuff that has piled up during this time, and everything else is about to let loose in four epic days to come. The world's greatest playground for adult enjoyment and freedom awaits this blogger as soon as I step out of this chair and my house, and it's almost about time to let it all go right there in Sin City.
