As your Sunday and this last April's weekend is winding down, spring is just getting getting warmed up just a few weeks away from the wildly-acknowledged start of summer come Memorial Day weekend. And as the weather now is starting to warm up, so is the show of our principal focus in the MTV beat with week two of Ex on the Beach.
   Last week, a couple people familiar to everyone who watches MTV arrived on the Big Island of Hawaii and the phattest house on the island as Challenge/Real World alum Cory and Are You The One? beauty Taylor did not take long to get cozy... and so did some other personalities from the reality TV world and a few social media stars diving into what they thought was just another romantic reality show. Instead, Romeo Miller broke the news that their exes will crash the singles bash, and it also didn't take long for another familiar MTV name to invade Hawaii as one of the three exes who got to put a scare out of our new cast.
   That guy who goes by the simple nickname of Team Chocolate finds himself in the middle of this week's drama and he and his ex -- a member of the Bad Girls Club family -- are whisked down to a dungeon downstairs where they will be forced to bring out all of their secrets... and what happens there bears a similarity to what he had to go through the last time he dated a reality star. Meanwhile, a new ex arrives with a secret that will soon have everyone lose their minds... and another one familiar to MTV viewers shows up again at the most opportune time. And just when you think it gets more twisted, it becomes a true reality show when something standard makes its way here.

We got our first glimpse at the Shack of Secrets which saw Angela & Derrick and Chris & Chelsko and their relationships be put to the test: the former with the Bad Girl looking through Team Chocolate's phone and the ladder with a lie detector test on whether she got to enjoy quality time with his uncle, which turned out to not be the case. And we also had our first elimination known as "Cut or Crush", as Taylor's ex Andre who had already moved into the house was on his way back to Minnesota... and this is just week 2.

Briefly: last December the high school alma mater of yours truly, Milpitas High School, won its first state championship in high school football when they won the Division 4 state crown. This weekend has seen two notable alumni take center stage...
   On Saturday at the NFL Draft, a member of the 2013 high school grad class, Vita Vea, was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after spending his college career at the University of Washington. Before shifting to defense, Vea was on offense and played as a big running back for the Trojans - which a YouTube Video from the Max Preps site was posted after being taken on Day 3.
   And tonight, the hosts of that aforementioned The Real, including Jeannie Mai - who was part of the same MHS Class of '97 as my sister - won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host(s), beating out a field that included hosts of similar female panel shows The Talk and The View, plus Live with Kelly Ripa & Ryan Seacrest and Harry Connick, Jr.

Congrats to both of them... you made us alums feel oh so proud to be Trojans this weekend.
