Well, here we are... it might be a long time on the calendar, but it feels not long ago that we were down in Florida with the Siesta Key kids as they got to celebrate Juliette's graduation to begin the 'Twenties. But after being witness to plenty of good stuff in the competitive fire of The Challenge, the craziness of Floribama Shore, and being in the snow of a winter-themed Ex On The Beach, we've reached the last leg of our 2020 ride Inside MTV Reality as far as the shows we have a vested interest in... and where else can we wrap it up than in the capital of adult freedom.
Las Vegas has just welcomed the Raiders to town, and has been the venue for the only romantic reality series to be recorded & aired in this Covid world, the second U.S. season of Love Island. It has also been a great host to the second season of A Double Shot at Love, the hybrid of the reality dating genre as MTV sees it with the Jersey Shore franchise, and last year saw both fun and heartbreak as contestants competed to win over the affection of the two remaining bachelors of the most beloved family in the MTV universe, DJ Pauly D. Delvecchio and Vinny Guadagnino.
We have had plenty of fun, drama, pranks, blowups and side orders of hilarity and laughs that you only get in this part of the MTV Reality world... not to mention, guest spots from a Jersey Shore family that, as we speak, are now en route to another vacation in the new year. But now comes the saddest part of all: the final hours in Sin City... but given what we've been able to witness down in Florida they're not gonna go out without a bang. And in the case of the various romances that's popped up this summer, they're the question of what's next before they leave Las Vegas.

The last word belonging to a reality production vet, Drew Tappon, as after a dramatic end to last year's quest for love, this year it's good vibes all around. Derynn is staying in town to get to know Ricky more, and there's more clarity for everyone else - both in the bromance's own relationships with their exes Maria and Nikki, and the rest of the house. It's now a matter of what's gone on in the now full year since... we'll find out in short order.

But there have been some serendipities to that postscript: one has become an in-demand figure in music videos, her fellow roommate got to dance on Let's Make A Deal, two of the guys are already new dads, and another has a big hit on TikTok. And along with the resident fitness nut of the bunch, another member of that Season 6 cast now has another big milestone... and it just so happens to be the one who Lexi was closest to in the New Orleans house.
When we offered our tribute to Alexis over a week after her death, as we did for Diem and Knight years earlier we showcased all the reactions from the AYTO family and her Season 6 castmates... but the most poignant tribute of her came from Keith Klebacher, who was part of that season's biggest romance from when they first clicked in the house, to getting heartbroken in the truth booth, and him cruelly taking away her teddy bear before the final matchup as he masterminded that epic comeback.
Keith's tribute to Alexis not only offered his memories of spending much time with her, but also helped sum up the feelings he and the twenty other castmates of their beloved castmate. He himself has found his perfect match in a lady he's known since they went to high school, and he & girlfriend Amber chose last weekend to make it official with a ring. And we congratulate them on their engagement, as he notes below in his Instagram post.
As for what we have right now, we'll be covering the 2-part reunion of A Double Shot at Love over the Indigenous Peoples' holiday weekend in two weeks' time. But with no shows of particular interest airing now afterwards, we're now starting to shift our focus to offering a look at some of the most memorable moments and unforgettable personalities and shows in the history of MTV Reality as we'll be presenting a season of ExtraTime Flashback starting next week and continuing until we get to the start line of Season 36 of The Challenge coming in the new year.
That is all in addition to our timely posts on whatever comes up in this fascinating world of ours with the people you've enjoyed watching over the years. That includes two stories to come in the next few weeks or so featuring two members of the same Real World cast that have appeared on shows in the ViacomCBS stable, and one of them will be featured next month... and we'll be sure to feature that and the other appearance by someone from the 2006 Denver season to come then.
But along with all of this, the #DCVegas Flashback: 2010 series of vlogs have just begun as the last set of our special throwback series premiered back on Thursday night after the Double Shot finale aired out east.
