On Labor Day last Monday night, the granddaddy of romantic reality shows, the franchise that's known to its fandom as Bachelor Nation, capped off its special summer-long look back at almost two decades of memorable seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette. Night-long recaps of ten of the series' Greatest Seasons Ever replaced what would've been Bachelor in Paradise due to the pandemic, as host Chris Harrison brought fans down memory lane reliving unforgettable moments and suitors for roses & romance, from Nick Viall to Ali Fedotwsky and Ben Higgins.
Next month, Clare Crawley of Juan Pablo's season will take the reigns as the new Bachelorette, followed by Matt James for season 25 of its male counterpart - the franchise's second African-American lead after Ghosted host Rachel Lindsay in 2017. But of all of the seasons of the entire franchise -- over fifty regular and spinoffs in all, the one that is of most interest of MTV fans is the Bachelorette season of four years ago starring JoJo Fletcher. It was there that she met her QB fiance Jordan Rodgers, but it also in the villa that four other suitors began their quest for love and then went to MTV: three of them showed up on Ex On The Beach and No. 4, Robby Hayes, flew to Siesta Key.
One of those who went to the U.S. version of MTV's totally twisted take on love was Chad Johnson, who went onto Season 2 of the show back in 2019 after establishing himself as an all-time Bachelor villain on JoJo's season in making enemies of just about everyone in the house. He then had a rather memorable first night on the ensuing third season of Paradise only for an argument with the host sending him home the same week Johnny Bananas stole Sarah's money. Chad went onto EOTB where he clicked with Bloodlines Challenger Nicole Ramos, but like all of his romances both on- and off-camera that flamed out in the California sun.
This year has been a twisted one for the one they call "Bad Chad," as in addition to having to relive his Bachelorette season (which also included EOTB Season 1'er Chase McNary and Peak of Love's Daniel Maguire) during the Greatest Seasons Ever summer, he has had his own episodes play out for public consumption on social media and the internet. First, there was allegations of domestic violence against his ex-girlfriend influencer Annalise Mishler when he had a relapse in trying to abstain from alcohol and was cuffed by the LAPD. Then, there were rumors going around that he had been considering taking his life during this wild time in his life, but cooler heads prevailed in that category.
It wasn't that long ago that Chad was a former member of the Marine Corps trying to adjust back to life back on the home front and helping to sell real estate back home in his native Oklahoma. But with having to pay all of those legal bills and that jail bail money surrounding that circus of him & Annalise that inadvertently gave him an idea of what's next in his life: perhaps a career in adult entertainment? He and the ex had began to explore the possibility of doing some up close & personal matters for that underground world known as OnlyFans... and then he thought of something bigger.
It's during that phase of exploring those new world that is definitely not suitable for work and intended for a mature audience that Chad developed a love for what OnlyFans offers in pornographic content and becoming an exotic dancer. If what you've seen Vinny do on a guest basis for the Chippendales when cameras of Jersey Shore's Family Vacation relaunch and the spinoff A Double Shot at Love have documented, or when Rogan O'Connor got to do before going onto EOTB UK and The Challenge as part of the UK Dreamboys, then you have an idea of what that's like. Ask any lady of all ages of what that's like being in the front row at those stripping spectacles.
Just after his world was being turned upside down, Bad Chad decided to take a trip up to Las Vegas to explore the possibilities of launching his own X-rated version of OnlyFans and toured houses with the likes of Hulk Hogan's son Nick and his porn star girlfriend for possible locations where he can film his magic and call home at the same time. Obviously, the COVID emergency has had other ideas and production has not started just yet on this new venture. And last week, Chad was spotted in the latest chapter of his twisted 2020: a public display of affection (a PDA) on the Strip.
Besides those two Bachelor seasons, Ex On The Beach and partaking in a series of Celebrity Big Brother UK, another show on Chad's reality CV is Famously Single, which aired for a few seasons on E!, and was where Pauly D. got to know another MTV alum, Aubrey O'Day of Danity Kane (and in turn, the third generation of Making the Band) and headliner of the Ex On The Beach Season 3 cast during that first season. Chad was part of the second season of that E! show where he shared a loft with other fellow heavy-hitters in Hollywood and the entertainment industry.
One of them just happens to be Pauly's fellow Jersey Shore-mate, Ronnie Ortiz-Margo, who we all know had a long on-and-off relationship with Sammi Sweetheart throughout his show's original run. We never forget every big moment that happened with them in the Shore house, in Miami and in Italy which kept us on our toes and was a regular of the gossip columns. We also remember that chaotic night where he and Mike the Situation threw it down in Europe and saw the ladder head to a hospital for an injured neck, and there's been some other things too including that juice.
When the Vacation began two years ago, we found Ron in a different place than he was when we waved farewell to them in 2012: he had become the first in his cast to become a father. The one who became the mom to his baby is Las Vegas native Jen Harley, who began dating him back in early 2017 a year prior to the show's return. Later that year, Ron announced that he was expecting when Jen became pregnant, and in time for JSFV's premiere they welcomed daughter Ariana Sky - her second kid after giving birth to son Mason during a previous relationship.
Just as it was during the show's first reiteration, Ronnie's on-again & off-again relationship drama has been at the forefront - only this time it is with Jen. And during this time, we've not only celebrated that new baby with him, but also had to endure seeing arrests, a second pregnancy scare for Jen, and the elephant in the room of -- yes -- a domestic violence charge and a much more serious one than what Chad went through earlier this year. Last October, the former couple got into it at an L.A. AirBNB rental home where, after he slapped her he took Ariana to Disneyland after a protective order placed against him by Jen had elapsed.
He couldn't escape what happened there, and he had seven misdemeanor charges stamped onto his head: domestic violence, child endangerment, brandishing a deadly weapon, criminal threats, false imprisonment and resisting arrest two times. Ron denied those allegations and he entered into separate not guilty plea agreements after that chaotic night - a more tense one compared to what he had to go through after the Vacation series premiere when the baby parents got into it on Instagram Live and cooled off with MTV queen Kailah Casillas, Scheana of Vanderpump Rules and a friend of Team MTV's, Mikey P.
And the global pandemic that has kept us all at home and separated many families has also had an effect on Ronnie and his daughter -- and it's also under an order. Jen placed a restraining order on the dad since back in March when orders were placed to curb the COVID spread, and specifically bars Ron from contacting the baby or the baby mom, which saw the ladder two spend Ariana's second birthday in April with just Jen celebrating with her. Understandably, Ron misses having the chance to spend time with his kid, and he sent his birthday wishes to her on Instagram on the big day.

As Chad continues to perfect his path towards dominating porn, he and Jen (who's also a local realtor in the rapidly growing Las Vegas Valley) have hung out a bit in the past week, including touring a new house with a fellow local realtor. And last Thursday night, the Bachelor and the baby mama were caught getting it on in this restaurant, making out many times with friends and fellow on-lookers watching, including a lap dance. And of course, that arbiter of gossip and one of this nation's finest journalistic organizations, TMZ, caught hold of the video and the exclusive.

That PDA was the result of them being set up by her baby's dad and his former Famously Single castmate, and it was after TMZ broke the news on Friday night that a friend of Jen's reiterated to the gossip site that they are nothing more than friends and that they were there to visit that house that's up for sale. The rep added that Jen was so hungry that she had plenty to drink after a long day, and had no recollection of the above videos until it was made public by the tabloid media, saying that she "is disgusted and embarrassed by her actions."
Whatever it is, when you have the one member of Bachelor Nation who's been in the public eye a bit this year and the one tabloid-friendly guy of the Jersey Shore crew in the same story -- you know it's gonna be a juicy one. It's been made a little bit more scandalous with the inclusion of the lady who's helped to co-parent the one person Ronnie values more than anyone these days in his daughter, who he's not seen since our world turned upside down. And it's this session of getting caught making out in the city where secrets are not safe that's produced, as TMZ calls it, "a match made in Sin City."
