DC SocialPulse: The Challenge Final Reckoning - "It's Always Sunny in South Africa"

Hey there, it's an extended holiday weekend in honor of our troops, and here in November the year in MTV Reality is fast approaching its conclusion as two of the shows we cover wall to wall that began in the heat of the summer will soon wrap up this close to the holidays. In the case of The Challenge Final Reckoning, the day of decision is now approaching, but before that goes down there's some business to take of in South Africa in thinning out the field before the marathon for the cash commences.
   Regardless of what you might say about the current crop of female Challengers, they have been holding their own these days, and last week saw Sylvia up her elimination mark to 5-1 when she & Joss knocked off Bananas & Tony in a game of torture and puzzles. Meanwhile, trivia made its return to The Challenge as once again the players' brains were tested, and as what we'll be the case for the week's main focus, Paulie and Natalie offered proof that momentum is everyone's friend in them winning their second straight daily challenge.
   As for Shane & Nelson, they finished last in that Purge challenge and this week they and the rest of the residents of the Redemption House will have one last shot to win their way back into the game and to go for $1 million, through both one more serving of the Double Cross and a doubleheader of elimination battles - and a final reckoning may come to a season-long feud between two teams. Then comes the next-to-last regular challenge before the final, where once again it serves as a Purge: whoever finishes last will see their run end two weeks short.

So, things are getting into business mode right about now as the Redemption House finally reverts back to a nice cottage in the South African countryside after what might be called a triple purge. Two teams go down in elimination in Brad & Kyle and Shane & Nelson as they're defeated by, respectively, Kam & Kayleigh in the former and Bananas & Tony in the ladder. But then Team KK finishes last in the week's purge challenge as their run ends in the quarterfinal stage - the season's second-to-last challenge, and it's Joss & Sylvia that becomes power team going into the penultimate daily of the Challenge year. Should be quite a homestretch we have ahead.

TONY GOES BALD

As we talk to you here on this College Football Saturday, last week saw the sport the top teams hold onto their rankings inside the Top 25 as we get closer to the traditional rivalry games and of who goes where for bowl season, with all eyes on the College Football Playoff and the National Championship at Levi's Stadium in the Bay Area. 2nd-ranked Clemson put up 77 points on lonely Louisville, West Virginia got by Texas on a last-second touchdown, and Notre Dame, Michigan and Georgia kept their spots inside the Top 5.
   For last weekend's biggest game - the biggest one of the season and the highest-rated college game of the fall, #1 ranked Alabama traveled down to Baton Rouge to meet #3 LSU. On paper, this was a game everyone anticipated, but once the Crimson Tide got going it was certainly no contest. Nick Saban's team shut out the Tigers on their Louisiana home turf, 29-0, as they further stamped their place as THE power in college football towards another national championship in Birmingham.
   One person who was keenly interested in the outcome of that game was Tony, and as is custom for many fans he decided to place a bet on LSU pulling off the rare upset of the dominant power in college football, and that if his Tigers lost he would shave off his head. After what happened at what's referred to by avid fans as "Death Valley," below is what happened next...

But as my 5th grade teacher used to say when we were in class, hold your horses... Tony didn't cut his whole hair off with the help of now fiance Alyssa. Instead, he used a technique where a guy can cover his hair with a bald head to dress up as the man from Mr. Clean and dress up for Halloween. The next day when he posted on Snap and Insta, Tony did have his whole hair.
