There, Cory announced in a picture posted on Twitter, Instagram and similarly with someone he met on a past series, that he was the father of the baby of Are You The One? Season 3 alum and Rivals III finalist Cheyenne Floyd, Ryder K., who was six months old when the news was made public for the first time. For someone who started his MTV career on The Real World in 2014, competed on 5 Challenge seasons, appeared on the first EOTB USA season, and for her on what is the most successful alumni class of her original series, they were chosen to replace Farrah Abraham on Teen Mom OG nearly a year after that revelation... in part bringing the rest of the MTV fandom to a new frontier, and also to bring light to a health condition Ryder was diagnosed with upon his birth.
Of everything that went down on his first six MTV shows, Cory becoming a dad became his biggest moment yet - much bigger than being part of the next generation of Challengers and a twist that rocked the Bay Area. But perhaps, no one was expecting the news that emerged last week of the same thing happening once again: Cory meeting a girl on an MTV series and them getting knocked up... though this scenario of him getting a girl pregnant has become old hat - not just with what he's had with Cheyenne, but past instances before and during his time in San Francisco on Ex-Plosion.
For what he has this time around, the girl is not just an AYTO alum: it's the one Cory met on that maiden Ex On The Beach voyage last year: Taylor Selfridge. And now, the man who was minted with a tattoo that Cheyenne dubbed him "Mr. MTV" is about to become a daddy to two kids.
Going into that beautiful, multi-million dollar oceanside house on the big island once rented by Justin Bieber, a man infamous for being a player stated his plans to turn up and meet up with some lovely women. And it came after being crowned "hookup king" of The Challenge following flings with Aneesa Ferreira, Camila Nakagawa, Kailah Casillas, later EOTB ex Alicia Wright, Jenny Delich on his Real World season, and of course Cheyenne. This was the reason for Cheyenne eventually giving Cory a tattoo on How Far Is Tattoo Far this fall with a tongue licking the MTV logo and coining him the "MTV Slut," fittingly for someone who has appeared on many MTV seasons in the past five years.
In the end, the latest person to get closer to Cory was Taylor, who we first saw on AYTO Season 5 a year earlier (the season infamous for them not winning the money) and who had a bunch of exes fly to the 50th state. There, she had to endure seeing her ex from that season Andre Siemers, season 4 alum Cameron Kolbo and season 6 ex Joe Togerson, for where Taylor flew to New Orleans as part of the annual exes visit during Joe's season (and where after leaving he ultimately became boyfriend of Cameron's ex from AYTO4, Mikala Thomas).
Cory told People Magazine before that portrait of him aired in April, "Taylor and I never really stopped talking after Ex On The Beach. We're going on almost a year and a half. We took about two to three months off and other than that, that's who I've been with." And that reconciliation took place around Valentine's Day when they were spotted together going on "baecation" trips down to Mexico in Instagram photos, just shortly after ironing out their issues to the point of them deciding to make it official, again.
Those who have followed Cory & Cheyenne from when they locked first eyes on each other in Mexico know of what they've been through, which is a far cry from what the rest of those in the Teen Mom universe have put up with for a decade. Them being able to co-parent Ryder makes this more easier than most arrangements, though he did hint about the possibility of them getting back together again. But that won't be the case for now with Chey in her own relationship and those involved in those being very respectful of the situation as is despite social media having a field day... it's really the only significant item in the drama department for those out west in the TMOG universe.
As for this latest twist in this world which we will get to see in the new year, just as it was for the first one Cory posted the date "10.16.19" on his social media channels that reminded everyone of a big announcement to come that day. It had people buzzing of whether it was going to be more news surrounding a pregnancy, of him announcing he'd be returning to The Challenge or any new TV show that we haven't heard of (which would not be the case for a season that won't air until the new year), or just a new business venture such as launching a clothing line. But it was the first option that would once again break the internet, and this was how Cory & Taylor got to announce on Instagram the fall's biggest MTV bombshell...

I’ve been debating on what to say and how to exactly say it, And I found that I just want to talk from the heart quick. I’m excited to say that YES Taylor is pregnant!!!! 🤰🏼 Ryder is going to be a big sister, o boyyy 😂 I also wanted to let you guys know that we weren’t trying to have a baby right now, but sometimes God puts things into your life that you don’t really understand at the time but it’s always turns out to be a bigger blessing. I’m really excited to share this journey with you guys. All that I ask from you guys is respect for Taylor, respect for me and most importantly respect for the baby. All that I want is a healthy baby that is brought into a very positive environment and surround by good energy and love.The same way that I am raising Ryder. This is a very exciting time for mine and Taylor’s families. As he talked to the magazine's TV reporter Emily Longretta, this was certainly out of left field: "It was definitely a surprise. Just being there from the day she found out that she's pregnant and knowing that it was mine, I knew that I was going to have to step up. It’s exciting for me. It’s gonna be a lot, but I’m excited. I never went to an ultrasound, you know? I never went to the doctor’s appointments to see her check-ups and things like that. So for me, this is like my first baby almost, as weird as that sounds." And Taylor added, "I just originally thought it was a boy, but now I don’t know. Everybody’s saying girl, so now I just feel like it’s a girl!"
Those who have watched them in this world since they joined Team Teen Mom last year know of the triangle of sorts Cory has with the baby mama and his girlfriend, and unlike most of the other relationships in this universe things with Cheyenne and Taylor are on a more amicable level than, say, Kailyn with Javi, Jo & her other exes. So it came as no surprise that when Chey received the news of Taylor being pregnant when Cory dropped off Ryder at her house when they received the test results, their reaction was of her & her family being supportive of him when he was fearing the worst. And as she wrote in her Instagram story, "Congratulations. Babies are a blessing. Can't believe Ryder is going to be a big sister."
Cory now joins some elite company of being a parent to two or more kids among the Challenge community, which includes multiple Challenge champs Brad Fiorenza & Tori Hall, Paula Beckert and Darrell Taylor, among other notables. In some sort of irony, this group also includes the one Cory got in a fight with over pasta on a bus ride home on Final Reckoning last year, Tony Raines, too. And this story takes place the same month as a 2-part televised session of Couples Therapy of his fellow Challenge Young Buck Nelson Thomas & her EOTB vendetta Angela Babicz on Dr. Phil.
For what Cory and Taylor have ahead of them, it will be a new experience for both in going through this long, sometimes agonizing and other times incredible process of parenthood that, if things go right and be on schedule, will culminate in the start of a new era for her, and double the daddy duties for him in the new year. Taylor will add this new and happy chapter of being mom to her life after what she had to go through on her AYTO season and then on EOTB... and this will make her a more prominent figure on Teen Mom just as it was on her previous shows, but for a different challenge.
And of course, this will be documented on Teen Mom OG in the new year, which will no doubt see Cory take over the mantle of MTV's leading man with this latest high-profile pregnancy that now sees him become a key figure in the year ahead, just as it was going in 2018 when he became a dad for the first time. Those of us who have followed him from when it began in the Bay have seen his progression from player of the love and competitive kinds to his unlikely journey as a father that now has him on the edge of becoming a bigger name in reality TV circles, even to those who don't watch MTV on a regular basis.
Now, the journey begins for her and once again for him, as Cory and Taylor now embark on this next chapter of a book that started in Hawaii, continued as boyfriend & girlfriend, and now as would-be father & mother as her first child and his second baby. If things have been relatively mellow in juggling one kid of Challenge Nation's representative in the Teen Mom universe, then wait until the second one takes shape... it will be a most interesting new chapter for Mr. MTV Baby Daddy.
