For most of us, this tough time in our world and our lives have seen us take two -- even three -- straight years of having to put off so much for the sake of our health & safety... that includes this weekend's return of arguably the biggest live music event in America: Coachella in Southern California's Inland Empire, an hour's drive east of Los Angeles. But for so many, the global pandemic caused a massive ripple effect when it comes to planning out that ultimate of life-changers that simply say the ultimate Saturday (or any day of the week) where a couple goes down the aisle, say their "I do's," share a first kiss as a married couple and party the night away with family, friends and their fellow invited guests.

The return of American normalcy means that after two years' worth of delays but also lots of extra time for planning, the dream days of brides, grooms and their families alike are finally coming to fruition -- and at a historic pace. A whopping 2.6 million couples are expected to tie the knot this year, the most in almost forty years... all as a result of the lockdown preventing most weddings from taking place in 2020 and early 2021. Wedding vendor companies, which had a light work load the past few years, are picking up the pace in prepping for both the main event in those expensive dresses, and those lavish after-parties known as a wedding reception with a larger number of guestlists after all this time being apart.

Two years ago when a lot of us had to put up with all of this delaying the grandest day of anyone's lives, we featured five people who got to try on wedding outfits at the most renowned parlor of its type in the world: The Challenge's Nicole Zanatta, Big Brother 20 and Total Madness finalist Bayleigh Dayton & husband Swaggy Chris Williams, Real World Back to New Orleans alum Ashlee Feldman, and Mike the Situation of Jersey Shore & the Sorrentino clan all paid a visit to Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City, home to TLC's Say Yes to the Dress. Just a few weeks ago, Nicole herself got engaged to her girlfriend Lauren... and it came before she got invited to 2022's first big wedding day in the MTV community... well, make that the second wedding day for one of Challenge Nation's biggest couples.

The Challenge -- and the whole MTV Reality scene for that matter -- has produced many a notable couple, and if you get to binge-watch their array of shows on Paramount+ or Pluto TV as so many of us got to do during this time, you'll get a greater understanding of just how big this family is. And it was seven years ago this winter that the love story began for one of them.
Battle of the Exes 2 may have been overshadowed by the deaths beforehand of Diem Brown and Ryan Knight, but Season 26 marked the starting point in the long relationship of Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols. They first met on that love-themed Challenge season in 2015 and things clicked for the both of them... and they stayed together until she found out about what he was doing while she was away doing Season 28, and they broke up. But her getting injured on Champs vs. Stars a year later when he also competed on that spinoff somehow brought them back together... nothing much has changed since.
On the Saturday night before Christmas 2019, Zach & Jenna went to the base of the famed Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and walked out of the Rock with an engagement ring adorning her fingers. On Valentine's Day last year, they announced on Instagram that they were expecting their first child, and last fall the couple introduced the world to young Anthony Joseph Nichols. And a month after their making their entry into parenthood official, #Zenna officially tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony in front of just their families in his native Michigan back in early March of 2021, where the new wife told People, "It was really special to have both my family and Zach's family there. Realistically, we don't know how the world is going to be next year, so our wedding isn't even promised. We didn't want to put out life on hold any longer for something that isn't promised."

However, she & Zach saw this March 2021 gathering in the Midwest as the official wedding ceremony, and they wanted to make sure to save the more elaborate festivities for a second time by when normalcy will have been restored. They immediately set a date for April 2nd of this year to celebrate their holy union in front of more than just their families just as it was for their first wedding day.
The Nichols Wedding Part II was attended by numerous members of The Challenge family -- many of whom flew to New York for the festivities and others who call the Tri-State area home made the short trek to the big gala, and many of whom had links to the guests of honor in more ways than one... not least of which is that they competed alongside them on the past decade on the show. From two players who've each won Challenge titles, to the latest member of the champions' club with her boo and that aforementioned Staten Islander, they were represented at the union of #Zenna.

But the moment of the night came at the reception itself, and a tradition of the post-wedding festivities has been of the toss of the bouquet by the bride to the would-be next one in line to get hitched. But it's what happens after Jenna tosses part of that dress to guests of this afterparty that... well, we'll let you see what happens there, and we say congrats once again to her & Zach.
