Hello again, and welcome back. We know the past few days have been a tense one with the events taking place in Minnesota as well as things opening back up over the Memorial Day weekend... but we here like to think of ourselves both here on DCBLOG as well as the DC YouTube channel as "The Escape You Deserve." You do need it to escape the worries of the world, right?

We are just about at the halfway point of The Challenge: Total Madness from Prague... and last week saw a double elimination for two men on this season, colors and foam come together, and an injury involving a toe of all things. But at night's end, it saw a rarity in a man who got interrogated on NBC's The Blacklist get eliminated early, and one of the most reviled players of this new generation of Challengers silence doubters in joining the record book in two ways.

After the jump, we present to you our Challenge WRAP for Week 8 of the madness before the players tackle the sewers later tonight. And we'll also hear from the lady who had her at-home relationship scarred by one Brit. Join us next.

 THINGS TO KNOW
EPISODE 8 ▪ "Live and Let Die"

COLORS & CHEMICALS: We begin with the eighth challenge, and the players having to put together a color structure based upon patterns they get to see while in a room of foam wearing a full body suit. This also happens to be an interesting challenge when it comes to strategy, and many of the players decide to memorize the colors in various ways: from a distance like Johnny Bananas does, or seeing who else does it like Nelson. Mental ones like this have historically been a struggle for Wes, but it seems he's finally gotten the hang of things in that category as he wins this daily and Mattie notches the top time for the women... and they choose Bananas to join them in tribal council.

MORE FULL NELSON: It's safe to say that Nelson is becoming more & more a household name after what you all got to see him on Dr. Phil last year. His behavior might turn off people, but he does get to back it all up with being a good competitor and even making a final. At the club, Nelly finds that Kyle is getting up on him, and they get into it. But remember, he got kicked out for a fight he had with Derrick on Dirty 30, and it was Melissa who decides to shove it in his mouth...

BIG TOE: Everyone deserves a second chance, and after being the first to go last year Big T. is one who wanted to prove her worth... she's been able to showcase to people here what those in Britain loved about her on the tellies there. However, what goes down here might have an effect on what her future could be here - and whether there's one or no elimination ahead of us in Week 8: a drunken T landing awkwardly on her foot, and her toe gushing blood... or if she stepped on some glass. Whatever the case, it would be an unfortunate end to a promising sophomore season for Big T.

PURGATORY DOUBLE SHOT: The nomination process see the former pick Nelson and Fessy volunteering himself for the losers, while the tribunal decide to meet with Bear, Cory, Kyle and Jordan and there was no way in hell the unholy alliance were gonna gamble for that skull at the halfway point. In the end, they pick the first and fourth choices in that alphabetical order.
When they arrive, they see what is always a classic of every Challenge season: Pole Wrestle. First, the Champion takes on the Upstart, and Fessy's huge size as a former FCS-level college footballer sweeps away his battle against Jordan and giving him just his second defeat in elimination... but it's him getting his shoulder injured after that first heat that had some of you clueless. In any case, it was no doubt heartwrenching to see him go out this way in a game that's not suited to his liking.
In the other co-main, Nelson takes on Bear... and whatever you have to say about him and how he acts you can't help but respect Nelly the Challenger. Him being able to manhandle the Brit sees him earn that skull and some Challenge history: the fifth player (and second man) to notch nine career elimination wins, and he ties Camila & Laurel in that category - with only Cara & Wes above them. And he's the first to win an elimination in six straight Challenge starts... now Nelson has a place in the record book.

 ENDGAME
THE BREAKUP: KAILAH RESPONDS

The direct effect that elimination had on this game is that now Kailah now has just her Holy Trilogy to comfort her the rest of the way. And it's true that this has been a game-changing season for her: she came here with a boyfriend back home, and now she has to compose herself and try and forget what has happened to concentrate on the game itself.
In our combined weeks 5 & 6 Challenge WRAP a couple weeks ago, we featured the response her ex-boyfriend Mikey P. had, and where he had nothing but great memories of his time with her. And now below, here's Kailah's reply on Twitter.

"I have been silent on purpose. I’ve declined a lot of interviews, but here’s what I have to say: I was in a relationship that I wasn’t happy in for a lot of reasons, bigger than you’ll ever know. What I did on 35 gave me an escape. Was it the right way? No.   "I should have dealt in a more respectful manner. I take 100% fault for everything and what I did was not right, actually, so fuckec up. But I’m human. And now, I am living the life I want. Afterward, I moved into my own apartment, I proved to myself I could be independent and I am right where I want to be. It didn’t play out in the best way, but I’m happy.   "Also, for those of you who said I was having a tantrum when I threw the spoon: I threw it because I was pissed at myself. I KNEW I fucked up and I didn’t want anyone to else to be dragged in unwillingly.   "And I’ve been on tv for 5 years straight. You all have seen me grow, make mistakes, be drunk and wild... but at the end of the day, I hope you can at least see the fact that I’m human. Love you all."

💥  💥  💥

And that brings our Week 8 double shot to a close... before we go, we have some celebratory posts coming up to hopefully brighten the mood here after the events of the long weekend.
After tonight's episode - two posts depending upon where you are: we'll catch up with the girl who Jordan was odds with when they were in the same house where their journeys in MTV Reality began, and who is now joining him in the engagement department. We'll celebrate Graduation Day with an At Home Celebration thrown by a Champs vs. Stars competitor turned emcee of Ex On The Beach. And this weekend, we'll be meeting up with MTV Reality's newest mom - and a first for the British Invasion. Until then, enjoy tonight Challenge Nation...
