DC ExtraTime: The AYTO'er/World Series Flasher Meets Jake Paul

Something that was commonplace in the decade that's just past us by has been of MTV Reality alums making their mark outside the channel itself - and we've followed many of their treks for you here. As far as 2019 is concerned, Angela Babicz & Nelson Thomas met on Ex On The Beach Season 2 and brought their relationship drama to the stage of Dr. Phil -- and last night they rung in the new year together in Las Vegas. There's fellow EOTB2 single Corey Brooks having his beach boxing session getting video-bombed by Bradley Cooper, housemate Nurys Mateo getting to lock lips with Cardi B. in the music video for her lead single off her last album, and so many other stories in seven years.

And then, there's Julia Rose of Are You The One? Season 4 of now four years ago, who garnered much attention in October when she took some friends out to the ballgame - but not necessarily for baseball, no less one of America's most-revered sporting events. Julia and two friends who she works with for adult entertainment company SHAGMAG, and she co-founded with along with her love & fiance, Stephen McHugh, decided to crash the 2019 World Series by flashing themselves behind home plate during the Fall Classic... and they paid the price in gaining the Pete Rose treatment from Major League Baseball: a lifetime ban from attending games.

Since what went down in Washington, D.C. a few months ago, the amount of followers to Julia's social media platforms have only increased (she did beat Cheyenne Floyd of Season 3 and Teen Mom OG to 1 million followers) as has the public attention for her. So much was the case when she received the VIP treatment at one of 2019's most-anticipated fights - and one that didn't involve full-time professional boxers: YouTube influencers KSI and Logan Paul squaring off in a rematch of their disputed majority draw in their first bout in London back in February. It came after the ladder ran into EOTB UK star turned stripper & now Challenge champ Rogan O'Connor while they both were in London for the Tuber's press tour and the filming of the War of the Worlds 2 reunion.

Julia and her friends sat ringside watching that rematch and an undercard headlined by British fighter Billy Joe Saunders at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and streamed live on DAZN, and the six-round main event in the cruiserweight division saw KSI squeak out a split decision points victory over Logan, and settled the score in the battle of the YouTubers. Outside of the ring, Julia was spotted in her Instagram story giving a kiss to a friend seated next to her... but unlike what happened that night at Nationals Park her being spotted there was the only action viewers saw of her on TV. And her getting to see one-half of the most revered & hated siblings in all of YouTube brought her to the attention of Logan's brother, and one who's now part of Team MTV himself.

That man happens to be Jake Paul, who was already in the door of the channel when he and his friend, Chad Tepper of 2018 show Too Stupid to Die, invited over for one of his videos Taylor Selfridge from Ex On The Beach Season 1, Are You The One? Season 5 and the MTV family's next mommy in waiting and who made the king of the channel, Cory Wharton, a dad to two kids along with the one he shares with Cheyenne. There, Jake, Chad, Taylor and other contestants competed in what's become a now ubiquitous YouTube trend: be the last to do something and win a prize... and they sat in a pool full of Icy Hot, and Taylor won $10,000 for outlasting everyone including the host.

Jake officially joined the MTV family last summer when he was the male lead character in what's now become the biggest soap opera in all of the social influencer universe: his romance and marriage to fellow YouTube star Tana Mongeau, which has been documented as part of her reality series, MTV No Filter: Tana Turns 21. The show followed her crazy summer with her friends and Jake, from her wild 21st birthday weekend to returning to the VidCon convention to her & Jake saying "I do," and everything in between... including a holiday special that dropped during a most interesting winter for both Tana & Jake.

The enormous buzz that Julia garnered in the wake of her World Series flashpoint and being ringside for Logan's defeat to KSI was brought to Jake's attention when he considered candidates of which girl he would cast as the female lead for his latest single, "These Days." He channels the vibes of Drake in his lyrics which he made after a breakup he had prior to Tana, and he recalled, "It was talking about how, a lot of times in the relationship I'd just got out of and previous ones that I'd been in, the girls would always have too much pride and their egos would be too big."

In the video itself, he and Julia share a Hollywood hillside house to themselves doing just about everything in their raunchy three-minute clip that has garnered over 5 million views on YouTube since it debuted back on December 13th, despite it getting a near even split in likes/dislikes.

"These Days" dropped the same time that he had to face the music in regards to that aforementioned ex-girlfriend of his, YouTuber Alissa Violet. A photo he snapped of him and Alissa garnered much criticism from the social media crowd, just as after his upcoming fight against An Eson Gib during Super Bowl weekend in Miami he will put more attention to music than to viral videos.
As for his current girl, Tana dropped a 40-minute long video on her YouTube channel this past weekend called "The Truth About Everything," and after she began by describing herself at being her lowest point in her mental state, she discussed Jake, struggles with her mental health, a recent drug relapse and her MTV show, among other matters. As for her & her husband, they are still committed to making their relationship work despite the immense public scrutiny, while she is reaffirming her intentions on being real and authentic - something that will be documented when Season 2 of Tana's No Filter series premieres later this year.
