MTV Reality WRAP: Siesta Key - Holiday Cheer in the Air, and #Kristephen Reunited

Hello again and welcome to the second August's weekend, and it's hard to think that summer is now approaching its late afternoon glow. But as you take advantage of whatever we have left of this lost summer, the focus of DCBLOG's trip Inside MTV Reality is now down to two shows thanks to The Challenge turning things over to Big Brother and two Challengers returning to their roots, plus Miami is on the mind for the kids of A Double Shot at Love. But before all that, Season 3 of Siesta Key continues up the way from where the Jersey Shore crew's comeback began there in Florida.

Last week, we got to know the guy who Juliette hopes to rebound from after her two roller-coaster romances, and she might have prove that third time is the charm with Sam. And he invited her and some of the girls for a ride on his yacht, all as the rest of them were with Alyssa & Alex to celebrate the first public rites of pregnancy: a gender reveal at the Kompo Kingdom as they saw pink smoke fuming out of a plane, signifying a baby girl. And we also had drama with Chloe and Jared's girlfriend co-worker Ashley, Jake meeting Kelsey, and Amanda & JJ being dunzo.

And the parties just keep on going, as the attention now turns to celebrating something the Key Crew hasn't had a chance to celebrate with the cameras in tow, and interpersonal relationships of all kinds are explored amidst the spirit of Christmas coming down from the North Pole to the Sunshine State.  THINGS TO KNOW 
SEASON 3B - Episode 8

🐱 A PURRFECT PRESENT: Amidst all that has been going on with most everyone else in the Key, there has been a renewed connection between Brandon and his Camilla, and if what happened with them coming to JJ's birthday party that is a sign that things are back to normal for BG and his girl. Well, they are the first to feel the holiday spirit in one of the few locales in this country that doesn't have snow on the ground this time, and it's her that give him an early Christmas gift: a pet cat.



😐 ON COMMON GROUND? - It's true that this half of season 3 has represented a reckoning of sorts for the town's most trusted source of tea, and Chloe has found herself in hot water for spreading rumors with the Key's elite. And the one who has served as the whistleblower for her actions has been none other than Madisson, where after her latest bit of gossip didn't sit well with her, she decided to move out and to her parents house after they were rooming together. And when Maddy and Chloe get to be in the same place, they get a chance to try and find common ground.



🎄 CHRISTMAS IN THE AIR: The Key crew has celebrated birthdays, Spring Break, 4th of July, graduations, Thanksgiving and last week a baby gender reveal... but one thing they've not celebrated until now has been Christmastime. That changes this week as the girls take an opportunity to ride a horse carriage through a park of holiday lights, and then Juliette's new crush Sam hosts a holiday party at his house, with Chloe offering to host a holiday toy drive as well. Even Ish finds time to fly down to Florida to surprise Madisson and offer her to move in with him out west, once again.



😲 SO GOES THE SPIRIT: Yuletide is supposed to be a time to celebrate the good things in life as we celebrate the holidays, but it's when Madisson, Ish & Kelsey are hanging out with a teddy bear(!) that they find out something fishy: when browsing through her timeline Maddy discovers that Kels' man Garrett has been spotted with the girl who he's been training with on his personal trainer gig, Carli. When she sees that she's planting a kiss next to her man, Kelsey is left jaw-dropped. And when Jules sees what he did... well, fast forward to the last 90 seconds of the video and watch & see.

KRISTIN & STEPHEN...
TOGETHER AGAIN

As we've all been watching Siesta Key since its debut three years ago last Friday, we are indulging ourselves in the subgenre of reality soap, and it's likely that you are mindful of where this all began a decade & a half ago. It was when Jules was only four years old when Season 2 of Laguna Beach began with their own holiday homecoming out in Orange County, CA. That Christmas party saw Stephen Colletti come home from college up in San Francisco, and waiting for him was Lauren Conrad just after she left him there after she found that college life wasn't to her liking.
   Them going up to the Bay Area cleared the way for Kristin Cavallari to take over Laguna High and the role of narrator & main protagonist of Season 2 after LC held down that role the first time around. We all remember her asking Stephen where he was on that date before she went in all white at that black & white party in the very first episode. Him being in the middle of that love triangle with Kristin and LC was the overarching storyline of their two seasons on the show, and even today it's likely you still hear echoes of which team you were on when they ruled MTV.
   And of course, both leading ladies then made their way to The Hills: Lauren moved up from a mansion as recognizable as Alex's Siesta kingdom to Hollywood and the famous life, and we all know that she has gone on to a big career ever since. When she decided to take a step back, it was Kristin that took over for the last season & a half, and she was there for that jaw-dropping last scene of the series, which was ten years ago this summer when Jersey Shore took over all of television. And recently, she returned to TV for a several seasons' run of Very Cavallari on E!.
   But no matter what, Kristin will always remembered for her relationship with Stephen, which saw many chats overlooking the Pacific Ocean at sunset and many other things during those two seasons. And last week, she posted the following on Instagram with the caption, "2004 or 2020?", and everyone from Alex M. ("😝😝😝😝") to fans everywhere chimed in... that includes Snooki ("Omg i am here for this 🔥🔥") and Angelina ("❤️❤️❤️❤️ Get your man girl @kristincavallari 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻").
