We are now on the edge of a time that will be unlike any we have gotten to enjoy while we've been alive -- after a year unlike any other we've had in our lives, the pent up anticipation we've had for two full years will finally be let out as summer 2021 is just around the corner. The regular season in TV land will soon wrap up, but there will be plenty of buzzworthy reality shows, big sporting events and more to come during the hottest season of the year as we inch our way towards Memorial Day Weekend.

On the MTV front, we've just crowned worthy champions on The Challenge: Double Agents as the focus has shifted to the All-Stars spinoff on Paramount+ that's brought back the feels of fans of the fifth major pro sport. Teen Mom Tuesdays now belong to the second generation of ladies as their season has just begun again, and the countdown is in full swing for Jersey Shore to take over Thursdays as they head out to the Poconos. And this week, the road trip of the Floribama Shore cast will come to an end as their vacation away from the Sunshine State wraps up in Arizona... and then there is their neighbors.

It's been quite a time for those who call Florida home, and if you can handle the humidity, the heat, the hurricane season that's on the horizon and the madness that's taking place towards what we hope is the end of this pandemic, there's probably no better place in America than there. And for the fifth straight year, MTV is headed down to a paradise that wasn't well known before summer 2017, but now everyone across this country knows what Siesta Key is all about... and it's not just because of the gorgeous beach and its surrounding community located right near Sarasota and a bit aways from the present capital of American sport of Tampa Bay.

It's in this very town that we have followed the lives, the loves and the drama that collide with the sun, the surf, the sand and the sultry heat from the network and the producing duo who made Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari household names. And for this summer, they will share the same night in the middle of the week as their counterparts out in California which, like it and the show that proceeded it in Orange County, set the bar for the genre of the docusoap. The kids of the Key share a trait with those out west with the same drama and dynamic while also being mindful of what people like them are going through and being that much more relatable to us.

After plenty went down in Florida in its first two seasons, last year saw things change considerably here: a musician began to take on that sign that it's time to settle down and raise a new baby. An ex of his scored a romance of her own with someone out of left field and who knows this group just as well as anyone from behind the camera, while another ex dealt with a love triangle involving him. But it all comes back to the young lady who graduated college and scored who she thought was her match... only for that to fall apart as did a friendship with a model from the heartland as she goes about trying to make a name for herself other than being the standout character in this ongoing saga.

Now we have returned to this playground of 7,000 the width of the Las Vegas Strip, and drama awaits once again in Siesta Key: Brandon taking on that challenge of parenthood, Madisson thinking of her upcoming big day, Chloe looking to go beyond being the gossip queen, new things for Garrett and Amanda, and the race to launch new summer outfit lines for Juliette and Kelsey. And those are just the icebreakers: this summer escape will offer us quite a bit in the coming months, as this guilty pleasure will serve as the undercard to the night's main event: the return of the group they got to grow up watching in The Hills.

And after the jump, DCBLOG takes a look back to an eventful Season 3 of Siesta Key, and our first look at what its fourth installment has in store when it premieres tomorrow, and welcome back to paradise.

 LOOK BACK  SEASON 3

Season 3 in Siesta last year offered plenty to talk about, and the buzz started even before the premiere with Bachelorette alum Robby Hayes scoring Jules at his franchise's favorite pickup joint, Stagecoach at Coachella, all as she celebrated graduating at his alma mater Florida State and hoped for a better outcome than what happened with her ex. And for Alex, he moved onto the one who was that Jules' old hairdresser Alyssa, and they would eventually welcome the clique's first baby Alessi.

Brandon would later reveal at summer's end that he had also become a father himself when he got another ex of his pregnant, but before that he was in a love triangle with the one who tried to score his heart when this show began way back when in Amanda and her ex JJ. Garrett's relationship with Cara fell apart to where she would dramatically bolt away from town, while Kelsey had things fall apart with the queen when she found that they had competing plans to launch summer swimsuit lines.

But when it comes to the meme department, nothing will ever match what we saw when Madisson went out to lunch with Chloe upon her return to town for summer to reveal that she had found love for former SK producer Ish, and led the gossip queen to take that now famous sip of wine. And that set the tone for a summer like no other, as we take a look back...

 FIRST LOOK  SEASON 4

As now as we return to Florida for our fourth trip to the beach, we come back to a place that hasn't changed much from when we left last fall, but one that will sure change by the time we leave paradise. And with what's transpired since the virtual reunion back last September, the fandom who's been with this show from day 1 will sure have a lot of discuss this summer... and those who are being drawn to Siesta Key for the first time will discover that this group does have drama worthy to match what Kristin, Speidi and friends have 3,000 miles away.

So far, Juliette is going about her post-Alex & post-Robby love life just fine in hoping that the third time will indeed be the charm when it comes to her new man Sam, who we met last year amidst all the drama. She is now turning more of her attention to her budding luxury business in being a fashion entrepreneur and is determined to achieve those goals and finally have long-lasting love with the billionaire who now takes on the tough task of being the new king of this castle with plenty in the vault to spend on and the kind of person both with kindness and generosity that her predecessors lacked.

Last year, we saw Jules move in with Kelsey including that infamous fight at their housewarming and the start of the Phone Gate mess, but by the fall they turned their backs on each other when it came to -- yes, Kels' plans to also enter that crowded field of fashion too. This model dealt not only with her former roommate but also her former flame, but now with a new condo and a new love interest in zoo keeper Max, things may finally be turning the corner - but then there's her ex BFF.

For the biggest bombshell to drop during last fall's virtual reunion, Brandon revealed that he had become a father... and for one who has always put his music career ahead of everything else in his life that was something we didn't expect. That now changes things a bit for the former player who has had to learn the hard way about trying to balance passions with relationships not only with this clique but also with Camilla, as well as parental advice. But will being a dad change things for BG?

For the most prominent of the four exes he's dated here, Madisson also revealed on the virtual reunion with my sister's fellow high school alum Jeannie Mai that she and Ish had just gotten engaged -- and it came after all the drama with them from houses to parents' disapproval and them being apart for a bit. She now will have to deal with having to raise a family with someone who's twice her age and with a bit of self-discovery, Maddy might have to see what she really wants as she goes into this new territory.

Given her curious and outspoken ways, Chloe has always been the one who relishes the role of stirring the pot more than any other figure in this clique, which has fractured relationships with most everybody. We've seen her gossip and meddle more times than you can count your fingers, but now Chloe's focusing on putting that past of telling secrets in the past as she's embarked on a spiritual journey to try and better herself and those around her... but you can never tell what she will do next.

Just as it was to begin the series at the Kompo birthday bash, last year saw Brandon rekindle things with Amanda when she was also juggling her ex (and now, part of the RossCreations show). Long a part of this clique, she came into her own last year in not being one to back away from conflict but always up for fun (take skydiving for example), and she now is focusing on filmmaking as well as having a new man by her side. The question here if Amanda will finally have a drama-free summer.

And good guy & gym rat Garrett started last year on rocky terms with Alex's ex Cara, continuing his wave of bad luck in the love department after what happened with Kelsey and briefly with Jules. That's the only bad spot on a schedule that sees him be not only be a personal trainer, but also have a good fitness business in proof of the party he threw to launch that line last year. And with him finally getting to a good place romantically with girlfriend Kenna, G-Baby is certainly thriving.

These people are all in a good place as we rejoin them once again for another summer in this slice of heaven, one that will sure see bonds get tested once again and things go down as it always does when the weather in the summertime in Florida gets into 90 degrees and sticky with daily chances for thunder and lightning along with the scorching sun. But while some things change others won't with parties, the sand, the beach and everything Central Florida has to offer... and there may even be a trip out of town -- perhaps out of country.

And as the trailer below teases us, Chloe might've put it best when she got to say in the show's premiere that "Summer is Siesta Key is like no other," and summer 2021 here will be another memorable one.

While DCBLOG has featured posts on Siesta Key around our wall-to-wall coverage of other shows starting with Season 1 four years ago, last year saw us cover it on a weekly basis for the first time. And as it takes over the Wednesday night timeslot occupied by The Challenge this summer in between Double Agents and its 37th season now filming overseas, we'll again bring you our weekly SK Wraps on here with the Things to Know recap of the night's top moments and our trademark SocialPulse presentation of Twitter's best from the episode chatter.
We'll have that all covered each weekend, along with covering All-Stars, this week's Floribama Shore finale and ExtraTime -- including JJ & Jared now joining up with YouTube prankster RossCreations and when the Key crew roleplayed scenes from The Hills. And make sure to join me for live watch parties of the SK episodes on #DCNOW at Twitter @DC408DxNow starting tomorrow, and talk to you then...
